First visit to this wonderful pub for Sunday Lunch. Booked a table in advance which I am glad of as it was very busy. Very cosy pub, staff very welcoming. I had a Roast Pork Dinner and my husband had Steak & Ale Pie. Both meals were delicious and generous sized portion. Highly recommend. We will definitely be going back.

I have visited this pub 3 or 4 times over the last 12 months & always found it excellent. The menu is varied, competitively priced, always fresh veg & good sized portions. The is also an OAP's menu. If you fancy your cask ales then there are 3 choices to go at. What does it for me is how warm & friendly the staff are & they never rush you so creating a good atmosphere. So, all in all I would always recommend the Anglers for food as it ticks all the boxes for me when going out for pub food.

Six of us arrived here for Saturday night dinner - luckily we'd booked because the place was packed. Car park was almost full but luckily there's some on-road parking too. Good choice of local beers to try and a straightforward menu with lots of pub classics to select from. Friendly service and all the food arrived in a reasonable time considering how busy they must have been in the kitchen and the fact it's all home cooked. Big servings of really decent food served on nice hot plates, just say that none of us could manage a dessert afterwards. Someone had recommended the steak and stilton, that was apparently a good recommendation, everyone was happy with their meal. In summary highly recommended if you're looking for a decent no-frills meal in a pub with great atmosphere. Only downside was the tables seemed a bit close together but not a big downer. Remember to book your table!

The pub and its steak and stilton pie were recommended by the airb&b owner and as it was the closest venue we decided to give it a go. We were so glad we did as the pie was amazing and the portion size huge. The pub had a lovely atmosphere and dog friendly for those with and without (but love) them

Came half way through a lovely walk in Chee Dale. The walk took slightly longer than I expected so I rang ahead saying we'd be a little late and the staff were very understanding. Turned up to the nice cosy hikers bar where our reserved table was, which welcomed dogs and boots (a good job as we had both!), and we all had lovely meals - Two veggie lasagnas, one with chips and two with garlic bread, and one meat lasagna with garlic bread, and one steak and kidney pudding with mash & lots of veg. All really good hearty pub grub! We were tempted by the puddings too, and had apple pie with custard, ginger sponge with custard, and honeycomb cheesecake with cream. Everyone had a wonderful time and I'm already planning the next visit. Hooray!

As a coeliac, finding a GF lasagne is like heaven! However when it arrived, there was no pasta in it?! It was ragu in a dish with cheese on top. I was absolutely gutted after a long hike. A lovely pub/restaurant in Miller's Dale. Excellent food and lovely happy and welcoming staff. One point to mention is that if you plan to stay in the apartment- it has an external entrance that is accessed by a steep set of steps, and there is no handrail. The alternative is to walk along the lane to the main road and then walk along the road to the gate a distance of around 500 yards.

Nice food & service good. I did however advise at the time of booking that I had a 7 year old celiac granddaughter & was told that wasn’t a problem as they have an extensive gluten free menu available so I was a little disappointed when I was told I would have to pay for an adult meal as they wouldn’t supply a child’s portion. Whilst I cannot fault the quality of the food, the lack of toilet facilities causes me a major problem. Previously when we have visited here we were able to use the toilets belonging to the pub next door. Having mobility problems and on medication , I politely asked if it would be possible to use the staff WC. This was refused and I was told to use the public toilets which were a considerable distance away. It took me a very painful 25 minute walk to go there and back.I am 85 years old, leaning heavily on a walking stick . I feel very disappointed as i have visited this fish shop many times in the past.

Arrived around 10:45 am on 10/11/24 only to be informed that there was no hot food being served until 11:15 due to a take away order. Others in front of us left and we reluctantly ordered two coffees, a flapjack and a Pork Pie instead of the full cooked breakfasts we’d hoped for. We were charged twice for the Pork Pie, which we pointed out and were subsequently refunded for. We sat at a table that had the previous occupants breakfast plate on it (which was never cleared, considering the waiting on staff weren’t serving any food at the time) and waited for our coffee which did not arrive. We fetched it ourselves from the counter, at which point around 11:05, they started taking breakfast orders again. The place seemed poorly managed and why you’d turn away valued customers for a take away order is beyond me.
