Nice local pub in the heart of New Mills. Nicely presented interior and very well presented food for a pub. I enjoyed the cask beer, but would have really liked a locally brewed choice. Prices are very reasonable too!

Delicious, good prices, no rush, warm, cute atmosphere. It's probably a regular shop for local people.

Literally just been in this place after a hectic morning. Looking for a little food and relax with a beer. Gentleman behind the bar was rude to begin with. We had a young child with us after waiting an hour for a food order. Then as we went to complain the chap who I deem to possible be the Manager was even ruder than the bartender. How to make sure paying customers NEVER return to a venue In reply to your reply, I have been in the customer service industry myself for 40 years, however your reply just shows your failure to understand of any of the above, just confirms the negative feedback. I shall indeed feel free never to return thank you for confirming that. I'm sorry an 82 year old man stepping two steps into your bar area frightened your staff that much, but you're right we ordered 4 toasties and a portion of fries and an hour later came to ask what was happening to the high handed reply that they hadn't been started yet! But judging by other reviews over the last few months we're not the only disappointed ones and anyone who raises an issue becomes the problem it seems

Friendly staff but we visited at 2pm on a Sunday and no roast beef. All the had for a "roast" was chicken or gammon.

Fish & Chips and pint of Diet Coke came to over £20. Was hoping the food would justify the extreme price but sadly not, it was very poor. 28/06/24 11.33am £20.45

Absolute grump of a member of staff a female who was so rude to customers and the absolute worst pint of Timothy Taylor’s I’ve ever tasted flat within minutes and served in a dirty glass shall not be back again the whole pub was dirty

Been in this week and wow 😮 the staff work so hard, we had the full English breakfast, it was top notch and the service was too ,we can’t recommend them enough, a true gem of a place in a lovely Derbyshire village.

Not been here for a while, and frankly, we were disappointed after previous experiences. Dropped in for lunch and a couple of drinks. The food was as palatable as ever, but the member of staff on duty is clearly in need of a personality transplant. Off-hand and surly service.

Steak and ale pie to die for, excellent and lovely gloomy gravy. Will definitely go again.

Called in for a quick lunch on Wednesday. There us a limited menue on wednesday but still loads to choose from. The main menue is extensive. Very friendly and dog friendly. Excellent prices was really impressed. Will be comming regularly

The gentleman behind the bar needs an attitude transplant. Forgot our order, denied we ever placed it. Everyone else was nice enough. Chips were banging though.

Walked in for a quick bite to eat. Staff aggressively rude. I asked for menu was told it’s at end of bar. I asked where I order she said at bar. She then proceeded to walk away and not take my order so I walked out. Food could have been excellent but I will never know.

Haven't eaten here just called for a drink, Glasses above bar are dusty, skirting boards are dusty and dirty, wonder what kitchen is like !! Needs a good clean in my book!! Other wise could be a lovely pub 🤔

I can’t comment on the food as yet as I haven’t tried it but have been told it’s amazing 🤩, but the Saturday night atmosphere in this little diamond is great, nice beer in front of a coal fire on a cold night can’t be beaten

The food, when it arrived, was brilliant. There was a wait for food as they were short staffed.

We were visiting the area for the weekend so this was our first visit tonight. The food was really good, big portion sizes and the staff were friendly and accomadating. Definitely recommend

Great food, Great staff. We went for a birthday meal our adult daughter is celiac. Staff gave options of what she could and couldn't have and were excellent with recommendations. She had a chicken and bacon salad really enjoyed it. She could have had about 4 or 5 other dishes.

Went in to meet up with family. There was a 50th do on at the same time. Place was rammed. Good atmosphere, no sign of any trouble. Staff quick to serve on what must have been a busy night for them and always polite.

Crisp ale pie, big size dish with a handmade dessert, a nice experience.

The best pub in New Mills with a friendly atmosphere and quality food. Just had Bacon Brie sausage rolls and a cappuccino it was delicious .

The guy behind the bar was just rude unprofessional and did not like anyone who was not local

So iv been in before and its been good but I've had stale and soggy cake befor witch was nasty and i just went in agen to see how it was if it eny better the guy was so rude defo had a problem even to the point it make the 2 of us very uncomfortable

We call in often as it's our local and never have any complaints. We always enjoy the food, the breakfasts are on point and very delicious. we had a Sunday dinner today, and it was nice. I'd recommend. 100%

Lovely place and friendly owners

We booked a table for an evening meal on arrival we approached the bar and announced our arrival, our table was pointed out to us over in the corner, then we were told come back to the bar and order there's no table service here, so we bought our drinks at the bar and went and sat down quickly realising that we had to get the menus ourselves off the bar, all four meals were disappointing and one arrived 7 minutes after the others 2 of us had hunters chicken and the chicken was barely warm, nobody asked if our meals were ok we ate what we could of them finished our drinks and left not a goodbye thanks or even a smile from any staff as we left.

I'd been waiting to try Pride of the Peak out since before COVID. Sadly, it was a disappointing experience. This place needs some serious TLC, dirty outside eating area, waitress tripped up on a cigarette packet on the floor, there were Dimps everywhere. The full English breakfast was very tasty until I found a long black hair under my eggs. Waitress said sorry without making eye contact. Most establishments would have been horrified. A quick sorry, just didn't cut it. My wife stopped eating. Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon, which is really disappointing as I'd waited so long to try this place out. I recommend hair nets or a least, hair tied back. Someone also needs to clean the areas where they expect you to eat.

Hard to judge atmosphere as we've been really afternoon and we're the only ones in. Staff great and chatty, cakes were great. Big TV for sports. Not my usual preferred style/decor of pub. Love the cornflake cake.

Great food to be had here. I have had poached egg when I want a healthy breakfast and when I need a more they have cooked me a grand vegetarian breakfast that sees me through at least a day! The cakes look amazing too but you have to stop somewhere!

Paulicarus making his first ever visit to New Mills. Opposite the quick turnaround bus station and close to New Mills Central train station. Only one real ale on today; a good pint of Ossett Butterly. Taylor's Boltmaker was off. Interesting place for food; especially cakes. Also advertising a Spanish Med Night menu. Had Green Lipped Mussels in Madrid once...Paulicarus says once was enough. Nice back beer garden soaking up the July rain. Pleasant interior.

The pride of the peaks is fantastic .food is very very good never had a bad meal yet. Landlady shellie and Staff willing to help with your needs. Top off my list .afternoon tea to Sunday dinner can not fault anything. 10 out of10 every time.

Wonderful food, lovely friendly large pub. Children and the pooch were very welcome. lovely area, we walked along the millennium walk after. As a family (dog included) we all throughly enjoyed....Will be going back again.

Unfortunately food wasn’t available when we first arrived and an estimate of when they would begin serving again wasn’t really available. However as we were about to leave and find food elsewhere, orders began again, and we really enjoyed what we had to eat. Would visit again, perhaps on a quieter day!

Only had a drink a couple of times but nice place. Will try a meal sometime. Outdoor space looks nice.

Probably the best roast I’ve had in my life time. Very dog friendly pub, staff are welcoming and pour a great Guinness!!! Perfect place after a long walk!

Nice pub , had a good out side seating area. No food though so we went somewhere else. We did however buy some cakes from here. Never again 😒

I live down near London now as I moved away and always visit here, I've been visiting this place for 20+ years but since 2005 they have had the same landlord and the same land lady, Jimmy and shelly, they have made pride of the peaks into a great place, the breakfasts here are cheap as chips but of good quality and 10/10 for presentation and service, good atmosphere always, good food served dinner and tea, good choice of ales but a very loving and personal touch is what makes it, great with children from newborn upwards, dogs welcome, so all in all a great family orientated pub, they raise money for various charities etc and keeps the community together See you next time round Jimmy n shelly

Lovely lunches & a really good menu. Lovely roast lunch. Very good friendly staff. We were in a party of 10 & all meals came out together. Parking is close by but not very suitable for any disabled people as it's a fairly steep short walk from the car park unless you can park on the roadside but the times are a bit limited. Very popular place.

Only been here twice but both times the food is delicious! Always go for the specials board. The staff are attentive and will definitely be back compliments to the chef!

such a bad place to go for food. The staff seem incredibly unbothered about their customers. it took me over 30 minutes just at served for drinks and had to wait for 20 minutes for our food. Food was nothing special and bland. The service is shocking and I was incredibly unhappy with the treatment I received I will not be going back and I wouldn’t advise any of my friends or family or anybody reading this review to go there.

I have just been victim to easily the single worst pizza/meal I have ever been presented. Truly offensively horrendously bad food. Luckily I paid on a company card. If it was my money I would have asked for a refund. Instead After a few bites I was so gutted and hungry I just got up and left and went the chippy over the road instead

Call this the Pride of the Peaks The selection is just Carlsberg and Guinness. There's no local beers. And definitely no 'Real Ale' so that's a lie.

Dog friendly pub. Stopped in for a coffee and toasted sandwich and we were very pleasantly surprised. Large garden with a couple of covered pods. Not that we needed them as it's a lovely sunny day and the garden is a real sun trap. Food was delicious and plenty of it. Toasted ham and cheese sandwich came with lots of salad and a pot of home made coleslaw. We will definitely return.

Lovely place with a varied menu at a reasonable price. Very clean and the staff were very attentive. The duck with couscous and pomegranate was delicious. Would highly recommend

Great option for lunch with a good choice of dishes from small plates to a full meal and all very reasonably priced

We saw a Facebook post for Sunday lunch for the Pride Of The Peaks and as we had been out shopping thought why the hell not. Believe me when I say it was the best decision we had made in a long time. The portion size was enough to feed a family but as the food was so tasty I ate every morsel. We had roast lamb cooked to perfection and hardly a spot of fat, much to the disappointment of my dog. The homemade Yorkshire pudding I could of climbed it as it was that tall. Oh and lets not had seen the desserts as we walked in teasingly displayed in a glass fridge. I was by this point full but had seen the newly made banoffee cheesecake so what did I do...of course I ordered a slice and almost made myself sick because I just needed it
