The best restaurants in Amber Valley East Midlands

Absolutely beutiful food - one of the best curries myself and my partner have had. We even ordered the old school way phoning and collecting and glad we did. Owners are very friendly and even have us complimentary starters. Authentic feel and fair value. 100% recommend.

Just had a mammas hot pizza it was absolutely fantastic seriously that good hot fresh loads of topping dominos hang your heads in shame I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to yourselfs 5 star

I had a burger, the pulled beef on top was very weird! Didn't taste right. Got home that same day and was sick twice.

I was staying for business in the area and after trying many other places (due to distance not choice) I finally found the only place still serving food at 8pm; The White Hart. Very grateful of a friendly welcome and being quickly shown to my table I enjoyed a lovely meal with good service and at a reasonable price. Unfortunately with it being dark and me being in a rush after being turned away from multiple places I (as many have already mentioned) missed the signs in the car park and have just receive a fine. It would have been helpful to me if the barman or waitress had asked if I had a car in the car park and verbally explained the rules/requirements. I have just appealed the fine but it’s put a dampener on an otherwise good visit.

I almost don’t want to tell you how good this place was, from the staff who were so welcoming, to the roaring fires, and the food was 10/10. Locally people give very mixed reviews of this place, but I suspect the negative folk don’t know what a flipping good traditional pub is. I’m hoping this may become a regular place. Welcoming, clean, comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, food was amazing. If you want a proper pub, with proper grub then give it a try.

Amazing venue, in the Derbyshire countryside. They have upgraded the afternoon tea to add sausages rolls and soup, very nice touch.

Fantastic service. Pizza was delivered in 20 mins. We ordered the Meal Deal 4 which includes 2x 12” pizzas, 10” Garlic Bread with Cheese, Chips, Coleslaw & 2 Cans of Pepsi. We paid total £20.62 which was a very good deal. Pizza was fresh, hot and tasty will definitely recommend!!!

We recently visited this place and were warmly welcomed by a friendly lady who was busy working on her own. For drinks, we enjoyed two delicious oat milk hot chocolates. After that, we decided to treat ourselves to two Royal Breakfasts. I’ve attached pictures to give you a better idea of the delicious items included in the breakfast. Everything tasted great, and there was nothing we could suggest for improvement. The only downside was that it was quite chilly, but we did have a small heater on our table to keep us warm.

We stayed nearby on holiday. We visit this area about twice a year and always go to the Spanker for a meal. We are never disappointed. Plenty of choice on the menu, good prices and good food. Good atmosphere and service.

Fantastic pub. Very busy over the Easter weekend, and they still managed to squeeze us in for a lovely Sunday lunch.

A wonderful place, me and my daughter who has special needs popped in for lunch having seen the pub on our way home. We had a fabulous welcome and all of the staff were wonderful with her, she felt very comfortable there and loved the experience. The food (Sunday dinner) was beautiful - very well cooked and great portion sizes. We will definitely make the trip there again another day.

We booked here for a party of 20 for Sunday lunch. It was absolutely fantastic. The Sunday roasts were enormous and delicious, best roast potatoes and huge portions of fresh veg and cauliflower cheese. It all came together which was amazing for such a big group. The puddings were gorgeous and the whole experience was five star. The staff really made an impression on us and that contributed to the really great afternoon. Well done!

Ordered set menu which came with crispy chicken balls....when soaked in curry sauce, they are not really crispy (see photo). Part of order missing, returned to complain, waited for missing items, all the while items collected going cold. Offered a new carrier bag, like this would warm food!!! Telephoned to speak to manager but told not available. Shame as had seemed to improve.
