A lovely place, we stopped for breakfast which was superb. Service was quick, staff attentive and polite. My husband had a full English with toast and marmalade and I had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.

1pm sitting. My brother and I had pie with mashed potatoes. The pie was nice but they had run out of mash so incredibly they shared iit between myself and my son so we both received the equivalent of a spoonful of mash each. After having to complain we got complimentary chips. The wife had a baked potato with chilli beef. The potato was rock solid from being microwaved and the salad was so small we all had a giggle moment. She was too polite to complain.

This is a nice place to go for a cake and coffee. We have visited on a number of occasions. If I had one gripe however I would say that the portion sizes for their cakes are not consistent and it depends who is cutting the cake. These slices although nice are expensive and not such a treat if when you get home find a significant difference in cake portion ! I would suggest some sort of template so they are all the same.

Just like to say a big thank you to the staff on 8/07/2024, fabulous service! Sat outside with my mother in the pretty garden out back for lunch and we both loved our brie and cranberry wraps, so delicious and nice that vegetarians are catered for! Both ladies that served us were excellent, one kindly took a photo and moved the non pretty stuff out the photo, what initiative, my kind of lady! We also enjoyed delicious coffee cake that the lady thoughtfully sliced in two! A nice lunch made memorable by super service! Would recommend and will return!

First impressions on entering were very good, although the room to the right-hand side of the doorway, as you enter, would (personal opinion, here) feel more homely if there were some pictures on the wall facing you?Quite surprised that we had only a choice of ONE sandwich each (afternoon tea usual has a mixture of sandwiches) but having said that, the single sandwich that each of us had was very tasty and freshly made. The scones were enormous and almost totally defeated us, as we coulnd't manage all of the cake selection. Again, although there were two scones (and copious quantities of preserves and cream) we both thought it a little odd that there was only ONE of each cake, so we cut into halves the cakes that we could manage, after having fought a losing battle with the scones. The cost was about half the price we usually expect to pay; the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the premises was spotless. Just felt it needed a teensy bit of tweaking to make it perfect.

The reason I have only given this a 4* is because i was really looking forward to a large ALL DAY BREAKFAST as shown in the on line menu. Only to find out on our arrival that they finished breakfast at 11.30 a.m..(Not a good advert) I settled for the ham egg and chips as did my wife and I must say this was very nice.I might suggest that the restaurant change their wording on the breakfast menu or serve it all day.

Group of 8 including 2 children went for a pre booked afternoon tea, the standard of the food overall was lovely, fresh and handmade. The sandwiches we absolutely gorgeous, I had the egg mayo and smoked bacon and blimey some of the nicest I've ever had, the cakes that followed were obviously all homemade and so fresh, the scones are to die for, they even came out warm. Just a few things which I think could be tweaked to make this tea room a better experience for those who visit...When you go to a relatively small tea room one would expect a choice of loose leaf tea, we had a pot of tea for 3 and when asked for a top up the tea bags were clearly the originals as it looked like dish water, I mean come on how much would it cost to pop a couple of fresh bags in?The waitress who served us was very nice but overall the friendless is just lacking, it's very hard to describe but there's no atmosphere or homely feel which you'd expect from a small individual tea room. I'm sure people who have been may understand what I mean. It's such a shame as this could be so lovely. It has so much potential. This is our 2nd visit but we will not be returning as there are far more nicer tea rooms in Lincoln/lincolnshire

There is plenty of parking outside the cafe. There were four of us and we each had the vegatarian breakfast, which was very good and came with plenty of toast and the choice of coffee or tea at a modest price. You cannot put a tip on the credit card which is a problem if you do not carry cash.

I have previously reviewed this tea room and given it 5*. However, I have been twice in the past couple of months and been disappointed. On the first occasion I ordered a stuffed pepper which was so greasy that I was unable to eat more than about a quarter of it. When my plate was collected I explained why the pepper was largely uneaten and the waitress said she was sorry but nothing more. As the food here had previously been excellent I decided this must have been a one off and to give it another try. Ordered the special of the day, which was Chicken Kiev and salad. The chicken Kiev was bone dry, the chips were fine and the salad was just a bit of lettuce out of a prewashed salad bag (we saw it being opened). A friend I was with had a sandwich with salad. Her salad consisted of a bit of lettuce, about a teaspoon of coleslaw and a piece of a tomato. So sad to post a review like this but, in the interests of being fair, I feel I must balance out my previous positive review.

After driving past Tillbridge tastery a few times, today we got the chance to sample their wares. A very cute and modest village cafe/restaurant with decor to match. We were a little dissapointed to find out that our first choice (soup) had been sold out and so had our second choice (chicken and leek pie) but there was plenty of other choice for quality food, and I'm a thorough believer that if something has sold out early it must be quality. My dad had a mince and onion pie that was huge!! And i ordered a hunters chicken for myself. My dad's pie was fantastic, loaded with meat, extra gravy when we asked for, and perfectly cooked veg. I was a little dissapointed by my wedges but the chicken was tasty enough, i think however that this error was on my part because quality clearly isn't an issue after seeing and tasting other food. We then finished with a latte and a cake each. The cakes where huge and delicious, and while i didn't have high hopes for the latte (no where in my local village can do a decent coffee) I was most pleasantly surprised. I hope to come back again soon, and hope to get a chance to try the leek and chicken pie!!!

We were invited to this delightful venue to celebrate a special birthday of a family member. We were quite a large group so it was difficult for the staff to serve the food and tea (though they did cater for coffee lovers.) The food was delicious and plentiful though the tea service was not really adequate as hot water was needed as the tea was quite strong. Also as it was a hot day cold water would have been welcome too.

Booked the Tillbridge Tastery for afternoon tea to celebrate my mother’s 80th after having coffee and cake there in the summer one afternoon, they have two rooms upstairs and could easily accommodate the 23 people we booked it for and they don’t charge for the use of the rooms on top of the food like a lot of other places. As they serve breakfast there, I wouldn’t be able to get there really early to put up the decorations I had bought so they offered to do it for me if I delivered them a couple of days before. On the day they did a brilliant job, not just with the decorations but with excellent service, delicious food. Loved the range of sandwiches (will definitely be putting walnuts in my Brie and cranberry sandwiches now) , loads of choice and delicious cakes. My only complaint is that I couldn’t manage to eat one of each. We found the staff, friendly, helpful and very professional. Thank you for helping make my mother’s birthday special.

We visited on a Friday lunchtime and were surprised how busy the place was. The one minor issue is the lack of parking close by when they are busy. We had elderly parents with us who aren't very mobile and we had to drop them off and park elsewhere as there was nowhere near to park. The inside is tastefully decorated and the menu choice large. Although you have to order at the counter the food gets delivered to you. We only ordered snacks as we were having a large evening meal but left completely full of excellent food. Popped in here on Tuesday lunchtime with my mum at 12.45. Quite busy but there was a spare table so we were seated straight away. The main menu hasn't changed since our last visit but there were some nice specials on and lots of lovely desserts and waist expanding cakes on the counter. Mum had the golden years lunch of roast pork, vegetables and potatoes and I had the meat feast rarebit. It was a good few minutes before the food arrive but its such a lovely and relaxing place it sort of made you slow down a little and relax instead of rushing everywhere. Neither of us were disappointed with our choice although mum did say that the pork was a tad salty for her tastebuds. She finished with the golden years dessert which was trifle and I had a piece of Millionaires shortbread, but had to bring half of that home as it was very rich. Still lovely, attentive staff who speak and smile!!....a good village asset.

Went for breakfast:All food and drinks delivered as ordered and the Lincoln sausages are a local specialty for good reason! The earl grey tea was fragrant and the food fresh; we'll happily return and heard they do a lovely afternoon tea!

Arriving at the Tastery was a little odd, i drive passed this place every day on the way to work and never knew it was there. Appears to be a a terraced house from the outside, but once inside its been converted into several little rooms spread across two floors. Quite quaint and dainty, very sophisticated and classy interior! I was a bit confused by the menu as some of it wasn't available and I was restricted to certain things i was able to order (but that might of been because of what the organiser had arranged beforehand).Sandwiches seemed a little overpriced based on the menu but coupled with the sheer volume of cake and tea on offer, £10 a head seemed relatively reasonable in the scheme of things.Service was...ok. We has a new waitress who hadn't gotten to grips with the menu just yet and seemed a little nervous but thats to be expected. She was very pleasant and receptive and left the group to it after taking our order and bringing our food which is always good! My issue was with one of the older servers who came in quite abruptly and said if we wanted plain scones we needed to of ordered ahead! None of our group had mentioned plain scones and I thought it was weird to come in and say that, I'm guessing its from complaints beforehand but the manner she told us was a bit rude I felt! The food was nice but not an amazing, a large selection of different kinds of cake but nothing that really set them apart from any other kind of cake you could get from a shop! All in all, it was a very nice afternoon and very different to what I'd normally of been doing and was quite enjoyable, I probably won't be going back but that isn't a reflection of the establishment its just personal taste.

Visited for here for lunch... lovely little eatery! Lovely inside - very homely and cosy! Prices slightly above average for similar places. Food was nice and quick. Reasonably priced hot drinks! (£2.40 for regular latte). Didn't have a cake but looked lovely (think they were priced between £2.50-3.50) Would like to go back and try the afternoon tea, will definitely be visiting again!

I wanted somewhere for a light lunch with wife and adult daughter and this place was suggested by daughter. I was a little sceptical at first because from outside it looks like half of a semi, but once in side I was very pleasantly surprised. Both sides of the semi downstairs are restaurant, there is also tables upstairs and in the garden. We went in the garden. It is a very pleasant quaint English garden with comfortable sturdy chairs.Menu has something for all tastes. I had ploughman's and it was very tasty, with a warm roll. Only criticism is perhaps two rolls. Wife and daughter had different light bites and said they were very tasty. Return visit on the cards.

They were very busy with cream teas we wanted a scone but was told they had no more but then gave others after us scones!! I thought this was underhanded. We also felt they really didn't want to serve us. The cake was ok!!

No outright complaints here, premises were clean, food was good. But the place lacks the character of a traditional English tea room. The rooms are feature-less and are further spoiled by displays of home furnishings for sale. We hoped to have afternoon tea but were met with strict times about what customers could and couldnt have at certain times, which was disappointing. Also i asked for Redbush tea and was told by the young waitress they didnt sell it. When i pointed it out on the shelf behind her she still tried to gime Red Leaf tea. With such a small range of products to learn i would have hoped staff would be familiar with all of them. Not enough here to entice me back I'm afraid

We went here last week for my mums birthday. A table of 8 was ready for us when we got there and the staff were very friendly and took time to wish my mum a happy birthday even though it was lunchtime and they were busy. Between the eight of us wee chose the fresh dressed crab salad, chicken wraps, ham and eggs, beef pie, ham and mushroom quiche and the ploughmans lunch along with hot and cold drinks. Mum hadn't had dressed crab in years and she was not disappointed, really fresh and beautifully presented in its shell with new potatoes, salad, coleslaw and warm bread. The ham and mushroom quiche was a huge piece and very tasty too. Beef pie was very very tasty and the two enjoying the wraps really did enjoy them. No room left for puddings as we were all very pleasantly full. The staff were attentive and very polite, even bringing mum a card up, but didn't hover as if they wanted our table. At £70.00 for the 8 of us with drinks was very good value. This place is a credit to the whole team, because team work has made this place what it is. I hope that it goes from strength to strength for them all. Well done Tillbridge tastery, I would not hesitate to recommend you to any of my friends, will certainly be visiting again. Thank you

We occasionally pop here on the way to hemswell antiques centre (where we invariably buy something for the house that we don't really need). Anyway, back to the review. This is a nice little unpretentious place to get a tasty snack or a light lunch. Good value for money as well with an always delightful selection of home made cakes on the counter to eat in or take away

We only live around 3 miles away and pass here frequently, but have never managed to get time to come and eat/drink here. But it was Mum-in-law's birthday last Friday, so time to take her for a treat. And what a treat. This place is superb. Yes, you can eat cheaper around here (but not much cheaper), but the quality is worth every penny. There were 4 of us - 2 had the chicken and leek pie (lovely pieces of quality breast meat), one had hunter's chicken (with the best wedges ever!) and I had the chilli crab cakes (beautifully made and perfectly cooked). We just managed to squeeze a pudding in - 2 shared a wedge of chocolate cake and 2 of us had a piece of Rocky Road each. There wasn't much of a choice to be fair as we were towards the end of the afternoon serving, but that shows how popular this place is. I am hoping to try one of the breakfasts one weekend, having read about how good they are. And afternoon tea too...but not on the same day, maybe ;-)They also serve Stokes coffee, which is a well established local business. Oh, and one last thing...this place is way bigger than it looks; there are additional tables upstairs and outside the back, so don't be put off by thinking it'll be full. We will be back soon :-)

Small and quaint little cafe serving amazing range of delicious cakes. Also has a lovely little garden out the back which is great. Toys and sand pit provided for kids. Haven't given it 5/5 only because it is slightly pricey.

We have the unfortunate task of living close by to this lovely establishment. Unfortunate for my hips that is!! These ladies most certainly know how to rustle up a fantastic range of delicious cakes. We can highly recommend an afternoon tea, or if time is limited they do take outs and cakes to order. The lunches are delicious, only pity is they are unable to open longer hours. If you are passing pop in you will not be disappointed - a tea room as you expect one very pretty modern decor, lovely cuppa, great food and attentive friendly staff.

One of the best restaurant meals I’ve had in many months. We went on impulse to celebrate my partner’s birthday yesterday evening, having had a very bad experience there in the past when it was owned by someone different. The food was superb and the service was efficient and friendly. Highly recommended and we’ll most definitely be going again

We sadly lost a family member and contacted the Black Horse to host the wake. From point of contact with Josh to the actual event, was dealt with professionally and with sympathy. On the day it went smoothly and we were welcomed warmly. We were taken care of the entire time and the buffet that was laid out for us was beyond expectations. Even with a late add on of numbers, which was despite the lateness not a problem. The supply of constant tea and coffee was welcomed by our guests. Cannot fault or thank the team enough for their attention and care of our family in a difficult time.
