Montebello Ristorante Louth in East Lindsey

I can't believe I haven't been to this restaurant before, despite having lived in Louth all my life. It was definitely worth the wait, as it offers a very authentic Italian experience with great food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We had Arancini and pizzas, which were excellent. The meal was great value for money. We treated ourselves to a bottle of wine from the superb choices available. We went for the Sangiovese, which was delicious and not overpriced. We also found out that they offer a 20% discount during lunch. I can't wait to return and I'm now recommending it to all our friends!

Ordered take out from Louth to mouth and only live in the town so not expecting to be waiting over 90min on monday for delivery to get my order now at 9pm only to be sent a basically raw steak when I asked for cooked to medium and literally it was pink all the way through not the normal balance you get with medium was awful and poor service. I feel very letdown. The other food was okay. You could tell it had been rushed made.

What a treat. Wife and I went for Friday lunch. Antipasti was just lush, and the pollo fungi were as dreamy as the starter. One of the best Italian meals I’ve ever had. I can’t suggest anything that improves it.

Hadn't booked but managed to get the two of us in no problem. Very busy with large groups. Ordered starters and mains, which both arrived in good time. Food was fantastic, the best risotto I've ever had, and potatoes had amazing flavour. Very reasonably priced and service was excellent

Just superb, got us in straight away with no booking, very friendly staff, epic food, literally amazing, best lasagna I've ever had, good kids meals. Very very good experience and would highly recommended, would definitely return if in Louth.

Superb restaurant. Called in early doors, 5.15pm for an early tea before going to a concert. Hadn’t booked but we were easily accommodated . Lovely welcome and reception from the hostess who was brilliant the whole time we were there. Starter special of Smoked Mackerel with chilli was excellent as were our main courses of Lasagne and Carbonara. Nero d’Avola wine was the perfect accompaniment. Crème Brûlée and chocolate ice cream worked well to finish. Thank you very much. This was a fabulous meal, with fantastic friendly service. 5*

So often in Louth and the surrounding area, restaurants don't walk their talk. The lack of a warm welcome / greeting is par for the course. Not so at Montebello. The food in the county can so often be 2 or 3 star. Not so at Montebello. And the service is usually of a similar standard. Not so at Montebello. We will go back.

Another visit, this time for Lunch. Food delicious as before, cooked fresh, but well worth waiting for. Staff knowledgeable about all dishes, young and charming, this makes such a difference to the meal.

Booked at this restaurant through a recommendation from a work colleague. As I was trying to find somewhere for my daughter’s 21st birthday meal , which fell midweek. Somewhere , with a bit of atmosphere, not too big, but could host for a party of 14 people. So pleased we came here. The staff decorated the table as I requested , with items I had taken in. The service and food were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meals , and all of it was served nice and hot. Even though the restaurant was full for a Wednesday evening! But it gave a lovely atmosphere, especially when everyone sang Happy birthday, as her cake came out. A really good selection on the menu to choose from too. It was a lovely evening. Thanks again.

Visited several times excellent food and service yet again tonight 5 star. The food is excellent as are the staff and service. I would highly recommended best pizza I have had 😁👍

We had a beautiful meal. I had swordfish and lemon pie, my husband had beef rib and crème brûlée. Everything we had was lovely. The staff were very friendly and efficient. A very enjoyable evening.

Went here on Monday evening with family and had a wonderful meal and was blown away by it. Lovely welcome by the staff in this small but friendly Italian restaurant. I chose Guazetto di Cozze e Gamberi which consisted of oven baked prawns with mussels served with garlic butter, chilliest, white wine and toasted bread. It was delicious and packed with lots of flavour yummy yummy. Mains was Pollo all’s Milanese which was Chicken breast in panko breadcrumbs served with spaghetti Napoli (garlic, tomato,basil sauce) well this was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Lot’s of flavour and cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and efficient and attentive and were great. Complements to the chef’s was a wonderful experience and amazing food and we all enjoyed our food Thanks a million would highly recommend this place. Thank you for your lovely place and hospitality.

Wow we was super excited to try this place and we was not disappointed at all the food was amazing the staff was friendly overall it was a 10/10,me and my partner can not wait to go back, we would definitely recommend to our family and friends.

A return to this gem is always a delight. Just a quick relaxing lunchtime. So many tempting dishes but this time we chose a couple of calzones. I can honestly say we've never tasted any as good these. Absolutely heavenly. Always consistently superb tasty food at great prices all served with a smile by wonderful people. Back very soon

Wow, we are never disappointed with montebello. Today was our 2nd visit (we aren't local). The staff are fabulous and friendly and the food is some of the best food we've eaten. We both ordered calzone and it was huge ! I was stuffed but no way was I leaving any. Well return soon.

Omg !! This is an amazing place to eat. Staff are lovely. Lovely venue. Everything was cooked to perfection and hot. The taste was amazing. Def be coming back and can’t wait for the next visit.

My wife and I have now used this restaurant quite a few times and each time the service and food have been excellent! There are not many restaurants that achieve this level of consistency, the wood burning pizza oven really brings the authentic taste and quality to their food ! Special thanks to Adrian for always looking after us so well !

Lovely, authentic Italian food, great service, friendly and attentive staff, nice atmosphere. What's not to like? Would highly recommend it to anyone.

Came back to Louth and couldn't resist a visit to our favourite restaurant. My partner, being frail at the moment, booking ahead is not always an option for us but fortunately they were able to accommodate us on a very busy Saturday. The food was amazing, as always. Service was good, despite them being very busy indeed. We managed a second visit later in the week to sample their pizza and delicious desserts. I suspect we will be back! We love the Louth area.

Arrived at 18:20 for a booking for 4 at 18:30 as we were shown to the table, the first comment to us was “we need this table in 2 hours!” Wasn’t too happy that it was the welcoming words. We had to grab the attention of staff to order drinks. Our friends arrived at 18:30 and felt we needed to rush to order more drinks and starters. Again having to get the attention of staff, around 20 minutes later. It took another 20 minutes for that to come out. By this point our whole topic of conversation was mainly about rushing our food to get out. It then took a while before the table was cleared ready for the main. Again it was quite a while before the mains came out. We felt rushed to get them eaten. We had to ask again to order more drinks. When the table was cleared we were asked if we wanted to order sweets but reminded that we only had 15 minutes left so we declined as we knew we wouldn’t have time. 10 mins later we were told we had 5 minutes left having to take our drinks to the bar to finish! In that time nobody was seated at our table! Food was good but not enjoyed due to being rushed. Service was very slow which all in all spoiled the evening..

What a great find this restaurant was. We went here as we were staying locally and celebrating a birthday. We booked a table which is recommended as the restaurant is busy. The staff were friendly and attentive and the service was good, given the busyness of the restaurant and the fact that everything is freshly prepared. We didn’t have a starter, apart from some olives and bread as we were concerned about being too full. The mains were excellent - an Inferno pizza, a calzone farcito and monkfish wrapped in Parma ham with pea purée and chorizo. We had sides of rosemary potatoes and sautéed green beans with pancetta and chips with truffle oil and Parmesan. We obviously had to wait some time for our dishes due to the restaurant being full and turning walk-ins away, but it was well worth the wait. The monkfish was moist and delicate and perfectly complemented by the Parma ham, pea purée and chorizo. The sides were also very tasty. The pizza base was tasty and the toppings were plentiful and delicious and the calzone was of similar quality. We had some lovely wine to accompany our meal before moving on to desserts: Sicilian lemon tart, salted caramel profiterole cheesecake and tiramisu; all of which were delicious and indulgent. The staff were attentive despite being very busy and the whole experience was excellent. We would definitely eat here again as we enjoyed the whole experience.

Very, very disappointed with our visit last night. We’ve been many times before and had very good experiences. Last night was different; poor, slow service. Quality of food was adequate at best. We won’t be rushing back in a hurry. Pity.
