Phoenix Chinese Takeaway in High Peak

Placed an order,hour and a half later I phoned to see where it was,I was told it’s only 1 minute away,waited another 30 minutes so call back and get told they havnt cooked it yet! So waited 2 hours just to get told it’s not even been cooked yet.

Tough chicken and tasteless sauce!

We went here a couple of weeks ago due to our regular Chinese take out being closed. Very sorry but we will never be ordering from here again. I can't find the words to say how bad it was. The ribs were pure fat and inedible, the chicken and pineapple tasted like it had washing up liquid in it! The chicken friend rice my partner had was so dry and tasteless. Just utterly disgusting it ended up in the bin with only a few mouthfuls being taken. I don't know how this place is still open judging by the reviews and our experience

Ordered a can of vimto and never came phone the shop the will send it not happy with that

food was hot and came early but no flavour at all. very bland, doubt I'd order again anytime soon

The delivery was very quick, however the food was pretty tasteless.

The chips were soggy when arrived.

First time using Phoenix's. I had a query about the order and they were fantastic. the food was really fresh and tasty, not greasy. I will definitely order here again.

DON’T BOTHER. The worst Chinese I’ve ever eaten!!! Chow mien- noodles are from a packet. Vietnamese ribs are just sweet and sour ribs, and very chewey & tasteless!! NEVER AGAIN.

Food split all over other products not good experience

I hate leaving bad reviews but this food was not it... if the chips were crispy they would have been amazing but they were just a Soggy mess, noodles were like mush and the ribs were just awful. The curry sauce literally tasted so nutty, not like a curry at all. Was excited to try a new place but it was so disappointing.

Absolutely disgusting. Was my first order and will also be my last so ordered shredded beef in ok sauce but what came was the sauce in a tub and a very small packet of cold shredded beef if you could call it that ! Also got the smallest carton of chips in the world was an absolute joke I'm doing a 14hr night shift and sadly went in bin think I'll go back to bringing butties seeing as that's the state of the local chinese food, Urghhh.

Went here because our regular Chinese was closed. We got bbq spare ribs & special fried rice. Oh my goodness it was disgusting. The ribs were dry & tasteless, the special fried rice was again tasteless & soggy. We threw the rice in the bin & gave the dog the ribs!

it was the best Chinese meal I have had in a long time. So yummy thank you.

Chicken was tasty but the chips and tempura shrimp were very soggy, not crispy at all.

my order was late it came at 9:05pm when it came i had 2 messages at 8:05pm it was coming the they it was delivered at 8:30 and it wasn't then 8:50pm so not inpress tonight

Normally like this takeaway but the order I had for £30 was not like normal. special chow mein half of the noodles not cooked still hard. Most of the meat chewy and dry, the prawn toast was way overcooked.Not impressed. Even some prawn crackers were burnt.

Food seemed overcooked and bland. The best part about it was the seaweed.

Ordered 4 dishes and took just under an hour to arrive … when it did order was wrong … rang them and after a little confusion they apologised and sent up the missing dish but obviously by the time it arrived the rice was cold …. They advised we could keep the dish the Serb by accident but as we are allergic to fish we couldn’t … the quality wasn’t particularly great either tbh .. chicken was chewy

Asked for my order to be modified because I can't eat onions or beansprouts, don't think the notes section of my order was checked so ended up not eating most of my food. Won tons are always spot on though 👌

Some food was hot but other parts of the same dish were cold, to me this is probably due to microwaving to reheat precooked meals, the noodles were tough

Not good tonight poor overcooked special fried rice mainly tough beef in cubes sweet sour average too much onion ribs tasteless not a good experience tonight

The food arrived stone cold, and the lids had come off in the bag so was all mixed before could be eaten. Really disappointed

I was missing a chicken fried rice 1 box of noddles and the box was half full And the sweet and sour chicken was not good

Again another fab meal, soup was piping hot and the spare ribs were really meaty and tender.

Very poor, ordered salt and pepper chips and was given crinkle chips obviously just bought frozen from corner shop was all soggy and cold. Also ordered spicy chicken which was mainly just veg about 4 pieces of chicken and wasn’t spicy at all. Paid cash said £16 on the app then went in and got charged more 😂 wouldn’t recommend

Food was very bland. They also missed off the sweet and sour sauce.

Did not enjoy the food. Noodles were chewy. I ordered a vegetable chow mein and it had hardly any veg in! No broccoli, a few beansprouts, mushrooms and carrots!

Non of us enjoyed our meals tonight and 95% of it went in the bin. The food arrived very early which makes me think it wasn’t fresh, just warmed. Won’t be ordering again unfortunately.

Food did not taste great. £25 for barely any food. All extremely soggy on collection and we collected 10 minutes before suggested by restaurant. Extremely unhappy.

Tried here for the first time as usually we use YoYo's but didn't want to collect. Chow meim was very salty, shredded beef was barely editable it was that tough! Dumplings were good though

Perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing, but the deep fried shredded beef wasn't even in sticky sauce - it was dry, tough and flavourless. I was gutted! My wife had chicken fried rice which was alright. Probably won't be ordering from here again unfortunately.

All good except asked for no veg in the dishes and one still had loads in it. Don’t expect more of anything to replace just don’t eat the veg so a waste.

The food was medicore at best, the chips were horrible the box it came in was dripping wet spilling all over my floor the chicken wings tasted strange. Ribs were quite nice

Ordered for a specific time came early which to most is probably welcome but not when I wanted the kids in bed and wanted my HOT tea in peace ! I ordered combination starter it wasn’t pleasant very soggy I ordered extra meat spring rolls these were very tasty however the pork chowmein was like water ! No flavor at all and the pork very chewy. I’ve ordered previously before from phonix and was disappointed with missing food . A friend said it had picked up and was good so I thought I would give it another try. Well tonight was disappointing most has gone in the bin , I will give the meat spring rolls a 8/10 they were the best part of my meal . I won’t be ordering again !

Food was just awful. Spent £30 on food and the only thing i ate was the bag of prawn crackers.

Not as good as previous orders duck in ginger and pineapple was black bean and was salty. Ribs dry will order again though

Frankly appalling. The worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. It is impossible to convey just how bad this food is. I can't even bring myself to try the Shezuan (sp) Chicken. It is absolute gack. Avoid.

The food arrived hot. It was lovely and tasty and i thoroughly enjoyed it. I can recommend and i will order again.

When given the box it all fell apart as soon as I picked it up, leaving a pile on the counter (due to the condensation of being left in the bag so long and titled sideways in the bag). As well as this the food was cold. The food did arrive on time though.

Prawn toast was greasy and overdone, orange chicken was tough and dry, chips were cold along with everything else. Best bit was the noodles and seaweed! Delivery time was fine though

Tasty enough. Was surprised to be asked for 50p more when I asked for a few extra cashews in the Kung Po Beef though.

A meal was missing. Delivered at 19:50 after being advised by text that it was on it's way at 19:15. Considering the takeaway closes at 20:30 a replacement was available. Very disappointed.
