Went into Shaws yesterday morning for a pie. As I had dropped off my car at the local garage and wanted something warm. I had a curry pasty and whilst it was nice I was shocked at the price of £3.10. I could have said no but I was hungry. I then looked up the price board and then became even more shocked at prices for a warm meat and potato at £3.70. Will not be going there again!

The price is hard to justify; the pastry was ok but wasn't all butter shortening. As for the mincemeat filling, the pie contained about a teaspoonful. My last visit ....

My favorite bakery and place to eat in town, always pop in on a journey through. Sandwiches, cakes, bakes, hot food specials (order in advance just in case). Always made welcome and price is right. 2 mins from new mills new town and 10 mins walk from new mills central and bus stop over the bridge.

This is the best bakers in town. They make the best butties and very well priced. They make cakes to and they look out of this world.

We live in cape Town and last week we wanted to surprise my father-in-law with a birthday cake where they were celebrating in Disley. Within a few hours of contacting Shaws Rachel had taken the order, baked and decorated the cake and went the extra mile to deliver it to the restaurant where they would be having dinner. We were told that the cake was "decadently delicious" and it was beautiful as well. Thank you for the friendly and efficient efforts!

Good cakes and pastries = Shaws. The vanilla slices are to die for, the butterfly cream cakes are sublime, as for the rest I will let you decide.

Shaws is the best place to go the morning after a night out for a nice bacon butty and a cake. It always makes you feel better and it is service with a smile.

Absolutely love it here, getting lost in the great selection of books then into the cafe where the service is amazing and the food is outstanding. So lucky that we live close by.

Visited here 17th April late afternoon. Have been a few times before and enjoyed it. My wife and I ordered a bottle of wine between us from the bar. £28 it was. I am fine with that. But towards the end of the bottle I noticed on the wine racks where bottles of wine are for sale the same bottle. All bottles have two prices , a take out price and a " drink in " price. Understandable. The bottle in question had a take out price of @ £6.50 and a "drink in " price of @ £21.50. I wonder why I was charged £28. There is a sign saying corkage will be charged but is not corkage the difference between the two prices? The barman who served me was not around for the last 10 minutes we were there so I could not ask him. I was not going to cause any fuss with the younger members of staff there so we finished the bottle and left. I wouldnt mind someone explaining these price differentials to me. Otherwise we are reasonable fans of this bar.

Just had a lovely traditional Thai dinner with friends. Everything was delicious! We will be back! Great to see Gluten Free options on the menu in their own section!

Good coffee, friendly staff, and actually in the station so handy for leaving it to the last minute to go for the train. I've not rated the food (so that's a "don't know" not a "horrible") as I only ever order tea or coffee, but the free bikkies are welcome

Great place and friendly, helpful staff. Such a shame they don't get more support.
