We went here about a year ago and were very impressed, so I was particularly looking forward to the lovely Ploughman’s lunch I’d had previously. The ploughman’s was lovely, half a pork pie, fresh bread, a slice of cheese, 2 slices of ham, and a little stack of salad was the ploughman’s. To accompany this there was a pot of butter, a large pot of chutney and a cut up pickled onion. This all padded out the board it was served on. It was all very fresh but far less in variety than last year and at a whopping £18.50 I expected more. It was almost the most expensive item on the menu!! I’m not sure how this price can be justified tbh. A sandwich was £12.00!! How?? My husband had the pie and mash which was delicious and worth £16.50 and a starter of pate that was also overpriced at £9.40!!! I had a soft drink and my husband had a pint. Our bill today was £60 Spoilt it for me really. We ate at the Dambusters last night, 2 hot courses and 2 drinks each, £58

Popped in today for delicious tea and cake , It was to say Thankyou to the kind young man and his mum who helped me out with a seat and water yesterday, as I was feeling Steep hill and post Covid symptoms yesterday. Genuine common sense and kindness . As you guys weren’t there please take this as my sincere thanks and a recommendation for fab cakes and teas !

As a regular i can vouch your establishment is amazing for fantastic friendly staff who are always friendly and welcoming, great beer and food cooked to order fresh with a 20 minute + waiting time depending on how many tables you have in. I heard someone said the gammon didn't taste like gammon? The steak is sometimes fatty but obviously you don't butcher the cow so not you fault! Then the problem with the cafe and indian customers parking on your carpark which is a great shame for your customers to experience the fantastic food and hospitality from the Red Hart. Amazing team, well done to all x

The Elm Cottage is a nice traditional community pub. There is a good selection of beers, lagers, and cider, including a cask conditioned real ale. The cask ale was in excellent condition when we called in. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is an outside seating area at the front and behind the pub. There is also a pool table and dart board in a lodge behind the pub.

I always check Trip Advisor and found very good reviews on this place. As we walked in food was being served and the fish n chips looked generous and beautifully cooked and the ploughman’s was big enough for the ploughman and his horse ! But a wise TA user always orders a round before asking for the menu and good job we did because that’s where it all went wrong. Clearly, we weren’t locals so we had the frozen face and silent welcome from the barmaid with gold stud piercing on bottom lip. Ordered a largish round which clearly annoyed her. She tapped in the order on the till, and with a practiced hand, silently thrust the card machine at us like a rapier, we even had to ask ‘so how much is that?’ A reluctant reply and then a sullen thank you was uttered with her back to us ! Shame as we all were intending to order lunch. All the TA reviews really big up the service but I had to go outside to check the sign that I had the right pub ! So my advice is that this one is only any good if you live within half a mile of the place as “we don’t much like strangers ‘round ere”- leave it with you…

Was told about the food here so I thought I would take my mum for tea on Saturday night . The 2 young girls on duty was very polite and service from them was good. Food was delicious home made steak pie 😋lots to choose from on the menu. Only one thing let it down and that was the music . 🎵 but thank you for the lovely food.

Was so looking forward to trying this place. Staff are lovely. But the food oh dear. I've never seen such greasy mess, it was dripping in oil. I had to get toilet paper to the fish to drain some off. Hardly any chips but that was probably a good thing. Id say they don't drain the fish, or the fats not hot enough and its holding all the fat. But it was dripping. First and last
