Veeno Italian Wine Cafe in Cheshire West and Chester

Good reviews encouraged us to call in for wine. However wine of choice not available and we prefer an establishment where the toilets flush and the climb to the toilets is not helped by exceptionally sticky handrails. Not for us. Back to Paysan !

We had a lovely dinner here - very cosy, superb pasta (the salmon rigatoni was exquisite) and the wines are plentiful and excellent. The service from Pratima was very friendly and she made sure were were well looked after. We enjoyed the dinner so much that we went back the following day for lunch and again it was excellent. Pasta and a drink on the lunch menu for £11 so very good value - the pasta was perfectly done and served piping hot. Definitely recommended.

A big thank you to James and the team, especially Fatima who talked us through our taste of Sicily wane tasting - the wine was accompanied by an excellent charcuterie and cheese board. The evening was very relaxed, Informative but without overload. A big well done!

What a marvellous lunch! The prices were totally fair and the staff were amazing! James met me outside and conducted me within and Ellis the chef was very engaging - both were incredibly welcoming and full of learning and experience. It is this welcome that makes the restaurant stand out from amongst the competition. I had a most wonderful lunch, tasting wines and eating great food. The wines were truly fine quality and delicious, varied tastes, with superb notes and advice from James. I liked the Marsala so much, I bought a bottle to take home. Viva Sicillia! All in all, this is my new hangout for a Chester Revisited; thank you James and chef Ellis - the home made Lasagne and the Tiramisu were out of this world! Nick the Caribbean yacht captain.

My husband and I received a wine tasting experience as a Xmas gift. What an experience absolutely fabulous we had the best afternoon and Marco who served us was brilliant. Can highly recommend!

We came for a wine tasting experience with friends. I would highly recommend this experience. The food was high quality and ample, in fact we couldn't eat everything we were served. The venue is lovely and our Ellie was knowledgeable and warm and friendly. As a person who says they don't like tiramusu I absolutely loved the one we had at this venue.

My wife booked a wine tasting experience for 4 of us at veeno, Chester. Welcome arrived and was greeted by Ellie who was fantastic throughout and was very knowledgeable, when it came to explaining each bottle of wine in turn, this was complemented with the array of different food tasters presented on a platter as we moved from two White's, rosé then two reds wines all were presented and spoken about with Ellie. To our surprise, finished with a traditional well presented tiramisu with Madeira, flavours leaving you with a perfectly end to the experience. Would recommend this to anyone as an experience.

We had a wine experience and this was accompanied by authentic Italian food.We tried 6 varieties of wine that was very generous.Our host greeted us and was extremely knowledgeable about which wine went with the food.We had a lovely window seat that was comfortable.Emily our host gave us plenty of time to savour the experience, she guided us the process of Rose,white,Red,and desert wines .

Visited for the taste of Sicily wine pairing and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. We sampled 5 different wines with meats and cheeses and a dessert wine with a tiramisu all expertly described by Priteem our server. A very enjoyable evening I would highly recommend.

Dropped in on the off chance and we’re lucky to get one of the last tables. We enjoyed a pizza and nachos which were both very good . The platters that we saw looked lovely and they also did an Italian afternoon tea which looked delicious. We had a nice bottle of wine but were interested to see they did wine flights and tastings too. We would certainly go regularly if we lived locally. The service was great too.

Used Virgin experience vouchers for afternoon tea with Prosecco. Food wasn’t good. Tiny pieces rolled ham with tiny bit of strong cheese. Miniature piece cake with scones defrosted and limp. Sandwiches covered with drooping rocket. Complained to lovely waitress . Chef said to have another Prosecco. Nice touch but afternoon was ruined. Staff waiting on were very attentive. Worse was on our way out another couple were having afternoon tea and it was so very much more food and better than what we had. Maybe the vouchers made the difference. If so Virgin experience need to be aware.

We had a meat charcuterie board with a garlic bread between two and were blown away with the taste. The service was delightful, with a smile, and they gave great recommendations. For those that love heat in their food, the nduja here is hot! Don't underestimate like we did. Still, we had a good laugh at our own expense when we realised just how hot it was. There is also a nice selection of wines and the staff were wonderfully helpful in selecting one for our tastes.

Took a while for the table to be cleared from previous customer. Spilt olive oil onto my bag from their plate. Asked for a cloth and glass of water, neither arrived, but the floor got a wipe! Good place to people watch but didn't live up to expectations. Disappointed when the 12.5% charge was automatically added on. However, the Grillo from Sicily was lovely.

What a lovely little restaurant!! we throughly enjoyed our dinner of Diavola pizza and seafood ravioli ,our server Isabel was lovely , 10/10 across the board.

We had a great experience throughout our meal at Veeno. We were cheerfully greeted at the door and shown to our seats. We ordered a simple pasta and pizza which was simple but full of flavour. The whole staff was lovely and thanks Ash for being our server.

What an outstanding visit. Greeted by Ellie who was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable regarding the wine choices. The whole atmosphere was fantastic. We were seated at the window table which gave us a great opportunity to watch the world go by whilst sampling dishes off the menu and drinking the delicious wine. We chose 3 dishes to share and were knocked out by the flavours and textures of the tagliatelle. The carpaccio was better than we have tasted anywhere. Top marks to Sam the chef. Issy was a friendly face who also served us. A perfect afternoon, amazing food, wine and service - what more can one ask for.

Came for valentines day we have been to veeno in Manchester many times before ot was sadly closed permanently its the best place ever for meat boards and wine! The service has been amazing Ellie was our server and she was so amazing with us made our experience like we was used to ! Taste of Sicily Wine Tasting afternoon. We visited as a family party of 9 for wine tasting afternoon for a birthday celebration. We were served by Aisling and Elle who couldn’t do enough for us. 6 delicious wines, with tasty charcuterie boards to pair with the wines. Aisling talked us through all the wines, the region they were from and the different notes to pick up on and what foods to pair them with. Very interesting and educational. Finished with Tiramisu and dessert wine -delicious. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Well done girls you were both amazing 👏. We will be back!

Visited Veeno for the 'Taste of Sicily' wine tasting. Probi guided us through the experience & was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was amazing & complimented the selection of wines really well. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is that I was not keen on a couple of wines, however this is purely subjective. I am now converted to dessert wine which tasted fabulous with the family recipe tiramisu. We had a lovely night & would certainly re-visit.
