The Marina Restaurant in East Lindsey

Was so looking forward to trying this place. Staff are lovely. But the food oh dear. I've never seen such greasy mess, it was dripping in oil. I had to get toilet paper to the fish to drain some off. Hardly any chips but that was probably a good thing. Id say they don't drain the fish, or the fats not hot enough and its holding all the fat. But it was dripping. First and last

having been hear many times and always come away highly satisfied the last 2 visits where very disappointing , today as we are dieting we ordered a large haddock and peas each the fish was swimming in fat and as it was on the fork it was actually dripping fat and the peas at £1.60 was served just half a pot . So sorry but unless things alter we won't be eating here again

i,ve lived here for about 6 months. i use the Marina its good but not the best . but it serves it,s purpose . i had a great day with a couple of friends & we were all hungry and headed for the Marina i had checked that they were due to close at 08.30pm. we went in to place our order and was told that they were taking no more orders & they were closing shortly. it was 07.15. now if you are providing a service then please stick to the closing times you state. but you seem to please yourself. needless to say all my friends and family and i will no longer give us your custom . what you do is not the way to run a business !

Very disappointing visit yesterday, one of the tiniest bread cakes I have ever seen , drenched in grease and disintegrated. Customer service training required !! All I wanted was a fish buttie with chips over a tenner !! A bit more bread !!! ? No have your money back and “ I recommend you don’t return “ really !! Not worth the award !!

The service from the lady at the till was friendly but speedy. We ordered fish, chips and curry sauce and battered sausage and chips. This is genuinely the best Chippy food we've eaten. Definitely recommend

Came here from Lincoln for a nice evening walk with my partner and we decided to grab a fish and chips, little did we know this was *the best we ever had!* The chips were proper chips and very decent portions, the fish was insanely good and crispy! Mushy peas tasted so peasy I could not believe it, by far the best I've ate in my 33 years! Curry sauce, absolutely BANGER full of flavour not your typical bland curry sauce. I can't really complain about anything considering I got there 10 minutes before closing down as a positive criticism the staff probably forgot to add cutlery and napkins to our order, apart from that, extremely satisfying experience. The most amazing fish and chips ever tasted. Fresh and cooked to order. Crispy batter and fresh fish with perfectly cooked chips. The curry sauce was amazing. We will be back. Just fabulous.

We have eaten here many times as it was always so good and tasty and they definitely earnt the award. However on our recent trip we went as 2 adults, a 3 year old and a newborn baby. We ordered 2 meals for the adults and would then share the chips and fish with our 3 year old. I politely asked the lady if we could have a tray so I could put some chips on for my son and she turned round to me and said that it would cost me. So I said could I have a plate or something then please to which they said they don’t have any. I was a bit gob smacked as they were either really annoyed that I didn’t purchase a meal for my 3 year old or the award has totally gone to their heads. So I never got a tray and I didn’t dare ask for napkins because they would have probably charged me for that too.

Fish and chip take away - delicious, not greasy, really great value. Definitely returning. Service was really friendly.

This place has a cafe but we love sitting in the car, dining out on their fish and chips which are consistently excellent when we go. Light batter on chunks of either haddock or cod, yummy chips - all always piping hot - I'd be happy to go there and eat every day!

This is a first class fish and chip shop. Take away or eat in. We'll priced and well cooked. Consistently good and always friendly service. Can order via an app so they are ready to collect.

I regularly visit Marina’s as it is without doubt the best fish and chips for miles around. Had a mini fish and chips last night and the fish was absolutely delicious - crispy batter and melt in the mouth fish. Sometimes you have to wait, but it is definitely worth it.

Dreadful haddock. It was very chewy not like haddock we get from our local chippie. Normally haddock melts in the mouth this didn't. Some of it was an orangey colour. I wonder if it was haddock. Staff were functionary. We will not be going again.

Visit here with some family at the weekend. We managed to get a table outside just under shelter. We ordered food and they said they would bring it out to us. Food arrived and the heaven opened. To then be greeted by a gentleman saying I we need to shut the doors or the water will come inside. My reply if you let me get out of the doorway you can shut it. Whilst my food is sat on the table in the rain as I had my hands full with two children and two dogs. My reply can dogs come in whilst we eat. To be greeted with no.-which was fine. Trying to move while he closing the door on me!! To be greeted with a lady shouting at me in an aggressive manner no dogs!! While I moved the dog out the door way which they was closing to use the other door to get out. Then asked for a refund to be shouted at, you’re not having a refund it is not our fault it has rained!! We will wrap them up!! While we are now currently soaking wet! I have never met such poor customer service in my life, my dad went back in as he was so upset how we had been spoken to ask for the manager for an apology but she refused!! I will never be returning to this place and I will be looking into if they have an outside seating license when you have no drain fitted to stop this place flooding when it rains and with water and food, I am not sure this would be passed!!! Absolutely awful!!

Lovely fish and chips staff so rude to me and my family wanted to shut the doors when it was raining l had 3 grand children with me and 2 dogs and wanted me to sit outside when it was raining as for my money back they said no l spoke to manager and she was extremely rude so when l had spent a lot of money on food will never go in there again while under that management

Ordered large fish chips and curry sauce to share for two people, so small was a joke for £13.90 will not be going again.

Chips and curry sauce twice please. Would you like your curry sauce in a pot or tipped over your chips. Tipped over please..Thanks. That will be £8.40. Upon paying I got the devils stare for asking for a receipt. What was delivered was a small tray of chips with a spoon of curry sauce. Not value for money in a big way. Fantastic service from nice and friendly staff and the food was brought out quickly and was very tasty we will be coming here again for a treat whilst on holiday. Special mention of the homemade tartar sauce which went great with our fish and chips.

We stumbled across the Marina on here so paid it a visit and were not disappointed. It was the best fish and chips we have had in years. And coming from Hull that is saying something. So we have just sat on the green in Chapel and eaten the best fish chips and peas weve ever had. I read reviews on trip advisor before leaving home so decided to give them a go. The light golden batter and fish was amazing. We tried some home made tartare sauce that was delicious. I was even asked if we wanted a lemon wedge with the fish. Excellent covid practice too! Money well spent, I never wanted them to end!

Stopped.iff in Chapel for some late lunch and decided on a quick take away. The chips were light and crunchy, the batter on our fish was so airy as well and the fish was gorgeous.All served in cardboard trays so even managing to be sustainable in all the covid mix up. Bought a holiday home near here. Recommended by a neighbour and was very impressed. Had take away ( on two occasions now ) and all very well managed for the covid problems. The batter is crispy and great quality fish with very good chips. We have had mushy peas too and they are to die for. All in all this is an amazing chippy and I dont really want to try anywhere else round here. You can download an App on your phone , then order and pay online should you wish to. If you are in the area then its a no bariner.

I'd never been to Chapel st. Leonards so took a trip out this weekend on a lovely sunny day. Not much there apart from thousands of holiday homes and static caravans. We did find the most amazing fish and chip shop, The Marina fish and chips. Not for many years have I tasted fish and chips so good. Lovely, fresh, white chunky haddock in a light batter, freshly cooked chips, home made tartar sauce and lashings of salt and vinegar. Tasted even better sat outside in the sunshine. So very simple. So very tasty. So worth the long trip.

After looking on Trip Advisor for a decent chippy close to where we were staying, we wasn’t disappointed with The Marina. The chips were the right amount crunchy and soft. The portions were HUGE! The fish was bigger than the box of came in! The prices were also good. Huge thumbs up from us.

Read the reviews and were not disappointed when we visited Chapel St Leonards. Was only a few minutes walk from the town car park. Due to covid they are only doing takeaways but there were lots of picnic tables nearby to sit and eat. The cod and chips was delicious as was the battered sausage and chips my brother-in-law had. Definitely deserves the 5 stars.

12 of us had a takeaway supper from here today. Lovely fish and chips and the pies are very nice with actual meat in unlike those pukka pies rubbish. Best chippy I've eaten from on the Lincolnshire coast in a long time. Highly recommended.

Had to order a day in advance but worth it. Fish, chips and melt in the mouth onion rings all superb. Scampi was tasty and all still piping hot when we collected it. Separate door to collect pre-orders and no queue so saved probably a half hour wait going from the 15 or so people in the orderly queue outside.

We visited Chapel St Leonards for the first time today. Decided to have lunch here after reading previous reviews. Ordered a large Cod and chip, mini fish with chips and curry sauce, chips and curry sauce and homemade tartare sauce!Social distancing adhered too, stood outside shop until name was called and order ready. Order read back to me to check it was correct. Handed a lovely strong brown paper bag with Marina logo and headed over to the green to sadly find no forks included. (Needed when you have curry sauce with 2 orders) Sent my children back to ask for forks (sign said 8 people in at any one time but there was only 3 or 4 in at any one time!)My son re-queued and politely asked for four forks they asked what his name was and what he wanted to order, he said we'd already ordered and left the shop and please could he have four forks. Lady behind counter huffed at him and literally threw a pack of forks across the counter at him!I understand it's hot and you were busy, but you've lost one star for this. I could easily knock off more for the poor customer service. My 11 year old was really shocked and disappointed with such behaviour from a member of staff. When he had queued and asked politely. Perhaps include the forks as standard (we weren't the only customer who went back to get a fork or two!)That aside, you are easily the Best Fish and chips we've ever had, ever. Moist flaky fish, light, crispy tasty batter. Chips were creamy and delicious. Tartare sauce I could eat all day long and fab curry sauce!Yum. We will recommend but will also recommend asking for a fork when collecting your order.

It’s a long long time since my family and me have tasted fish and chips as delicious as these. The COVID arrangements were first class. Well done will definitely come again.
