Catered Hen Party weekend, we had fabulous catering for a themed evening on Friday and a formal evening on Saturday. Both evening the food was great, but the formal evening meal was stunning. The entire team were accommodating, friendly, and left no trace that they had even been in the kitchen. Highly recommend for any private dining event.

Amazing DJ playing and some great music. Music quiz later in the night but I’m sure the owner of the bar cheated 😂

This little restaurant saved our lives today - place we’d planned to visit shut - won’t be going anywhere else in Tideswell except “The Cherry Tree” in future. Superb selection of sensibly-priced fresh sandwiches, pasties and sweets - also dog food, but didn’t sample that. Friendly and efficient service, and theymake an excellent cup of coffee too. Till the next time, thank you!!!

What a great little pub in a great little location. The pub is just what you think of when you picture a cosy Peak District watering hole. Shame about Barry though. On our arrival we entered the pub to order our drinks, kids entered the dining room to sit while we ordered our drinks. Gentleman (Barry) behind the bar then told us to "get our kids out before they wrecked the dining room". We followed his orders and asked the kids to come out, no dramas. Had one round then went on our way for a walk. After a nice walk we entered back at the pub, by this time Barry was clearly stressed by the busyness of the place. I tried to order some ice cream and beers......absolute task due to how stressed he was. Out of our 3 round of drinks over the course of the day 2 of the drinks came with glasses with lipstick marks around them. To summarise...Great location, lovely looking pub, pudding of a landlord.

I don't usually bother to write reviews, however, we went to get fish & chips, as most of the reviews were outstanding. To say I was dissapointed is an understatement. My fish(£6.50) was almost all batter. Shocking, easily the worst fish & chip meal I have ever had. Should have gone to the chippy up the road, they had a long queue.

Just had a beautiful Sunday lunch at 'The George'. We sampled the turkey and roast pork dinners, everything was cooked to perfection, including light, crispy Yorkshire's and creamy cauliflower cheese. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the pub felt warm and inviting on a bitterly cold and windy day.
