Just been there for a meal. Food was excellent. Service friendly and very good. Well worth a visit.

Incredible food, service and prices! Would definitely recommend! Their homemade chips were thick so I was expecting some hard ones, but no! Every single once was light and fluffy! I don’t know what sorcery they use in that kitchen but it’s amazing. The quality of all of their food was really good and they have to softest chocolate fudge cake, you’d have to try to understand! They use proper vanilla ice cream with it too, not the cheap stuff! It’s not sickly either, they make it perfectly. (Not stayed in their hotel, only been in for food)

Old pub, so old building. Rooms basic. Clean. Bed comfortable, although not used to double these days only king. Coffee, tea making. Toiletries provided. Excellant restaurant and food. Service good. Need to get rid of chipped plates though. Would not recommend rooms for anyone mobility problems. Too many stairs. Situated on busy A6 road, but didn't find it a problem. Ideal for touring Peak District.

Worst food I've ate my entire life. No wonder they only charge £16.95 for 3 courses. Not even worth a fiver. Was that bad it was actually laughable, so if you fancy a giggle it's actually worth a visit. Never been home cooked in it's life as they advertise. Burnt, frozen Yorkshire pudding. Cold, frozen veg. Chewy, overcooked meat. They even managed to mess up a fudge cake for dessert. Was drier than Gandhi's flip flop. Even the beer had bits floating around in it.

Booked a table for Christmas Lunch, starter and main course were great, sadly dessert was awful. Christmas pudding served with chocolate sprinkles and canned cream, such a shame as the rest of the meal was 5 star.

The pub itself was nice and two very nice girls was great but there was a rude man on the bar and the food over priced and average and they was playing some weird music to loud

Royal Bar and Grill is an excellent choice for families! The food is delicious, including the burgers, pizza, pasta, and risotto. They also have great kids' meals, and the ice cream is fantastic! The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for a family outing. Highly recommended for a delightful Italian treat for everyone in the family.

One member of staff was very friendly and decent, knew his customer service. Another who I assume is the manager is extremely rude, rushes you to take orders. Speaks as if he's incharge of you. Awful for someone of his role

As soon as we arrived, the waitress lady took our drinks orders and promptly brought the drinks and menus. Great start. A short time after, the waiter guy took our orders. I asked him if the steak came with mushrooms. The answer was "No, we don't do mushrooms". Oh ok, I would've asked for mushrooms but clearly no point. Eventually after quite a long wait the starters came. Paté and toast, but the toast was bearly toasted. Regardless, it was nice enough, but what took them so long? We were the only customers in the house. The mains came and our sides of onion rings were a bit burnt. The waiter noticed and kindly swapped them for some more. But they were kind of soggy. I thought battered onion rings would be nice and crispy, but no. It was like they were reheated. On the plus side, the steak was done perfectly and the chips were great. But I would have rather had peas and mushrooms than carrots and broccoli. Who wouldn't? 😄 It's a nice place, nice atmosphere, friendly staff but they need to pull their finger out sometimes. And remember - it's peas and mushrooms for steak, not carrots and broccoli 👍🏻

Loved it. My partner and I went for Sunday lunch. He had lamb roast and I had the best mushroom risotto. We both had the excellent honeycomb cheesecake for dessert. Cosy country pub decor and polite staff. Really excellent food. We'll both be visiting again and recommending to friends.

Great little pub with great food and inexpensive (large) pours of wine. Really enjoyed our meal and experience after a big hike up kinder scout.

Food was tasty and there was plenty of it.

Ordered Halloumi and courgette starter, they brought me one with chorizo sausage instead. I bit into it and spit it out. When queried, we were told there was a mix up in the kitchen. No sufficient apology given by them. The waiter was young and very inexperienced, so I thought maybe it's his inexperience that meant he didn't apologize profusely. But, my friend then told a regular member of staff, and yet again, not entusuastic apology. Main of penne vegetarian arrive, Very bland and tasteless. This isn't the first time I have dined here, but it will definitely be my last. In 33years of being vegetarian, this is up there with the worst experiences I have had.

Nice traditional village pub in the centre of Chapel-en-le-frith. An excellent menu and warm welcome awaits you , great service and mouthwatering food, will visit again.

A really enjoyable New Year’s Eve with family and friends. The food was very good 5 had steak all cooked as ordered. Service was good, lovely atmosphere not too busy. Nice entertainment and fireworks at midnight capped it off. Kadir was perfect host. Lovely bar and restaurant.

Lovely warm and cosy pub with the absolute best food in the area.

I stopped in here with a friend after a long (and soggy) hike around Combs Moss. I was so glad to find this place, it was warm, friendly and the food was great! Perfect after a long walk, my friend had the (huge!) mixed grill. Will be visiting again!

Welcoming, friendly and the lamb chops are heaven on a plate. Just be patient as one waitress is just not enough.

Took my dad for a belated father's day roast dinner. Have to say was very disappointed, food was well below par, potatoes tasted recooked and and meat was tough. The table was prepared when we arrived and had to be cleaned. Won't be returning.

Absolutely awesome food, not your average pub grub at all. Fantastic quality fresh authentic dishes, full of flavour. Great staff and service, we've booked for Dinner tonight also! Nice outside areas under cover or open and inside is a lovely homey pub feel. Well worth a visit.

What a lovely end to our holiday with a wonderful meal . The salmon & risotto was delicious & the staff were very friendly & attentive. Compliments to the chef for the meal & also for offering such a wide range of food . We will certainly visit again when in the area 😃felt covid safe too .

What a great hotel with nice rooms and good food. A little gem in a central location in Chapel. Stayed at Bank Holiday and they were busy but so friendly. Loved the decor touches and the comfortable room. Thanks, Kadir and well done to the Lady of the house and Matthew and the lads who kindly served us.

We had prebooked a table and rang to say we were going to be late, the restaurant was very accommodating and understanding of this. 4/5 of us enjoyed our food very much, the portion sizes were extremely generous (I received 2 fillets of sea bass with my order, another guest received 5/6 lamb chops with theirs, risotto was overflowing with mussles etc) and the food came out relatively quickly, however there were a few aspects that let the visit down. We were told there was no baby changing so I had to go and change my babys nappy in the boot of my car, the service was friendly enough however quite chaotic (we were served by 5 different staff members throughout our meal and struggled to get anyone's attention when we wanted to ask for menus/more drinks/to order etc) and none of the staff (or customers that I could see) wore masks or visors. The bill was £145 for 5 adults and a child, we all had at least 2 courses each and given the portion sizes I would say it's value for money. I would visit again if I was in the area, but definitely expect it to be a relaxed, leisurely meal.

A poorly presented menu, unenthusiastic waiters, and very poor food. I had courgette and halloumi for a starter, which was ok but took a long time to be served and was a little bit bland. For my main course I had veggie burgers, which were drowned in a potent, overly garlic sauce. They weren't really burgers, however, rather an assortment of peppers, mushrooms, spinach, and onions. Also, the menu did not say what the "burgers" actually contained, which isn't ideal for someone who despises mushrooms. This review would be one star if not for the chips, which were very nice. For dessert, profiteroles, which weren't awful, but weren't exceptional.

No covid restrictions or guidance in place In Morrisons they say no mask no entry They should do the same Randoms entering with no mask. Felt.really uncomfortable. Won't be back until they sort this massive problem out

Stayed at the Royal Court whilst on a trip to Peak District and can't speak highly enough about hospitality we recieved. Excellent service, friendly staff and lovely food. Definetly recommend it.

The only thing that spoils it unfortunately is a little kid who i believe is the son of one the owners running around with no face mask and helping himself with the profiteroles from the fridge by the kitchen touching the deserts of the fridge with his fingers and all Just a little suggestion, to have a bit more control over the kid But again great food and lovely staff

We had a fantastic meal at the Royal! Really attentive staff, the restaurant itself is really nice and the food was fantastic across the board! Couldn't recommend more highly - very impressed

Firstly, I do not know to what hotel the people who gave good reviews have been to, but certainly not this one. Just had a weekend away and stayed 2 night in this place. Let me give u a quick summary of what to expect: You pull into the carpark and you are "greeted" by lots of rubbish that litters the place, the area at the back of the pub is full of cigarette buts and the like. My dog found some plastic pipe from a sink to play with😕. The welcome from the manager was not what you expect. The check in is from 12pm but at 14.30 when we arrived, the manager mumbled some apologies that he didn't know we were coming and the room is not ready. We also put in the booking we are coming with a dog but he was not aware of this, although the place is advertised as pet friendly.. We had a beer and waited in the beer garden for the room to be made ready, not a complimentary beer I might add. After a 4 hour drive you expect to be checked in straight away. Th beer garden was in the worst state I saw one to date: litter, broken down furniture, dead plants, dirty tables..not very inviting. The room was acceptable, but there were some issues: bed too soft and bouncy, not very good for your back, pillows deflated, hence 2 pillows in one cover, bed cover was very poor quality, synthetic, no cotton in sight, stains on the decorative cusions, bathroom with no ventilation giving a stale smell in the room, expired condensed milk (some of the containers had brown looking milk in them). On top of that, sleep quality was bad due to locals in the pub that had a fight until 1am one night. Yes, it's a pub, I would expect some noise but not so late in the night. The food was decent but a few issues there as well: eggs quite raw, I like mine soft but not half cooked. Chips for dinner meal looked like they've been fried in oil that hasn't been changed in a while... In general the service in the pub was ok, the Italian guy who served us was very attentive and apologised for the noise on the one night the pub was opened till late. This is the only reason I gave one star. Will we go there again? NO! Stick to a traditional B&B rather then a room above a pub. We have stayed in budget B&Bs before but I have to say this was the worst by far.

Booked a room for the night to be told there to busy to even serve me drinks so had to go and get a drink and e at elsewhere.

Drink prices don't match the prices on the menu—no table service. Asked for a menu and sat in the beer garden and nobody came to take my order. Beer garden not very well kept for.

Had a wonderfull meal in lovely surroundings. There was lots of interesting choice on the menu and cooked fresh. Staff were polite and attentive and offered a great service. I would recomend the muscles, the steak and my favourite the lamb swinger was delicious.

Tasty big portions of food and great attentive staff. They waited on us hand and foot and they went the extra mile for each of us. I had great breaded cheese with sweet chilli sauce starter, then the pizza was massive. My friends enjoyed their meal and the baby loved throwing hers on the floor. Can't recommend enough. Parking across the road.

We had booked to stay at the Royal Oak Hotel so the change of name confused us. However the place us great, full of atmosphere, the staff very friendly and the food delicious. The full breakfast was wonderful and our dinners superb.

Had a great lunch here with my family , very professional service , waited a while for the food but luckily we were not starving.

We have been to the Royal Oak many times before to eat Italian meals which we cannot recommend highly enough. This time we had Sunday lunch, beef and lamb. They were wonderful. If we had to give them marks out of 10 we would easily award the Royal 12. Thanks fir a wonderful couple of meals with superb service. Mr Silky. New Mills.

Food is very nice and prices reasonable for the quality of the food. The hotel, on the other hand, was very disappointing. The shower was too small for comfortable use, the room was extremely noisy and there was no closable storage. I would not return.

Visited here in June 2019 for my daughters 21st. The staff cant do enough for you and are so friendly with excellent customer service. The food was well cooked and presented beautifully. The menu is varied with cheaper options available. We had starters, mains and drinks and the bill was £45 for 2 of us which was great value. They also welcome dogs in the bar area where you can also dine. There is a separate dining area where dogs are not aloud for people who are not dog lovers. I would highly recommend this place and will be visiting again. :)
