Everytime we go to Lympstone Manor for lunch or dinner we are never disappointed. The service all staff give you is first class and the food is just exceptional. Michael Caines really has got it right. We need to go and stay again, as their bedrooms are beautifully decorated and make you feel you are somewhere special, and you are. Also, the breakfast, when we stayed, was exceptional too.One of our favourite places to eat. Go, you will not be disappointed.
I've always liked black cat and I love what the new owners have done with the place. I will say that some of the food is nice but not as good as it used to be, for example the breakfast scrambled tofu is a little bit too mustardy. It would be cool if we could have some of the previous classics too, is it possible to purchase the recipes from the previous owners?
The service and atmosphere is excellent though, wouldn't mind seeing it keep its political 'edge' too tho. Defo gonna keep coming but wanted to add some notes. This is a really nice cafe to sit at for a while and enjoy some food and drink.
Very friendly staff, Ellie and Daysan looked after myself and my wife allowing us to taste and recommending wines to compliment our food order. We had a fantastic lunch and cant wait to return.
We came here for the garden, though there is also a cafe at the entrance and a nice cafe with table service in the main house. FAR better value and better quality than National Trust places such as Sissinghurst.
The gardens are spectacular. Very large. Very neat and totally immaculate. Surrounded by spectacular Kent countryside as far as the eye can see. The Yew hedges are stunning. The walled garden is superb. The topiary is superb too. My wife is extremely keen on gardens and this is easily the most memorable one I have been to anywhere in the South East apart from it's equal Great Dixter. Both beat Sissinghurst (which is the tourist destination and frozen in time) hands down. They also don't have keep out signs everywhere - so you can go in the greenhouses and fully experience the place. In June the Delphinium display (national collection I believe) is fantastic.
Godinton is superb value. Highly recommended and great credit to the head gardener Viv Hunt.
Friendly staff good menu choice, opens early 8am which is a bonus. Scrambled eggs were nice

Went last night and for a Sunday it was extremely busy. Been here before and the food is always great, outstandingly good last night. Proper Italian food at reasonable prices.
