On a weekend away we decide to try this local Indian restaurant ( i use the term restaurant very loosely)The whole experience was disgusting. No greeting as went into the building. Sat at table gave drinks and food order. Served totally flat coke, memories of India special starter nearly cold onion bhaji rock hard samosas one was totally empty nothing inside and Poppadoms were soggy. The main chicken balti had cheap bits of funny tasting chicken and again the onion bhaji was rock hard. Not at any point did anyone come to the table to ask if everything was OK. They didn't even ask when they collected the food if there was a problem when they practically took the lot back into the kitchen. The chap at the counter spent more of his time playing on his phone and non of the staff looked particularly clean one wearing filthy trainers. What a complete waste of money. Needless to say we won't be returning and we hope this stops someone else wasting their money

It is my grandsons 14th Birthday. He wanted all his family to have a takeaway together. We ordered a reasonably large order. Not cheap at 5.20. They told us an hour. After an hour we rang them to be told they’re driver hadn’t turned up. Why did they not ring us earlier and say. So they then promised us the order would be here at 7. Surprise no bloody food delivered. Again rang and they said 7.20. Absolutely furious. Cancelled the order. My Grandson is very upset. I do not recommend this place 😡. Absolute joke.

It tasted like a plate of salt Like it had come out of a jar. It was tastless no flavour Very very salty. We couldnt eat it. Such a shame as the inside is very nice And the staff are nice as well But the curry was a real let down. It was a waste of money And politly left. Poppodoms was nice and lots of onions thou.

One word sums up my first visit on Saturday evening "awful". We was booked in for a small birthday dinner, when we arrived we was taken to the function room upstairs which was very cold with no heating on when we arrived, we asked for the heating to be turned on which took 45 mins for the room to warm up, I asked for a pint of pepsi when we arrived as I was designated driver for the evening this request was ignored and we had to ask again 20 mins later, the rest of the party had brought in drinks as the venue has no alcohol licence. The venue is run down and clearly some areas need some repairs which does not give a great impression. Food was served, I had garlic mushrooms for a starter and could not taste any garlic and then asked for a steak as I don't eat very spicy food, I was told they don't have steak, I then ordered a mushroom omelette and chips, the omelette was fine, chips where clearly frozen chips brought in bulk and tasteless, the food standard would be what I would expect from a typical cheap cafe in a town centre market not from a restaurant. When the meal ended the waiter accidentally dropoed some cutlery which landed on my white top (brought that day brand new for our evening out) The waiter then said it was my fault and that I was drunk, given I was driving and only had 2 glasses of Pepsi, I find that totally unacceptable and totally unprofessional, we didn't even get a sorry from the waiter. My top is now stained and even after using vanish stain remover and washing there is still a faint stain. The service was poor, unprofessional, the food was not of a acceptable standard for a restaurant and the decor was tatty and in need of repairs. I didn't say anything or complain on our visit as I felt it would of ended the evening badly and this was my friend's birthday meal out so I didn't want to cause a scene as the night was a celebration of her birthday and not about me. Very disappointed with this restaurant and will never return.

I love memories of India . Well usually anyway. LastNight tues 7/6/21 I ordered was first told I could onlyPay by cash after a drawn out discussion they eventually fired up the card machine , I then placedMy order. What arrived was a somewhat mixed bag some very good, some very bad. Poppadoms we’re good although I received and presume paid for two extra chutneys that I didn’t order. Onion bhaji would have been very good if they weren’t cold , lamb tikka was so tough it got bigger the more you chewed (very disappointed) the chicken tikka on the other hand was delicious , soft and tender and full of flavour, the tandoori chicken was as dry as a bone and I’m aware tandoori has someCharring to the meat but this was almost all charred. The bhuna sauce was tasty although like the bhaji was cold, nan bread was also cold and again far too burnt to be pleasurable. Then I find after checking if been charged £22.40 instead of £14.85 +£2.00 for delivery TOTAL £16.85 so what has happened to the other £5.50 ?? All in all pretty poor show will think carefully before ordering again or recommending others too also order from here

My latest delivery was not the best I’ve ever had from memories. Firstly told I couldn’t pay by card it was cash only then after a hefty debate they agreed to card payment . My onion bhajis were tasty but cold, lamb tikka so tough you couldn’t chew it , chicken tikka was good , bhuna sauce was cold , both the tandoori chicken and the naan bread were burnt and to top it off I was charged £22.40 for a meal that after checking the menu should have been £16.85 with delivery ! Not good at all.

There are lots of Indian takeaways around, but this is the only Indian restaurant we've eaten at in Whaley Bridge. The food is standard Indian cuisine. No bar, which is OK if you know about it, but having to run to the local co-op for drinks isn't ideal and makes it seem like you're eating a takeaway at home. It's quite a large restaurant, but even on a Saturday night, was very very quiet. I know it's not their fault that it's quiet, but you do feel a little slf conscious.

Just had a takeaway from Memories of India as we were staying within walking distance. Didn't know what to expect but chose this place as the reviews were all great. It did not disappoint!! We ordered 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 rice, 1 naan & poppadoms & paid £27.65. Can't complain at that! The chap on the phone was very polite & I was able to order without having to repeat myself. On collection, again very polite & ready in the time they said. On getting it home, very happy! The prawn puree came with the bread separate meaning it wasn't soggy like a lot of places I've used. The other thing that really stood out was the lamb in the main curry was cubed into nice small bitesized pieces which I've never had before. The portion sizes were incredible! We like a big curry but this would have easily fed 3 of us. I was so disappointed in myself that I couldn't manage to finish it! Really great all round. We highly recommend it & will be back to eat in next time we're in the area :-)

The first time we have eaten here, although they have been our go to take away for many years, food as usual was excellent but it was so much better with great service and not having to wash the pots!

Zero Please do not eat here. Ordered a mixed shashlik and I received a plate of sizzling raw vegetables and four pieces of meat. The waiter looked puzzled when I said please replace my raw onions with cooked veg. Please go somewhere else for your curry.

As ever, Abdul and his team served up a fantastic meal, definitely the best curry house in Glossop and the surrounding area.
