The best restaurants in New Mills West High Peak East Midlands

The bread is stunning and the cakes are gorgeous. We always get a small plait wrap, rolls and a loaf. I can recommend the lunchtime rolls & they do a lunch box for children. So in summer holidays, treat the kids to a sandwich, shaped iced biscuit (the butterflies look nice). I can highly recommend this bakery

I have been a few times. Best decaf coffee I have ever tasted. Beautifully presented. We booked a table for lunch in July. Lovely menu choices. Looking forward to it,

Food and service was lovely, I'd just say if you are too busy and the table is late for your booking and you are asked to stand at the bar....pls offer me a drink 🤦

Had our annual visit to New Mills for the bonfire but mainly for this chippy! Lovely service, great food. Just what you need on a cold night. Always busy but worth the wait

Saturday 28th December 2024 This is the best real ale pub in new mills a small quaint 2 floored micro pub A good Landlord and clien telle the beers all from small breweries one from tor side brewery and this great little gem for real ale drinkers drinking in New Mills is a definite essential visit Well done all involved 👏

Stopped in for lunch time bite to eat with the dog after walking from Hartington. Great pub, good food, decent selection of local beers. Friendly landlord, made us all feel welcome. Dog loved the treats! Highly recommend a visit. We will be back.

Found this hidden gem towards the end of a ten mile walk. Only had a pint so did not try the food. Nice old traditional pub with plenty of in and outdoor seating. Worth seeking out

Great Food, even better people. We were here for a company evening out. Everything genuine sicilian. They have a wide selection of wines, brews and Cocktails. I will be dreaming about the food.

yes yes wot a bangin place. Needed some scran and this is the place to go. Yes it is obviously the cheapest quality that you can get but being on universal credit I am strapped for cash so I have to visit these places. There is nowhere else I can get a pack of cigs and a breakfast for a tenner so this is the shizzle. Most people won’t feed this food to their dog but I haven’t got much dollar so this place deserves a medal. It makes a nice treat so I don’t have to visit the food bank and I get to be waited on like a king for under a tenner! 8/10

Excellent chippy in the town centre. Called in after walking in the valley. I had a lovely large cod only £5.50 and a small chips £2.00 which was actually a large portion. The fish was large with lovely white flesh and a very good thin crispy batter. Well worth the money. Chips were fine but had better elsewhere but still good, I sat on a bench and really enjoyed my lunch. Staff in the shop very friendly especially the guy with the tattoos.

The price is hard to justify; the pastry was ok but wasn't all butter shortening. As for the mincemeat filling, the pie contained about a teaspoonful. My last visit ....

As grandparents we were here with 2 small children, Staff were very friendly, the food excellent & good value too. Everything was exceptional. Recommended!

Even though im local, i don't come here often really. However, tonight, i dropped in with a friend. I was served really quick. The pub had a good selection of Robinson's beer on, amongst the regular stock. The music was at a decent level, where you could hold conversations and the atmosphere was quite chilled. There was a good mix of young and old and i got chatting to some of the regulars ( as my friend knew them). It seems a pub that you can either sit on your own with a book or newspaper, or mix and mingle. I'm making an effort to get out more, especially local. So I'll no doubt be back. PS..no food rating as i don't know if food is done here, i didn't look.

I came here for a full English breakfast and it was really nice. In fact i struggled to eat it all, and i usually always manage the extra large breakfast in most places. Which shows that you get value for money. The last time i actually came In here for a drink was probably 8-10 years ago, so I can't really leave a review based on that.
