Superb 6-course tasting menu at lunchtime with the cheaper flight of wines. Great flavours and some unusual global influences/ingredients. Friendly, knowledgeable somellier. Faultless service by all staff. Brilliant.

I was ceklebrating a significant birthday and enjoyed the attentivness of the staff as well as the food. The setaing area was very comforable and the choice of wine / spirts was excellent.

Good venue, good ambience, good service and good food but, not exceptional. If you are expecting more of a South Pacific influence on the food, then sadly, it’s little more than words on the menu. However, the strongly French influenced cuisine is tasty, but the overall dining experience, which thankfully wasn’t rushed, does lack a bit of finesse in terms of food presentation, which may well be on show if Monica is present for service, given the high standards she insists on in various cooking shows! The quality of the dishes varied and also , some odd choices of side dishes like a bowl of limp lettuce and the lack of any special touches such as an amuse-bouche, is disappointing, given the prices charged. So, would I return? Maybe, but not until the menu changed. If you are planning a visit, then it’s wise to manage your expectations.

First time at Mere and we will most definitely be going back. The food and the service were first class . We had the lunch menu which was great value for money. And the icing on the cake was that Monica took the time to come and chat to every table.

This is a stylist venue and we visited for our staff Christmas Party. The food and service were outstanding however they ere very busy and our mains were delayed slightly. cannot wait to come back to try out again.

My second visit to this wonderful restaurant. it's such a great experience - extraordinary fine dining - divine food, fabulous wines, wonderful service. We were lucky that Monica was in on the day we visited and was as warm and welcoming as you would expect. Highly, highly recommended.

This place cannot get a review because it is absolutely ridiculously mind blowing !!! From the time you make a booking to the time you arrive ( and the lady you booked with actually remembers ) it is incredible ! There is a momentum here that carries through and one is made to feel right at home, but at the same very important, so about a review … so difficult as every single solitary detail is precision at its best so besides the incredible service, the incredible people where should one start with the food … mind blowing and passionately made !!! For 110000 miles I will travel again and again and look forward to returning … oh and just for good measure we met chef Monica so we now understand why the everything is so perfect. She’s one amazing human inside and out with the greatest smile and a great big genuine heart. An all round wow and then some. Thank you 🙏🏻

This was our first visit to Mere but it has been on the “to do list” for a while. We went for the taster menu and each course was a delight. The only minor disappointment was the hokey pokey ice cream which didn’t live up to my fond memories of the New Zealand favourite scoop. The front of house team and atmosphere were great and we will definitely be going back.

We’d been waiting to go here for a couple of years years after having a booking cancelled during Covid. We booked for a special joint birthday treat. We had the tasting menu and portions were minute - I mean absolutely tiny. The beef course was a tiny cube (like a stock cube) of beef and the other dishes were all similar in size. It just felt mean. Food was tasty but nothing outstanding at all and the whole experience felt a little bit like being on a very expensive conveyor belt. Service was rushed - so much so that at one point I asked my husband if he thought they were trying to turn the tables for a second sitting. Starters were brought before we’d even had a bite of the amuse bouche and I had to stop the waiter taking my food away twice when I put my fork down to try to slow things down a bit. They also spoke so quickly I couldn’t understand what they were saying when describing the food and hanging around chatting by the till/service station just by our table really isn’t on at this price. Drinks were incredibly expensive and for almost £400 for two for dinner it really should have been so much better. Finally - just a little thing but the toilets were really poor! They weren’t particularly clean, didn’t smell very good and the soap dispensers were rusty and dirty. Really odd that no one had checked recently. Overall sadly disappointed in the whole experience.

This was a long awaited trip for me and I was not disappointed. This restaurant deserves a star! I had the vegetarian tasting menu with the wine pairing. It was delicious. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and cannot wait to return. Monica thank you for your hospitality it was a pleasure to eat your food.

Very excited to try this restaurant and sadly found the whole experience underwhelming. Having eaten in many Michelin star and high end restaurants we found the food on the Tasting Menu to be mediocre and with mean portion sizes ( the first course of pickled vegetables were large chunks which needed a knife and fork instead of a small spoon; the salt beef had one piece of meat the size of an oxo cube). Unfortunately not one course could be said to be outstanding. The service was efficient but frenetic which didn’t make for the relaxing evening that we had planned!!

I cannot think of a more delightful and special place to have dinner in London. We look forward to our next visit, and we’re starting to save now! As a huge Monica fan, my dream is that she stops by the table to say hello, on a future visit, but my wife says I would pass-out!

Second visit. Same experience of very mixed service. A slight edge of superiority conveyed by some of the team. Seem to regard themselves more than their paying customers. Tried the potato main and it was disappointingly dull. Gave this feedback to the reaction “well it is potato”. Not what you’d expect for a £27 plate. Wines were superb.

Extremely disappointing experience. The service was overbearing and rushed ...we were overcharged a bottle of champagne and upon returning home we received an email saying we had not attended our booking and that we should read the No Show Policy. That was the final straw. This was supposed to be a special family dinner in London with our son - we were on holiday in London from NZ. I'm awaiting an email of apology and confirmation that we have not been charged a 'No Show Fee' given we paid 390 pounds for dinner already tonight.
