We came as two couples the room was cold and not very inviting as we did book another table over 4 weeks ago. We ordered the drinks and guess what they got those wrong. We all had starters after requesting for salt and pepper which was not even set out on our table. On the TURKEY ESCALOPES plate which two of us ordered for the main what looked and tasted like frozen peas and carrots. Portion size was only adequate at best. After not requesting for a dessert we had seen enough. I cannot remember such poor service poor food and poor value for money. Each couple paid £75 which was daylight robbery.

Ordered from here before with no problems but was very disappointed tonight with how late the delivery was. Especially being lied to by the restaurant saying the food would be 5 mins and then the delivery driver contacting me saying they had only just left.

Not over priced at all. There is another chippy in the same village this one is far better on price and quality of food.

Best cricket venue in the UK Still the best cricket venue in the UK!

Booked a table by the website in August and received confirmation of booking. When arrived did not have a table ready. They found a very small table in a corner that was not made up and placed us there. Food was very good as always when I have visited this restaurant. However we were ignored for the evening and forgotten about. We were not offered anymore drinks, dessert or coffee. They cleared all the restaurant around us and it got very late so we just paid and left. Put me off going again.

We are returning regular local customers and every time we visit The Calcutta Club we are always made very welcome. This most recent visit was no exception and the food and experience was fantastic thank you!! See you soon. Robin Debbie and Louis 😁

Lovely bookshop, beautiful books. Lots of gifts too. The cafe serves good food, but the staff could be a little more attentive to those waiting to be seated. We were left waiting, (where asked near the bird food) when others were being seated from other entrances. Quite frustrating.
