Very quick service....too quick for freshly cooked food. The food wasn't the good standard a genuine Chinese restaurant should make. It was edible but not genuine. Portions are decent but overpriced for what you're actually getting. Pretty sure the owner sat in the restaurant when we arrived and didn't even say hello. Just looked up at us from her table and disappeared when we sat down. I feel there's a lot more to be desired here. Shame as we would have come back but it's just not worth the money.

Had a delivery as we are on holiday and it was delicious. From the ribs to vermicelli everything was cooked beautifully. Will definitely be a returning customer

On holiday 1st time ordering from here and I am so disappointed in the food as reviews were good.Very polite man when ordering and a very polite lady delivering but that's where the good comments end unfortuantely.Salt & pepper/chilli dishes were so salty was hard to taste anything else. Duck chow mein was again really salty duck was dry and worst of all was the extremely dry noodles never seen or tasted anything like it before and I have eaten from alot of chinese takeaways before. Overall the food was lacking any other flavouring.

The food was OK. We opted for takeaway, and it was ready for us very quickly. (Perhaps too quickly as we never had time to drink the drinks we ordered while waiting). I ordered the Black pepper sauce chicken with fried rice as in pic ❤️

Outstanding food great friendly staff clean restaurant we are here on a holiday but when we are next here we will be coming again would definitely recommend if your in the area.

Food was cold / barely luke warm the aromatic duck was very nice but everything else was very bland

Waiters were okay, one didn’t know how to use the order taking tablet right and missed one item we ordered, But they both polite. Food was of average standards so was okay. Overall 4 stars which I do think is fair, special thank you the English girls who helped my wife with the things down the stairs.

Egg fried Rice tasted disgusting .had before but this time it tasted reheated .prawn crackers tasted og old oil Rest of meal was warm .ordered on line for a collection time. I think it might of been made up a while before we arrived

Not very appealing on first impressions but can't judge a book by its cover (plus the reviews were great).... had a take away and it was delicious, lovely green Thai curry and hubby had a lovely chicken and mushroom curry. Service was quick and friendly..definitely worth a visit x

The food is good, the table is a bit crowded, you have to go up to the first floor, there is no elevator so disabled people can't use it, for up to £20 you can eat well and drink something, no parking

I ordered a takeaway on Friday night and was told it was gluten-free. Turns out it was not and I am now feeling the consequences as someone with a gluten intolerance 🤢 All I can say is it is a good job I haven’t been hospitalised, because I know people who would’ve been.

Been twice this week, they got a set menu if you'd prefer thats really reasonably priced and delicious. The restaurant itself is lovely and if you sit at the booths you can see all over the high street. Best Chinese in town.

Had a delivery to the nearby Grange leisure park .The food was hot and really tasty.Would recommend to anyone

Had a takeaway from here it was cold when arrived. Portions small very disappointed won't be ordering again. And not feeling well since eating it.

For me China Rose was the Best Chinese food I had tasted but since March 2023 It has plumeted so low I shall notgo there again. first I ordered Duck Thai red cryy and not only did they give me chicken but the sauce was so thin it may have water, before it was really tasty. This week I oredered Chicken Sweet and Sour and there not enough sause , Very very disappointing try another restaurant

A very pleasant surprise! My first time in China Rose. Nice decor and very clean. Two young girls serving were very helpful and polite. Food arrived promptly and was excellent yet reasonably priced! Ticks all the boxes.

Careful if you have allergies!! Yesterday we ordered food for 9 people. Starters and main dishes. Whilst the food itself was mostly ok, we had lots of trouble with allergy declaration. Our daughter is a celiac and one of the guests wad allergic to nuts. I asked on the phone and again when picking up the food. They said nuts were only in the chicken satay, at home we saw, that another one of the dishes was made with cashew. It was all supposed to be gluten free. I sent the waitress back to the kitchen to ask for the starters as well. It was supposed to be fine. But at home we checked and there was springrolls, Toast and lots of fried stuff made with dough. No way that was gluten free. So we could not trust the rest of the info either and our daughter had to watch us eat 😭

Food was cold staff very ignorant very loud and annoying telly phone ringing in the background and the prices far to expensive will not be rushing back.

We always make a point of eating at the China Rose when we are in Mablethorpe, and I must say that the food has been excellent every single time. Not only is the food up there with the best Chinese food we've ever eaten, but the service has always been very good, the food reasonably priced and the drinks also have been well priced and good quality. We have always eaten fairly early and the restaurant has always been very quiet (just how we like it) but I'm sure it must get busier later on due to the superb food. Thank you to the owner and staff at the China Rose and we hope to see you in the New Year when you reopen.

Fantastic tasty food delivered to camp site in about 30 minutes,salt and pepper chips, salt and pepper chicken and salt and chilli ribs, cooked to perfection,will definitely order again, ordered again and tried the chicken chow mein,it was also fantastic,also tried the mixed starter this was also very tasty.

Best Chinese food I've had in a long time.

Read the reviews, mostly 5 stars, so went along to check it out. The food was very nice, reasonably priced and they gave us decent portions too. The servers were good as well. Friendly and fast.

On a midweek break and fancied something different. Delivered by a friendly lady. Food was amazing, would definitely order again.

Ok food, however terrible service, food came out semi-cold. I asked them to heat it up and had to wait 20 minutes for my sides, making my main go cold again!!

We have previously been coming here for 5 years every year on a family holiday. Had a meal here for 19 guests however was divided in groups so not ordering for the full 19 at a time. The food wasn’t too bad however the service was poor. The servers could not remember our orders and was missing items, items came out in random orders. Each group was missing items so had to wait a long time for everyone to get their food or eat your food way before someone received theirs. Had to wait 20 minutes for sides of the mains and had to ask for dishes to be reheated as either they came out cold or was cold before the sides came out. The servers had poor customer service skills so didn’t really know how to deal with the issues. We tried to be polite and remind them of what we was missing and for things to be reheated but there was no responsibility was taken for the problems. Food was put in the microwave to be reheated not in the pan as dishes was also hot with the dish when other food was served in cold dishes.

Excellent evening dining out. We received a warm greeting, the staff are friendly and helpful. The food was really lovely and a good choice of wines too. We will definitely visit again when we are next down that way. It is a lovely restaurant, we dined early as we hadn't booked and thought it would be busy later (it was getting busy before we finished our meal)

Entrance to this lovely gem of a place does not give the greatest first impression to be honest with you, however, if you continue on upstairs, you'll arrive at the reception for either the take away area or the restaurant x upon arrival we were greeted and seated quickly and given our menus, now the menu isn't extensive, and in my opinion this is a good thing, as it allows the chef/s to concentrate on turning out the best food given a small menu. We chose crabmeat & sweetcorn soup and won ton soup as our starters, so I was disappointed to note that the "crabmeat" was some cut up first sticks however the soup did have a good consistency and the won ton soup did not disappointing in anyway, the best won ton we had ever tasted! Again the special fried rice although not huge in quantity was of excellent quality and taste and a fantastic accompaniment to our Red Thai Prawn Curry & King Prawns & Scallops with ginger and spring onions, these two main dishes were of excellent standard, most notable however, was the Thai Red Curry flavourful with an unctuous sauce 😋 omg this could be drunk it was so good and plentiful xx followed by two very crispy fritters. With 2 rounds of drinks the final tally was just under £70 which in my opinion was an absolute blast. We will return here again, highly recommended xx

A very enjoyable meal, with good service and nice decor once you get upstairs. The food was all very tasty and fresh cooked. Definitely recommended.

We went at 5pm and the place is immaculate. The booths are a little tight for a bigger person but don’t let that put you off as they offer larger round tables. The staff are very kind and on the ball lovely people. I would give this place a 9/10 for its food not greasy at all very fresh and very hot. At first you think the portion sizes are small but they we generous enough for me and my family of 4, here are some pictures to enjoy I would recommend the visit. Be prepared to spend between £40-£60 for family of four well worth it with one round of drinks. EXCELLENT

Great takeaway food. We had the set meal and it was great value for money. The menu for takeaway is on here and restaurant prices as £1.50 to £2 dearer. Food in restaurant looked just as good. Highly recommended.

How can the experience be so different for different people? We had a takeaway last night & it was truly awful. As said before - save your money & go elsewhere. We completely wasted money on almost inedible food. Avoid!

Visit China Rose recently while on holiday in Mablethorpe for dinner with my wife and 2 kids 3 & 5. Staff were friendly, drinks and the food was served super fast. Portions were nicely sized and the food itself was great. Was a great find for a excellent Chinese. Worth noting you do need to climb some stairs to get to the restaurant, we had a push chair, wasn't a big deal and didn't affect the experience. Definitely worth a visit.

Not the best,not the worst we’ve had. Duck chow mein and special chow mein tasted burnt. Prawn crackers made up for it. Boiled rice was a solid block of stodge. !!

My family was on holiday a few weeks ago at golden sands, we discovered China rose last year...needless to say had a take away the other week. 5 star. Could not complain..i talked the rest out of chicken balls and we had king prawn balls along with a load of dishes! 10 out of 10...see you again in October!

First time order from here. So easy to order online. Speedy delivery by a friendly delivery guy. Food was hot, tasty and plentiful. Crispy beef and sweet and sour chicken balls delish. Don't know why we waited so long to try! Thank you.

Ordered 4 meals for takeaway two were totally wrong and the crispy duck was totally cremated and not edible.

The curry is green & unadable beef very suspect probably rat or cat ????

food wasn’t amazing but wasn’t the worst. chicken chow mein noodles taste burnt, salt and pepper chips didn’t have any flavour. egg fried rice was nice and prawn crackers.

Popped in for a takeaway meal when on a break really impressed with the food the ribs in BBQ sauce were very meaty and really good, the mixed sweet and sour fish was superb would use this place again

The chow mein was burnt and dry but we were so hungry we eat it! The beef was very over cooked. Such a shame. If we were eating in the restaurant we would have sent it back.

Good value tasty food. They have changed the menu so my favourite xo sauce is no longer on the menu and ok sauce which is in its place is not the same. Please bring back the xo sauce!! Apart from that, great food

This is one of my family's favorites restaurants! Such great homestyle authentic Chinese food, makes me feel like I'm back in China. We eat here quite often, every few weeks or so and order from the family menu, which is a great deal. Some of my faves are the seafood tofu soup, yang chow fried rice, seafood tofu hot pot, and anything kung pao.

Try it last night for birthday meal it was terrible chicken and porkwas wrong in so many levels beef was OK not recommend best Chinese is the gold sun

gave it a generous 4 but was probably a 3 & half . speedy delivery and was warm but when we opened the bag that’s when my world came crashing down, they had not put any prawn crackers in when we specifically asked for some, bearing in mind we spent £42 and most places usually throw a free bag in anyway, this was heartbreaking. they also missed my curry sauce off which they charged me for, oh and my 1/4 aromatic duck came with no sauce. “has tha nowt moist” basically it was dryer than gandhi’s flip flop and a nuns you know what. anyway back to the food. the food was bang on and very decent sized portions and i was saved by one of the party getting plenty of sauce in his dish. would of been a 5 if everything came, but story of my life is things going missing, not seen my old man since 1984 but that’s for another day . 👍

Really good food. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because it was an hour and half before we could collect. Wouldn't hesitate to go back, I'd just get my order in earlier.

Nice food with very quick and polite service

Very disappointed,the starter looked like it was purchased from Tesco's,the main was okish apart from the chow mein which smelt burnt and tasted burnt,when we asked about why? the waitress said that that is how it's cooked!! I have never had chow mein that was as supposed to be tasting burnt...do think it will be going back ever.

Recently visited our favourite Chinese restaurant in Mablethorpe. Whilst I gave it 5 stars before under the previous owners, I have now offered just 1 star with the current new owner. Visited July 21. (Keeping in mind my wife is Chinese) Salt and chilli squid. Dry and crispy, more like a prawn cracker. Dreadful! Salt and chilli king prawns, thick batter, dry and very over cooked Thai duck curry, more like a Chinese curry, dry duck. Singapore rice vermicelli, no where near what is should taste like, poor attempt at cooking a simple yet famous dish. I dont understand that when we go to China, even little back street food outlets, the food has generally all been as I expected, fresh and delicious. Why is it that most chefs for mainland China and lots more from Hong Kong just dont reproduce the heritage of Chinese cooking? Lots of onions, carrots to make the dish look fuller but the main ingredients are cooked poorly. Its not rocket science is it? Overall, very disappointing with lack of passion shown in preparing and cooking food for paying customers. Such simple dishes to prepare yet just not good enough, we wont be back.

Chicken curry didn't taste right one bite everything went in bin won't take a chance Chicken had a tang to it this evening. I'm not a fussy eater at all wont be buying again from here. Husbands beef curry tasted alright shame was looking gorward to a good Chinese for sons birthday
