The best restaurants serving African food in South East

Lula's restaurant has wonderful food, terrific service and is totally chilled out and relaxed. The food is truly excellent. Some dishes are spicy, others are not. All are super-flavoursome. The restaurant is just opposite the rail station and Said Business School, but it's worth the walk from the centre of Oxford. Also - during the day the Restaurant is open for coffee, cake and lots of scrummy things.

Such a good meal! Very well seasoned meat. The fries were so good too. The mac balls were insane! Basically all round super yummy food! We all enjoyed our meals (table of 9) The service was great! Staff attentive & smiley. Highly recommend :)

First experience of east african food, and had vegetarian platter with chicken wot. The bread was extraordinary and delicious complementing the other food. Piped ethnic music was pleasurable and staff and service were excellent. We will be back.

We had the halloumi burgers and they are simply the best we have ever tasted! Very fresh, well cooked and sooooo tasty. We will always come back here every time we go to Hythe. Simply the best!

The best greek food I have eaten in the UK. Babaganoush was light and flavoursome not stodgy. Halloumi in sesame delicious. All the meze very very good then the most succulent tasty chicken shish ever. Very worth it as reasonably priced too!

The beans🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾 I canNOT!!! They're amazing... like, melt in your mouth amazing. Great option for people who want something not so meat-heavy. It can be purchased with plantain or on its own. It would be great if they considered offering a Rice + Beans + Plantain Combo. Their stew is also lovely, but I do wish there was more of it in the Rice + Stew dish. This comes with either chicken or turkey🤌🏾 or a mixture. Although I think the owners are kind and professional, I think they could do with a bigger restaurant because the demand will only continue to rise, and it would be great to accommodate for that growth. So most times, I just get takeaway.

Went this evening with family. Highly recommend! Good service, good food and decent prices. As we were ordering to share and try each dish, it was presented for us to easily share which was a nice touch! Will definitely be returning!
