This is a small quaunt cafe in Tideswell close to the village centre. Friendly staff and the food was very well priced, especially compared with similar places in the area.

They accommodated a walk in of 10 people on a Saturday afternoon with no issue which was great. The food was distinctly average however, the burgers were a dry with no sauce on them and the chips were too salty.

Busy little pit stop in the heart of Tideswell, stopped for a snack after a walk , cakes were large and lovely , coffee lacking slightly (Vanilla Latte either forgot to put the Vanilla in or just not enough) wouldn't put us off returning. All the staff friendly and efficient.

A very friendly cafe with consistently good food and great service. There is a good choice of food, including vegetarian, and the upstairs seating area is particularly nice.

Got takeaway quiche today, 2 pieces. Got home and the pieces were tiny! Literally one piece of quiche worth cut into two, feel a bit ripped off tbh. Would not go again, very poor value. Never seen quiche slices so small.

We weren't sure from the outside but went in and discovered tasty cake and good service. A tasty blackcurrant and apple slice for me and we ended up with treacle tart to take away. Popped back the next day for takeaway bacon sandwiches which were thoughtfully wrapped in foil, ideal for our walk. The sausage rolls looked interesting too but we haven't got to them, yet

Love this place. Such a friendly atmosphere with great food and staff. The deli is well stocked with both home made and other locally sourced produce. The pork pies are simply to die for, and the locally made chutneys are a super special treat. Lovely.

Well what can I say about this absolute Gem of a find on entering the staff was very welcoming the friendliest ever, it was very busy and hot but the staff pulled out all the stops to take care of the customers well done!!! when I ordered, well I can only say was the most absolutely delicious breakfast, cooked to perfection and the best local produce, you couldn't get any better, they even asked if my dogs would like fresh cold water on a very hot day, this is the easiest review to write as the whole experience was perfect the staff even gave advise on the walks to go on don't change a thing The Roost l will be back soon and Thank you.

What a place, firstly it was not clean the table top and floor dirty. We asked for a sandwich to eat in which came with crisps and salad, when our sandwich was ready it was just wrapped up In a bag to take away , so they clearly did not listen to what we had asked for, so when asked why is it in a bag , and where was the salad and crisps ? They just looked at us and rolled their eyes like we had asked for something crazy.. staff rude and not very welcoming !!!! When they brought the salad and crisps , it’s was a throw together salad and crisps in a try not even on a plate !!

Nice all-day breakfasts, including a veggie option, and decent coffee. Some awesome homemade cakes, with generous portions. Beware though - no hot food is available after 2:30pm. Even if you arrive before then and they don't get around to taking your order until 2:40. Even if you're a regular customer. Even if the only reason you've arrived just before 2:30 is that they were too busy earlier. Like everywhere at the moment they're clearly rushed off their feet and desperate for more staff. My last 4 attempts to eat here have all failed, so sadly I think it's time to give up.
