We went here about a year ago and were very impressed, so I was particularly looking forward to the lovely Ploughman’s lunch I’d had previously. The ploughman’s was lovely, half a pork pie, fresh bread, a slice of cheese, 2 slices of ham, and a little stack of salad was the ploughman’s. To accompany this there was a pot of butter, a large pot of chutney and a cut up pickled onion. This all padded out the board it was served on. It was all very fresh but far less in variety than last year and at a whopping £18.50 I expected more. It was almost the most expensive item on the menu!! I’m not sure how this price can be justified tbh. A sandwich was £12.00!! How?? My husband had the pie and mash which was delicious and worth £16.50 and a starter of pate that was also overpriced at £9.40!!! I had a soft drink and my husband had a pint. Our bill today was £60 Spoilt it for me really. We ate at the Dambusters last night, 2 hot courses and 2 drinks each, £58

Popped in to this gorgeous pub on route to Lincoln for a drink. Had such a warm welcome from both staff and other guests. I sometimes worry when visiting a village pub whether we will be welcomed but no fear here, lovely place. Lovely beer garden with fabulous views. And I got the treat of my life to watch the Red Arrows practicing right above us. I was so excited I could hardly contain myself! This pub is well worth a visit and it’s featured in the Good Beer Guide too!!

Very pricey for under average food, nothing special at all. Pie was very salty and probably frozen, fish and chips were over cooked, chips cut the roof of my mouth. Service was a bit slow. Have to be critical considering how expensive the food has become.

Food good but seriously the portion sizes are so small ordered the pie 🥧 the smallest speicman out beans i counted about 5 and 8 chips we complained to the waitress and she said a new menus had been made and they had cut down on food quantity and upped the prices to compete with other surrounding pubs which I know is a complete load of hairy b....ks ..The ribs that we also ordered have also gone to £21 and shrunk in size ..complained to the owner and was offered a partial refund on the pie unfortunately we had already paid the bill and was utterly pissed of all I can say go to the market lounge Swinderby and you will see quality and bigger portions ...greed for maximum profits looses customers like us

Warm welcome on arrival and the 2 members of staff that looked after our table were really friendly and attentive. One of our party had a dietary requirement and he was guided through what was suitable on the menu. All the courses were good value, nicely presented and there was a good selection on the menu. Came for Sunday lunch with famalam after a weekend away in Lincoln. Sadly I'm not a fan. The staff didn't seem that friendly or welcoming tbh which is a shame- however! Please don't blame the staff themselves for this, they are young and working very hard. Maybe it's the atmosphere? Idk. My rating is actually based on the food alone. Ok the pork and crackling was delicious!!! I can't fault that. But the Yorkie puds were as dry as death valley in July. Under neath the pork were two sad little roasties and a tiny blob of mash hiding away like woodlice beneath a stone. Everyone on my table had a roast and the veg and apple sauce was shared between us- not enough of either. Gravy weak and runny. I'm so sorry I wanted to like it but I just didn't.

Visited here for the first time, with our dogs, and after 5 minutes sat down outside ⛈️ Anyway, nice surprise to learn dogs were allowed inside so in we went. What was initially a “drink or 2” turned into quite a lot more, and we ordered food. Menu is decent for a local pub, nothing too fancy so pretty safe. Not too sure about the presence of Halloumi in the starter, and the rib eye was about 4oz for £27 and very overdone, but as it was a Tuesday perhaps it wasn’t main chef on? Around 7pm the place suddenly filled up with locals playing guitars, recorders and such who looked like they had a thoroughly good night playing music and drinking. Would go back as friendly staff and welcoming.

Good Sunday menu, not just roasts. Great service from the team. Checked if all was good, checked if we wanted more drinks. Chefs did a great job, veg had bite. Meat was seasoned and cooked well, good yorkshires and roasted parsnips, roasted carrots and roasted potatoes. Good portion of cauliflower cheese too. Gravy was full of flavour. I returned to the village after 20+ years to find my old aunts’ home. I had walked round the village and couldn’t find it. I decided to have lunch in the pub. The choice of food was good and I ordered a jacket potato which was huge and tasty. On the off chance I asked the lady behind the bar for help with my search. I could not have been more surprised! Long story short two people in the pub gave me information which led to a local historian which led me to finding the house! I also found my relatives’ graves in the churchyard. I am overwhelmed by the help from the villagers all instigated by the licensee and regulars of The Tempest so to them....a huge Thank You. I will return next time I am in Coleby and I WILL be back!

Laminated cafe style menu with limited choices, waitress welcomed us onto our table and told us what the soup was today, but also said the curry was off, burgers were off and something else was off.

Such a lovely little village pub with great outside space. Simple lunch menu, really good food and lots of it, but what makes this pub truly amazing is the service. Kerry has such a fabulous attitude, is great fun and delivers really good, easy going service with a smile. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

Probably the best beef sunday roast that I have ever had , as an ex farmer the meat was sublime . A week later had the best rack of baby ribs that I have ever eaten , in my quite long life .

After a recommendation from a friend we decided to try The Tempest for lunch. We were lucky enough to get an outside table, overlooking the picturesque countryside and had a lovely lunch. The lunch menu is much as you would expect in a country pub, but the quality was excellent and the service faultless.

If you are looking to get out of the city, have a decent meal washed down with a good pint of ale or nice house wine...look no further. The Tempest has it all, a well furnished, clean welcoming bar area where you could just sit & watch the world go by, or dine in the well appointed dining area. Great views over the Lincoln edge towards the vale of Belvoir in the distance. While the food isn't michelin starred, neither are the prices, just good honest cooking done well. Go there are enjoy......

as a foursome out for a meal on Saturday night. In licoln there is a restaurant that says its the place for ribs. No the Tempest has the best ribs I have eaten for years. All four of us had excellent main courses served by friendly obliging staff who made us very welcome. We all felt the sweets on offer were no so exciting but this was a not a major point of concern. Will be back for ribs Keep up the great standards

Visited last week as a group of friends out for a birthday lunch. We were given a menu so that we could pre order. Choices were jacket potatoes, paininis, chips, salads all of the usual lunchtime pub food.I had the hot smoked salmon fish cakes with salad and I have to say they were absolutely delicious! There are tables outside so great if the weather is good. I would like to try it in the evening to sample the evening menu and will make it my mission to do so!

Called in this place on Saturday lunch and ordered a baguette for my partner and a ham and cheese salad for myself not realising what a really nice venue this is, the outside area is well manicured in the garden and how nice to see such clean tables, the service of the staff was impeccable to the point that i felt compelled to want to call again and so we did on the Sunday following, the traditional Sunday lunch was exceptional and the dining room had a contemporary feel to it, you could also take your meal in the bar side which was equally as inviting, the food was gorgeous, the choices were lamb, beef, pork belly and chicken with vegetarian options, to accompany this there was roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, parsnips, yorkies and a separate bowl of veg with at least four premium veg all so fresh and not forgetting the cauliflower cheese and your own jug of gravy, can't wait to visit again.

Visited early on a Wednesday evening just after it opened at 6pm. Hadn't been there for a while but it was just as good as I remember. The wife and I had a couple of burgers and chips off the menu and they were excellent. Nice pint of ESB as well. An unpretentious pub and all the better for it ( unlike a certain other establishment in the same village). Recommended

Went here on New Year's Eve with the family, and our dog Chilli, had a wonderful meal and we were all made to feel so welcome by the landlady and her staff, Kelly was brilliant behind the bar.The food was beautiful and the locals were receptive too, would definitely recommend people to come and visit, either for drink and/or food.So dog friendly, and we even got a taxi from North Hykeham out there so we could drink. We got there at 12 and didn't leave until 1800! Hic!

Visited for Sunday lunch. Pub was quite busy and would recommend booking a table in advance.Food was excellent, served piping hot and good size portions.Only let down is the speed of the service, takes along time from ordering to actually been served your meal, despite it only being a small restaurant.

I popped in with my dog and we were made very welcome. Lovely atmosphere with local people chatting and included me, made me feel welcome. The staff were very friendly and I had a hot chocolate and I really enjoyed scrambled egg on toast. I was so looking forward to popping in again on my next visit to Sleaford but I was very sad to read a newspaper article saying it has closed for good. So sad after 101 years in the town that this had to close.

Yet another visit to this fantastic pub. The lunchtime baguettes are amazing and great value for money. The only issue I have is with the guy complaining about his steak as the George has not had steak on the menu for quite some time. My advice is to ignore that review and try the pub for yourself, it's brilliant.

As spotless as ever. The prices still haven't risen and a really nice, well cooked breakfast with tea or coffee is still only a fiver! Can't fault the place.

We went for Saturday lunch. When we arrived we was told it was a 30-45 minute wait for food the pub was empty. But a few tables sat outside with kids. We ordered something easy. Ham egg and chip. After waiting the time they said our food arrived. The chips was cold and the egg looked like it had been sat for 10 minutes. They had an inflatable assault course for kids in the garden which is a great attraction for people with kids. But I wouldn’t advise going for a meal !! 🤮
