I thoroughly enjoyed a recent 80th Birthday celebration at Emily's, who generously reserved the whole of the tea room for the event. High Tea was delicious with three sandwiches, three cakes and a scone with jam and fabulous clotted cream, plus a bottomless supply of tea or coffee. the refreshments are tastefully presented and there is an intimate feel to the tea room. The staff were very helpful and polite. I've been to Emily's on previous occasions, and also loved browsing the bookshelves where a book can be taken home to keep, for a donation at the customer's discretion at the till. Would thoroughly recommend - bear in mind that due to popularity you may have to book in advance!

We were led to believe this was above average - ho hum... Service, whilst friendly, was slow. Finding a wine list took some 20 minutes. After another reuest when it arrived it was crumpled and stained. As it was warm night we decided to eat outside - tables could have done with a good wipe, and the floor had obviously not seen a sweep for some time - cigarette ends all over the place. Menu was nothing more than average selection of pub food, and from arrival to food arriving took one hour. On the plus sign - food was hot, and acceptable, portion size - substantial. (No need for a starter.)

Nice food. Decent location. Service average. Good choice and unusual fusion flavours. Heard they were gonna pack up and call it a day. Shame but not a surprise. It is difficult to make a place this work in this area unless the product and price and service and spot on.

This is a nice place to go for a cake and coffee. We have visited on a number of occasions. If I had one gripe however I would say that the portion sizes for their cakes are not consistent and it depends who is cutting the cake. These slices although nice are expensive and not such a treat if when you get home find a significant difference in cake portion ! I would suggest some sort of template so they are all the same.

Brilliant traditional pub. Great beers and food. We popped in late on a Sunday afternoon, but we got in and had a lovely Lamb Shank and a proper Pork chop. The Titanic Porter is delicious. Highly recommend.

I can't believe I haven't been to this restaurant before, despite having lived in Louth all my life. It was definitely worth the wait, as it offers a very authentic Italian experience with great food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We had Arancini and pizzas, which were excellent. The meal was great value for money. We treated ourselves to a bottle of wine from the superb choices available. We went for the Sangiovese, which was delicious and not overpriced. We also found out that they offer a 20% discount during lunch. I can't wait to return and I'm now recommending it to all our friends!

We had the pleasure of attending a bistro night at Dougie’s yesterday, our first visit for a while. As with our first visit, the dining experience is sublime-fantastic food and great service. I thoroughly enjoyed all the courses and, with great company, a lovely evening. We will certainly return.

I would like to say a huge thank you for helping me yesterday when I fell over opposite your cafe. The staff, especially Hayley, were amazing and so kind helping me into the cafe and providing an ice pack and drink of water. They allowed me to sit there as long as I wanted. By the way the coffee and cakes they serve are amazing! Thank you so much.

A place to go for something different: local delicacies of pyclets and oatcakes served with flavoursome toppings. I had the "Canadian" (pyclets with bacon and maple syrup). The food is beautiful and the staff are welcoming. As of March 2024, it shares premises with "Derby Uncovered" which sells local food and non-food products, including pyclets to take away.
