We had a tapas meal here whilst we where on a short trip in the area . The food was great as was the service .

Beautiful Sunday carvery! The beef was so tender and a great selection of vegetables. Wonderful price. My ONLY compkaint was that I couldn't eat it it all lol. I will recommend this place. We have had breakfast here on another occasion and that was great too. Well done to all the hard working staff. See you next season.

Amazing home made lasagna. And lovely service with a smile

It's for 18 to 30s very expensive in the summer months.

Good food, good service, value for money, good atmosphere, would return here again. I had the special stew, very good. 4 visited, all meals excellent.

We've been here 3 times now and it's added as the must goto place for us to eat if we are at Skeg. Gluten free fish and chips at it's best. However, one word of warning, bring your apatite, they do not scrimp on servings. I have the fisherman's basket which is chips, mushy peas,fish, fishcakes and scampi with a pot of tea and all for under £12. Amazing 👏

I went here with my girlfriend and we were seriously impressed. Finally found a place that knows how to cook prawns properly—and they were huge, like real king size. We had three starters, two mains, and drinks, and everything was absolutely spot on. I had the fillet steak, cooked to perfection. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Honestly, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Big thanks to the staff who served us and to the chefs—amazing job.

According to this page, supposed to be open today, 21st December 24, 5pm - 9:30pm. Called round at 8pm, closed. No wonder local businesses fold. On the upside, our local Chinese takeaway, Ruby in North Somercotes, similar price, far quicker to serve and tastes just as good, if not better. Bye bye China Rose 👋

We chose this pub for a Saturday lunchtime family celebration, as some of us live in the south and others in the north, and it was half way between the different locations. We have done the same before, and the food was lovely then, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. On this occasion, both were even better. The food was excellent, our waitress understood the importance of the meal to our family, and we were extremely well looked after as a result. The Reindeer is unassuming on the outside, but the staff and the food make it a gem on the inside!

The food is ok….the service is embarrassing…overly familiar ,patronising and intrusive and what’s more they charge for it !

During our mini break at Church Farm Escapes, we visited the Chequers three times, the first time just for drinks, the second time for lunch, the third time for an evening meal. We were treated really warmly, as were our dogs. The pub is a traditional old pub serving proper pub grub, really good and varied menu and all food was enjoyed by us all. Very reasonably priced also. It is dog friendly, half of the pub allows dogs, the other half doesn’t so it caters for all. Great outside space also and some undercover space. Highly recommend and will definitely return in the future. Huge thanks to all the staff we encountered, we were looked after so well.

This restaurant appears to be closed down. The telephone number is not recognised. My husband has just driven down there and there is no-one there and no lights on. It is closed.
