We have occasional takeout meals from there it is generally good food and service Last week my wife hd a Fish Masala it was full of bones I’m not talking a couple of bones it had not been bones at all and was inedible 😞 We were not going to go back to replace it as it was late so I sent a contact enquiry through the web site no response, so I tried Facebook messenger No response I have asked several times and the messages have been read but nobody has responded hence the poor rating To add to this the takeaway was leaking and stained the seat in my car i should have checked but was in rush and it was dark

Ordered take away at 5.05, told it would be ready at 6, got there about 5.50 - handed food at 6.15. Took me 4 mins to get home - dished up starter, it was cold and the chicken was tough as old boots! Have been coming here for as long as I can remember - and this is BY FAR the worse we have ever had. What’s going on Rana?

Booked for a table of 8. Very welcoming on arrival. Staff very attentive. All food ordered was very good. Lots of choices on menu, some I have never seen at other restaurants. Overall a great evening.

Very relaxed air con restaurant. Staff very attentive with a wide range of food to choose from. Everything we had was amazing but very filling so I got a take away box and made sure nothing was wasted. Will be back despite 60 minute round trip from our hose that's how good it was.

I have been dining there for years and never had anything less than a first class meal. Lovely people who are attentive with happy smiles and always seek to look after their customers.

Having moved to the area recently it was the first time hubby and I had tried the restaurant and just wow! The staff were amazing, attentive, friendly and polite. I had a prawn and mushroom balti and hubby had a chicken tandoori balti and they were the best we’ve had in many a year. Tasty, hot and delicious. There was one man, we think he was possibly the manager, who was walking around which was a little odd, however, there was a table of young lads who were quite noisy so we thought he may have been keeping an eye on them. They didn’t bother us in the least, they were just having a good time. We would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants a truly tasty meal with fantastic customer service! I have just returned from a really nice meal at The Sunar Gow. Table service was good and attentive, regularly on hand to offer more drinks! The restaurant has a nice ambience with booths, so it feels intimate even when it’s not busy. The man we spoke to (presumably the Manager/owner) was willing to offer recommendations or to have something made a little different. A good recommendation too! We dined as a group of 4, every single dish was enjoyable (and that’s rare in my experience - for everyone to have really enjoyed everything they ate!) A local treasure which I slightly take for granted. My favourite Indian to eat in or take away. It’s really reliable for consistently good food. More than worthy of a good review, I think!

Visited for a meal on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was fairly busy which we took as a good sign. Was recommended the Rana special which was delicious. All of the food was very tasty and the staff friendly. Looking forward to a return visit

This is the best Indian in the uk if not the world! I said to my boyfriend the other day I’ve travelled the whole of the UK and this is the best Indian I have had and will ever have I’m sure! nightly recommended! Beautiful Place so welcoming ❤️

Possibly the best curry I've had since my trip to Agra. King Prawn special was outstanding. Deep, complex blend of spices without being just 'hot'. Peshwari -perfection. Visiting from Ireland for a reunion after 25 years, this meal marked the occasion perfectly. One to remember.

This wasn't the restaurant we had intended to dine at. When we arrived at our intended venue it was closed. A quick review of tripadvisor brought us here. We were promptly seated and given menus. We ordered poppadoms and drinks which arrived swiftly. After we had demolished our poppadoms we ordered our main courses. All the food we received was very tasty and the service was pleasant. The house white wine was reasonably priced and good.

We live abroad but always make time to go for a meal here when visiting. Excellent food, consistent flavours and very friendly.

I must say this is the second time I have gone to the sunar gow and let me tell you that you will not be disappointed. The decor and ambience of the restaurant was just perfect. The food quality, the taste and flavour of the dishes we ordered was heavenly. I enjoy eating out and love Indian food, and the sunar gow is a cut above the rest.The service complimented the food, with the service being exceptional. The waiter and restaurant followed all the COVID guidelines, and the staff was very tentative to our needs and a credit to the restaurant. I will definitely be going back again and highly recommend that you all try this restaurant.10/10. Keep up the work.

Decided to have a curry tonight but left it fairly late and just managed to catch New Sunagow as they were preparing to close but they stayed and cooked everything fresh for us and it was amazing.

Ordered takeaway via app and picked a time to pick up. APP really good and food ready on time. Food tasted really good BUT unfortunately it was only like warm.. Very disappointing as the taste was good. I am guessing it was cooked too early and therefore only like warm. Won't use the app again.

The food was pretty good but if the owners can’t stop foul mouth middle aged yobs who can’t hold their alcohol from shouting expletives while you eat it then it’s game over.

Visited this restaurant a few times.Meat in curries is inadequate for price. Average 5 pieces per curryRice portion poor,quarter of a plateMixed grill priced at approx £13 and you get 1 leg piece of chicken, 4 quarter pieces of kebab,1 wing and 1 prawn. Pathetic and poor tasting Curries themselves not authentic for eg butter chicken served as a yellow gravy tasting of a korma. Anyone who knows this cuisine will know that is not correct. Owner is deluded and boastful, he thinks he is serving high end authentic curries but in reality fooling the masses around this locality.Decor out of date.Take your money elsewhere!

We've just had a family meal there and the food was great as always It's a shame the staff do not understand the new Government dine-out scheme. We where on the premises for two hours eating and only ordered one meal person for 4, two of which where for children. Upon finishing our meal, as quite honestly we couldn't eat anymore we asked for remanded of the food to be packed so we can take it home like we do every-time we go there. It was at this point when asking for the bill I was informed that we could not take advantage of the dine-out 50% off scheme as we where taking the food off the premises.I challenged the staff member on this as it explicitly states that if you start the meal on the premises then you can also take away what is left and get the discount, as I've stated we were there two hours and only ordered a standard meal for a family of 4 so I hardly ordered a kitchen full to do a rapid scarper. I eventually got my discount with the caveat "we'll do it for you just this once", it did however take asking for the bill 5 times to actually get it even though the restaurant was not busy with only a few tables taken.I do hope this is a one off and hope nobody else is relived of their food unduly when the government guidelines clearly state you can take off site unfinished food and still have the discount.It was great to see the staff all wear their face masks, except however the owner/manager, who is very chatty and breaks the 1 m social distancing guidelines by literally standing inches away from you talking to you at your table. You really have ask yourself why the staff have to where them but he is immune. On a side note the owner/manager appeared to doing a lot of filming/photography of customers whilst they where eating without any express permission, it would be interesting to see if any of them turn up on social media.

Always great food, brilliant service and a good atmosphere. Highly recommend. Good for couples and groups.

Friendly staff and amazing food - highly recommend this well established Curry House that we have been visiting for the last 20 years.

As you walk in you are greeted with warm friendly helpful staff. The atmosphere is fantastic and very relaxing, the service was exemplary and very fast. The food was so tasty even when I was full I wanted more. The restaurant is fully licensed and our water jug was never empty. All in all a fantastic well priced evening and will definitely be a regular at this restaurant.

I have been dining at this restaurant for many years now and still rate it as the best in Lutterworth.Everyone is friendly and attentive and the menu is fully explained to you if you are new to the restaurant, and are not sure what to go for.

Had a great take out this evening. Turned up off spec and they managed to turn our food around really quick. Can't wait to sit in and eat when we can. Always great food and company while waiting.

I've been coming to the Sunar Gow for 15+ years. Fantastic every time! Highly recommend. Even during the current lockdown the takeaway was as good as ever.

This Indian restaurant is the best that we have ever been to. We have been going here for a few years now. We've tried different ones around in Lutterworth but they cannot compete with The New Sunar Gow. Food is out of this world. Staff are so friendly and make you feel at home. Raj the Manager always makes us laugh and is happy to help. Great beard by the way Raj!! Been going there so long they know what we have to drink.i would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fab meal, fab atmosphere and amazing staff.

For me this is the best indian restaurant in lutterworth. Food is great and staff are always there to help you if you are not sure of what to eat. I have tried many different dishes and everyone has been really good.Best service best food.

3 of us went for dinner here on a Tuesday night. We received a friendly welcome on arrival, coats were taken and were shown to our table. Menu had plenty to choose from but not so much you felt overwelmed with choice. The manager, Raj, helped us choose off the menu as two of us wanted something a bit different. All 3 of us said how tasty our meals were. Freshly cooked and piping hot.We have eaten here before but it's been a while since we've been. But we agreed we'd definitely be back again and a lot sooner! thank you for a lovely dinner!

Called up at 11pm to see if it was too late to book a table and they had no problem with fitting us in and giving us amazing food and service!! 100% will be back and recommend!

This was my first visit to the new Sunar Gow, I had an amazing experience with a large group of my friends. We rang up at 11:30pm and they allowed us to come into the restaurant and order food even though they were meant to close. The staff were extra friendly and really hospitable. The owner even let us put some song requests in. This place is the best in town, does over the Himalayan. 100% recommend this place to anyone in the area and passing through.

Been going here for 15 years, I now return with my wife and children. Always excellent food and service. Staff fantastic and love to support local family business

Stopped off here after driving through Lutterworth never been to this restaurant before but what a great discovery. Delightful meal, reasonable price lovely surroundings. On the whole a lovely experience. The staff/owner were so nice and friendly will certainly be back.. Soon

Where do I start? Absolutely awful service/meal and extremely rude staff! Came here on New Year’s Eve with friends and Family and we very much regret it. I Found a hair in my dinner which I pointed out to the waiter, who then accused me of ‘planting’ it there myself. This was then followed by some threatening behaviour from the 2 members off staff, 1 did eventually apologise but the other seemed to not care at all its a shame because we’ve used this restaurant a lot over the years! Being in a a family business myself I was appalled with the way they spoke to myself and my friends and do not recommend this to anyone.

Dropped in here on the off chance when passing through. A great decision. The smell outside was mouthwatering and enough to tempt you in. Despite it being a Saturday evening they made room for us even though we had no booking. Service was very friendly and prompt.

Just back from another fantastic evening. I have been here multiple times with my family and took my friend this evening. Service as always second to none, very attentive but not too over the top. Prawn biriyani was delicious as was my friends chicken tikka masala. All the staff are great but special mention to Raj who makes you feel special. Great restaurant, best in the area by far.

Fantastic meal was had last night at The New Sunar Gow. I went with my parents for our evening meal. None of us could decide what we wanted so the manager asked us what we liked and then he decided on 3 dishes for us based on what we’d told him. All three meals were incredible (unfortunately I cannot remember the names of what we had) I could not choose which one was my favourite as they were all so good. The staff were also very friendly. I would definitely go again and have my food chosen for me as it was a nice surprise when the food came out.

Popped in here last minute on Saturday with a friend having not booked, looks like we were lucky to get a table as by 7:30 it was pretty full. Service was swift, the guys were lovely and silly as it sounds, I really appreciated that my poppadoms were freshly cooked and really crunchy, many places pre cook and it’s just not the same. Great meal and the staff were more than happy to pack up my leftovers to take home for the other half. Will return if I’m in the area again.

Ordered a takeaway lastnight from Sunar Gow. We gave this ago as other takeaways in Lutterworth were hit and miss. Let's Just say I wish we went there sooner. We ordered a Biriyani, Meatball Curry, Onion Baji, Popodums and chicken Pakora and a Garlic Naan. Food was really nice, we even got extra Pops on top of what we paid which was a good gesture. The only negative would be the portion size of the starters, only 2 Bhaji and 3 Pakora. We ate all the food which is rare as some is left over normally. I'd highly recommend going here for anyone else let down by the other Indian Takeaways in Lutterworth.

My friend isn’t keen on curry but I told her to trust this place - owners son spent ages with her chatting and I have to say I’ve never seen her eat so happily she even tried something new . Food is alway so delicious loads of fresh herbs and a depth of flavour that is lost by many curry houses - many of the “mums” recipes try the raj yummy

We have been using this restaurant for years both for takeaway food and to eat in the restaurant. The food is always good and the atmosphere and staff are always welcoming. The Sunar Gow has a very loyal clientele and one can see why.

This has become our Indian Restaurant of choice. Outstanding service and by that I mean you really feel special there... All the staff are helpful, polite and chatty really adding value to your night out... We had a Balti, chicken tikka masala x 2 and a phenomenal fresh fish curry... they go the extra mile it was absolutely exceptional.... If you’ve not been there get yourselves booked in.. Tim, Claire, James and Amelia...

I have been coming here on a weekly basis and always forget to review! I can honestly can say the consistency of the quality of food is incredible (speaking as an Indian myself) it’s just like my mums home made cooking!! The team are fantastic well done.

Been here before and enjoyed it. A pleasantly appointed restaurant, with very tasty food and very good service. Unfortunately our evening was spoiled (and it was not late at night) by a table full of loud and ignorant people shouting and swearing. The waitress apologised to us, saying "I'm sorry about that table" but nothing seemed to be done to curb the people's behaviour. When we left the proprietor asked me if everything had been ok for us. i mentioned the disturbance and he rather dismissively said he was sorry but that the people concerned were "local and they are farmers" as though that justified their oafish and ignorant behaviour. Perhaps their money was thought to be better than ours.

I always enjoy the food in here, it has mostly the Indian dishes that everyone is familiar with but they are much better than most of the other places I have eaten.

Dinned on a Tuesday night as a half term treat. Really good food. Advice given on selection of dishes and Ranas Special was an excellent alternative to a jalfrezi. Spicy but multi layered in taste. Would recommend to try. Fussy teanage daughter recommended dishes that were full of flavour but not overly spiced.

Just visited Sunar Gow and tasted two of Rana’s new dishes. Both the fish and the chicken were excellent and the bhindi and paneer side dish was lovely - garlic and ginger complemented the fresh vegetables perfectly. Would highly recommend a visit.

Had a Saturday takeaway treat from here and everyone agreed was a lovely curry . Lamb was cooked nice, panneer was delicious, and naan breads tasty. Would go again.

I’ve been using this restaurant for over 29 years and have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the food by far the best of the 4 Indians in the town.

We went as a group of five and had a lovely meal at this restaurant. We had not been before and two of us were undecided as to what to order. The waiter was really helpful and asked us what style of dish we were looking for and if we had a preference for meat or fish. He made two recommendations and we were not disappointed. I chose a prawn dish and the prawns were huge and the sauce was just perfect. All of us had a lovely meal and we would definitely recommend this place. We aim to return in the near future.

Have used this restaurant many times and has always been good but tonight went with friends, who hadn't been before always a worry when you recommend somewhere and it wasn't good it was excellent! The whole experience was exceptional - from service and guidance re choosing food to suit your own taste to the delicious food itself. Unfailingly welcoming and friendly staff with good service and attitude. Super food, and according to visitors taken there, the food is as good or better here as you will get anywhere else including Leicester, Birmingham or Bradford curry houses. Prices are competitive, the decor is good and toilets spotless. I am told the fish curries are exceptional.

I like the fact that they will ask you what you like and then recommend something or when they’re quiet actually do something especially for you. Nice environment too.

Our family of five went here last Saturday night at the last minute. We were glad we changed our plans! The food and service was excellent and we all enjoyed our meals. I had the Chicken Tikka Sag Balti with Sag rice and nan bread. The food is fresh, well cooked and not at all oily like you get in some Indian places. The owners were charming and polite and were able to advise us on the dishes. The food is excellent value as well. All in all a great experience and we will be back even though this place is not on our doorstep - it's that good!

A friendly welcome when we arrived set the tone. Service was prompt and friendly, even including a good chat with the boss about different ways of slow cooking lamb. Our food was very good indeed...all of it, but notably the saag bhajee, the best I've ever had anywhere, with all fresh ingredients. Very good value for money too.

8 of us went on Friday, aged 5 upto 8 and everyone really enjoyed their meal. My brother in law ordered the Rana Special with lamb and was recommended to have it with 'a different type of lamb' when it come it was a whole lamb shank cooked in amazing tasting things and so much meat he couldn't finish it. This dish is in my photos and comes with rice, personally I would share it between two with a side dish of bombay aloo or other vegetable dish. I had the Raj special with chicken which was delicious creamy sauce with dijon mustard and spices. My husband had the Prawn Jenga Masalla which we didn't see on the menu but he has had it there several times before and we also had some Bhuna and a Tikka Masalla all of which was tasty. Half of the family likes nan bread very well done and was very happy with how this request was meet as generally restaurants and pubs don't do it well enough for them. The After Eights were plentiful, given with coffee and some more with the bill... All in all a great night and I am sure we will be back again soon!

I came here with my two sons for a family meal and we all very much enjoyed the experience. First off, the service is great, very attentive and also friendly. They help you to choose the best food for you, taking time to understand your likes and dislikes. We all 'went for it' and ordered a lot of quality food. The portion sizes are great because you feel like you've had a good sized meal, yet you are not bloated or dazzled by too full plates. The manager personally gets involved by introducing himself which is a good touch. We will eat here again.

We were travelling back from a family day out and decided to stop off in Lutterworth for a bite to eat. We parked in the market square, noticed the good reviews and decided to try The New Sunar Gow.The restaurant seemed busy for 7pm which was a good sign and think we managed to get the last table.Waiters were very friendly and helpful and offered advice. I was asked if I wanted to taste the monkfish special (pre-order only) and this was delicious. Despite the restaurant being full the service continued and the food was excellent, very tasty and slightly on the hot side. We thought it was good value as well.We would definitely dine here again if passing through Lutterworth.

My family were visiting from Essex so we booked at table at this restaurant. We called a few hours before to confirm they still had our 8pm reservation and all was fine. We turned up at 8:05pm and they had no table for us and told us to come back after 45 minutes. Here is where it all started to go wrong. After an hour (giving them a graceful extra 15minutes) they still didn't have a table ready so we had to all wait by the door for a further 20 minutes.Finally seated (at around 10pm) we ordered our bottles of wine and food. Wine comes out...no wine glasses so after trying to get their attention, I had to ask for glasses at the bar (these glasses then came in different shapes and sizes, my mum was drinking her red wine for a small champagne glass!).Starters came out ok and so I hoped this was a good turning point....wrong. After the starters were cleared, the mains stated to arrive. Of course my curry was forgotten about and so were some side dishes. I didn't see my curry until after my family had finished their meal and it was gone 11pm, safe to say I was over hungry by that point so my 4 small pieces of Paneer cheese had to do. I went to ask for the bill away from my family at the bar, as I didn't want to embarrass my step dad when I spoke to the manager about how poor our evening had been. The managers response was to refused to accept or acknowledge it was any of their fault (they blamed the people they gave our table to for EVERYTHING) and that he would not review the bill (I asked for my meal at least to be removed as I didn't eat it) but he said "No" and wouldn't even look up to acknowledge me.This then developed into an argument where the manager said he would only now talk to my stepdad as he is 'a good man who pays a lot'.This is when I realised they were taking advantage of my stepdads kind and forgiving nature and had probably made the decision to give our table to the other customers as they will exact my stepdad to just forgive and forget. Regular customers should be treated the same as everyone else if not then even better. This restaurant has no pride in service, just making money no matter what.We got some money off the bill, turns out the manager made a mistake when totalling and I don't think he had the energy to ask for it (or deal with me again tbh lol) I will never return to this restaurant.

The quality of the food is very good and the staff are also very attentive, particularly the manager who could not do enough for us, even in a party of 6. We have been 3 times this year and had the same quality of food and service every time.

Firstly, the food is good... which is a shame because the service is beyond weird! If you're a guy they belittle and insult you.... if you're a girl they, well, it's as if they've never seen a woman before and think leering at them all night will get them a girlfriend. We've been many times and it's always the same - my wife is considering making a complaint to the local authorities regarding comments directed towards her.It's unfortunate that the food is overshadowed by the service.

Saturday night, but wasn't too busy. Staff amazingly friendly, literally couldn't do enough for us, joking with my daughter and making her laugh. Food took a while to arrive, but worth the wait-portions not too big (but big enough!) so not much waste, really tasty. Highly recommended. Is also a popular takeaway, lots of locals popping in for food.
