19 Oct 24 Called in on the off-chance and asked for a table for 3. They fitted us in as long as we were quick. The food came quickly and was excellent. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. I can't thank them enough for helping us a brilliant meal.

A genuinely lively place to eat serving great food in a friendly atmosphere, although not local now a firm family favourite.

We went on a Wednesday evening and it was busy but not crowded. There were 4 of us and we all ordered something different for our starter and main course and the food was lovely and typically Italian. Good varied menu with lots of different specials on the board. We had a great evening.

Went here last night but never again at first all ok service etc firstly drinks prices 3 pounds for a glass of coke and no draught beer so a big bottle of lager peroni was 6 pounds 90 pence would not pay that in a hotel we stay at the mason Hotel The main meal took over 45 min to come and then the pizza was well over cooked horrible I don't usually right bad reviews but it was really bad and the drink prices for a little restaurant just ridiculous just be warned

Friendly staff and great service. Great menu and extra specials. Good portion size and very tasty. Given plenty of time to eat and not rushed. I would highly recommend trying if your in the area. Would suggest booking.

I recently visited here for a friends birthday, the food was very nice and good value for money. However when we received the bill, we were astonished to see we had been charged £11 for 2 lime and sofa's. We brought this to the waitresses attention believeing it to be a mistake. It was not, she returned to advise as a good will gesture, they reduced them to £4 each! I will not be returning to this restaurant whilst under this management, pure greed!

Went out for a birthday meal with my friends at Il Padrino. The service was amazing and our waitress did a star job catering to everything we wanted. The food was spot on with literally no complaints possible. The restaurant itself has a lovely feel to it so can highly recommend for any special occasion or even just a visit. Will definitely be returning (hopefully soon)

A group of 4 ate this evening, 28.03.24, and are looking forward to going back soon. We all had different meals and each of us would recommend our individual meals. Lovely waitress who interacted with us, not just taking our order, and the chef even acknowledged us through the hatch. As a side note - leave room for the cheesecake. Can't wait to go back and try the next thing on the menu.

My friend and I were looking for somewhere to eat on a Saturday evening and this place visibly had space, admittedly not always a good sign, but thought we'd try it. It has an outer and inner door, effectively an air lock, but means that your arrival is heralded by the first door, however we found ourselves just simply stood for a minute waiting to be greeted. The only other diners were a table of three, everything else had been vacated with clearance needed. We asked for availability of a table for two, which was confirmed, although we had to wait for the table to be cleared first. That was in fact a wipe down of the plastic substitute damask tablecloths - elsewhere I'd expect them to simply whip the existing or soiled one away and relay the table. As we were seated the three diners adjacent to us were served, only for one to return their food as being cold, that should've been another red flag. Menus were proffered and drinks ordered, which came swiftly enough, and I suppose it's a matter of taste whether you want bottles brought to the table for you to self pour. We ordered our starters and mains - and here we have our secret weapon, with my friend being half Sicilian she knows her dishes. My starter of mussels was awash in what could have been simply a jar of Ragu along with a mediocre undressed salad. My main of Romano was similarly affected to that of my neighbouring diner with one end of the plate being 'scorchio' and the other cold, although starting at the hot end I didn't notice this soon enough. My friend's main was so unappealing that the majority was left, a decision aided by a moribund shaker of parmesan. To add to our disappointment a party of 8(?) twenty somethings came and occupied a nearby table and were extremely raucous from the outset, even the waitress making comment to us, but she failed to make any request to them. With the decor, or perhaps lack of it and any soft furnishings that might nullify or absorb the noise it became a very unpleasant experience as we really struggled to make ourselves heard to one another. It actually feels more of a canteen than a restaurant, and not somewhere you would want to go for an evening meal, especially given the variety on offer elsewhere in Louth, a candidate for the Polizzi or Ramsey experience maybe. So you may have already guessed this, but I'd not be recommending Il Padrino to anyone unless it hopefully sorts itself out.

Came here for a lovely meal. Was served by a lovely lady. Starter was chilli and tomatoe pizza very hot and nice. The main we ordered was chicken Stilton with bacon and cream sauce and penna pasta. Very luke warm so sent back. Came back with chicken hot and pasta cold so told them. The chef then came out and was very rude and said it was my fault because I had sent it back. What the hell!!! They did knock it off the bill been here so many times but to be spoken to like that will not be coming back !! Whatever you do do t complain because it will be your fault it’s not right. Will not be coming back which is a shame.

Had a lovely meal out today with my family. The food was wonderful and the service was second to none. Very busy but the waitress kept her cool and did a brilliant job. Thanks for a great meal

My husband and I had a meal in a lovely atmosphere. The service was warm and friendly The food always tastes fresh and delicious. It is a restaurant we keep going back to.

We got a very friendly welcome which was a great start. The atmosphere and ambiance of the place lacks. It was almost half full and yet quite cold. The seats were rock hard wood with no cushioning. The food was prepared quickly and efficiently. Pizza was ok but at only 10” rather small. The pasta was pretty poor. Lumps of dry chicken and a pretty average tomato ragu. It wasn’t bad as such but just not memorable. They could improve the decor and ambiance quite easily which would help a lot. The staff were very good and sadly let down by the overall surroundings.

Family of 6 All dishes were well cooked and very tasty. Child’s portion was very generous and her pasta was delicious. Pollo crema highly recommended The house wine was very drinkable. Very reasonable prices, generous portions which all tasted freshly made. Look forward to out next visit!!

Fantastic food and friendly service. We visited based on seeing reviews on Trip Advisor. My son saw a photo of a pasta dish and was set on having it and it didn’t disappoint! Parmigiana was exquisite. Great atmosphere.

Some staff are accused of saying things, threatening staffs parents to “run”. He is very open about his homophobic views.

Food tasted tasted off was very sour, the lasagna was just full of tomato sauce, cheese cake not made but brought from heron and the bottle of wine also brought from Aldi and over charging also witnessed him swearing at staff calling them the b word

Called in after the cinema as I just fancied a lasagne, we wasn't disappointed, the lasagne was delicious, the chips were homemade a great. The hubby had a chicken and Stilton dish which was also delicious, the service was attentive but not over powering. All in all great food and service. We will be returning.

My wife and I popped in by chance on the Sunday evening before a bank holiday Monday. It was busy, but luckily for us, another couple had just called to cancel their table. The service was great from the minute we walked in. We both thoroughly enjoyed or food & will 100% be going back again!! It tasted great and the portions were great. Also, the prices are very reasonable. I'm really happy that we stumbled upon this place!!

A quick lunchtime visit after seeing a chalkboard outside. We had a lunchtime special type deal, very inexpensive. The soup was delicious and the Cannelloni was fine. Faultless value.

We were on a holiday and searching for a restaurant to eat in Louth, and they stood out from the rest. They were exceptional. They excelled on the cooking and on hospitality. Would highly recommend them.

A wonderful atmosphere and fantastic food. The service is amazing and the food so tasty. It is a small restaurant though so best to reserve a table if you want to eat in, although takeaway is available as far as I'm aware. Cannot wait to return.

Fantastic proper Italian food in a proper Italian restaurant, Antonio and Pam have an authentic Italian restaurant in Louth, great food great atmosphere. I had tagliatelle Napolitana (putanesca), best outside of Italy. Wonderful food wonderful atmosphere, good wine. What more do you need.

From the moment you walk in until you leave, you're looked after with great service. The menu is very flexible and you can ask for changes to pizza or pasta dishes. Great Pinot to go with it. Exactly what you want from an Italian restaurant. Never had a bad meal and the bill has always been a delight.

I had the Pollo Stilton with a nice taste creamy sauce, home made chips and a big plate of salad with a tasty bottle of dressing to use. I asked for bread and did not regret as it was a nice one as well. I would recommend. I had too much though so I will have another meal with my take away

Had a meal here on Friday lunchtime and it was absolutely fantastic, beautifully cooked and presented and tasted so authentic. The lady who was serving was so nice and pleasant. It's great to find an Italian restaurant open on a lunchtime which suits us. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely restaurant, friendly staff and great selection of food. We went for a birthday celebration & was glad we did as the food was delicious; good portion sizes & great value for money. Covid safe measures in place with face masks to be worn when walking about, hand sanitiser on arrival etc. Everyone complied so it felt very safe. Looking forward to a return visit.

Went based on Google reviews, but failed to see why it got the 4.8 out of 5. Food OK, but nothing special. If you don't want to stick pizza in the oven at home, this is an easy option. Bill was around 50 quid for 2 adults and a child.

Stumbled upon this first class place by chance. The food was excellent , you can watch the Chef preparing the food which was tasty and very good value. The safety measures are first class , tables very well separated , the premises are very clean all cutlery wrapped when presented at the table by polite staff.Walk just a few yards from the centre it’s worth it

We have recently moved to Louth and adore Italian food so was really hoping we would do cover one that was amazing and we have! The waitress was exceptional in service and was straight away organising our drinks. She gave advice on the wine that was on the specials board which proved to be excellent with the food. I had lasagne and my partner had the chicken pasta special dish. Both portions were hot and extremely tasty. Compliments to you the chef and kitchen staff. Will definitely be returning and highly recommend this restaurant. Well done all!

Lovely little place. Came here for my birthday and made me feel special. Had both prawn dishes. Preferred the lemon one but both absolutely delish! Tiramisu to die for! Highly recommended.

Well, it’s been a while since l wrote any kinda review but as this was such a bad experience l could not help but do this place the justice it deserves.Maybe l’m kinda used to a decent meal when the place is getting paid for what it’s supposed to do - ie serve the meal described on the menu - or maybe during the lock down and COVID things have gotten to hot in the kitchen.All l can describe is my experience - which hurts to be honest.It’s not what l would call a 5* Italian Restaurant - l accept this 100% before l walked through the door. I wasn’t expecting that kind of place.However, l have eaten in 100’s of places all over the world that are (or appear to be) just the same as this place.I had a little difficulty with my wine order but that’s just me wanting what l want - the waitress was great and we (together) got what l wanted. I have no complaint with that.Nor do l have any issue with the waiting staff - however - they are (as l now understand) held under a rod of iron from the delinquent that acts as a chef.Chef! Really?My starter (if that effort could be described as such) was a stuffed pepper -allegedly with mushrooms, chicken, minced beef topped with cheese.This l cannot deny was the dish presented - however - it must have emerged from the freezer whenst placed in 1973 - soggy, stodgy, no taste, no flavour, no seasoning - in fact nothing like l would expect (l have eaten many a decent stuffed pepper from Corfu & Turkey - indeed from my own kitchen) However, it was mouton hot - prolly from the 25 minutes it spent in the micro wave.Main course - spaghetti (how can you bugger that up) Simples - visit here - over cooked slop - mine was supposed to have chilly (l found some “bits”) Anchovies (l found several parts that could have once made one anchovie) and olive oil - now that was in abundance, as were the olives (not mentioned on the menu)To be truthful - the entire meal was awful. When l stated that the stater was vile the reply was that no one had ever complained about that dish before.When l asked about the main course the waitress asked the chef to deal with my complaint - NEVER have l l experienced such VIOLENCE before from an alleged Patron in all of my years of eating out.I pointed out the limited supply of anchovies and chilly - all he could do was spit at me whilst attempting to point out the olives (not part of the dish on the menu) and then knocking over my glass of wine. I believe he thought he could bully me into believing his food was great, he stood over me swearing and shouting, calling me names and telling me that l have no idea what l was on about - he attempted to belittle me - well - if you read this you will know that you have failed.I was then asked to leave (1st time in my life this has happened) after l had paid for my glass of wine (1/2 of which is on the floor)The waitress then pointed out that 4 of the guests in 2 different tables had pointed ME out as a trouble maker.Goodness me. Maybe something wasn’t quite right tonight. But l do feel hard done by - l love GOOD Italian food -but l will complain if it’s not good - maybe as a small town Italian they ain’t used to blokes like me that like (and are ) used to eating good Italian food.My experience is that l so t going there again( a shame because l’m working here for the next 4 weeks) l’ll try the other one up the road.So, if you want to be insulted because your food is not what you expected give this DUMP a try!I ate at Blooms in the 80’s - this made is more arrogant than all the waiters combined - you wanna lhave the most threatening experience - eat here (WongKee in China Town was all of that and more)If l could use foul language then l would - this place wrecks if it all.0-100-100%I have never given such a negative review

Very c-19 safe feel. Eg menus pinned to the wall next to each table and cutlery in plastic bags. Super selection of food, good choice of drinks. Lovely to see the chefs working in the kitchen from the tables. Delicious food, good portions. Friendly feel to the place thanks to the staff. Open on a Sunday, really useful as not much else is in Louth.

Booked for 8.30 and had a great night. Good atmosphere and music. Menus are actually on the wall adjacent to your table so no handling! Great little Restaurant!

At first glance it doesn't look that great decor wise. But the food makes up for it in abundance. Fantastic food, by far easy the best Italian restaurant in louth. And reasonably priced too.

We have never been disappointed here, the food is delicious and freshly cooked, nothing is too much trouble. They can cook smaller portions when asked as the food is generous in size.
