After 20 years of enjoying Ethiopian cuisine, I have to say that this is the smallest portion of food I've ever received at the highest price I've ever paid. I just spent £22 in London, and in the past, even with four people, we couldn’t finish one serving. Normally, when I order, the food serves me for two days, so it’s always been like £10 per day in my head. This time, I finished the food and I'm still hungry. While it was tasty, the price disparity is absolutely shocking. I can’t believe I left an Ethiopian restaurant without the usual 4-5 containers of food. This experience is truly disappointing.

I’ve been meaning to go here for months and was so glad I finally did! I’ve always want to try injera bread and stew, and this was so tasty I am going back for more soon. I had the no 11, a feisty lentil spicy stew/curry and my OH had no 1, a slow-cooked lamb (which he didn’t upgrade to ‘hot’ and was glad he didn’t as it was amply spicy). Both came on a single injera bread (we had the option to have both on one larger bread) and a well-seasoned side salad. Explore the menu thoroughly before you go and be prepared for a taste sensation and to leave stuffed! PS, you use the spongy injera bread pancake to scoop up the curry, so there was no cutlery on the table.

We were unsure about going in as no prices on the window to check. But we stepped in to read the menu and a young couple in there already encouraged us to stay. We had a sharing meal made up of a few dishes to try this very authentic cuisine. Vegetarian and meat dishes all delicious. It's a very small business but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. And still felt full hours later when it got supper time. Definitely recommend it.

Last night, I tried this restaurant. It was my first time eating this cuisine. The restaurant is small and welcoming as if you were eating in someone’s home. As I was unsure of what to eat, me and my table were helped by a lovely lady who also cooked for us. When the food came, it was fresh, hot and simply delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try different dishes. This restaurant is what Canterbury has been waiting for. Give it a try; you won’t be disappointed.

We have had Eritrean food before but infrequently so were interested to find this place in the back streets of Canterbury. The restaurant is small and basically furnished. The menu is quite extensive. We went for chicken stew, a beef jerky dish and a vegetarian spinach dish all served with and on injera. There was enough food for two and we didn't quite finish the injera. We finished the meal off with Eritrean coffee - the green beans were roasted to order over a flame and the resulting drink made with them was infused with dried ginger flown over from Eritrea. The coffee was strong and very spicy and we drank it with sugar. All in all the quality of the food was fabulous and I believe was very authentic. The food here is relatively expensive but it requires a lot of effort to prepare especially the coffee (£15 for the two of us) which is worth waiting for and is served with popcorn.

Restaurant was quiet when we went In (one other table) but 3 of us were squashed around a table for 2 when the other 2 people had been given a much bigger table. Atmosphere wasn't great most of the lights turned off couldn't really see menu very well. Having never tried this cuisine before it would have been nice to have a little bit of an explanation of the dishes to help us choose. The food itself was tasty enough,we got a sharing dish which was just enough food. We were discouraged of paying by card as it was easier for the owner to have cash but then they had the other table in there by card which was a bit weird. Overall something needs to be done to make the overall experience more welcoming.

This was amazing food, a completely new experience for us and a great time out with the kids. We went early (5:30), had no idea of what would be good - the host was super helpful, patient with the kids as they asked endless questions. We settled on a sharing plate for 4 (usually a risky choice, we're never sure if we should get 2 or extra dishes with 5 big appetites) and we only just finished it. It was all delicious, nothing like anything we have had before and the 'as much as you can eat' injera meant we barely finished it. The Eritrean tea was also incredible and a pot between 5 of us was still a generous serving each. Definitely going back... Mr-nearly-15 has requested it for his birthday!

Things that I liked, the Tea & the meal was tasty. Things I didn't like The Staff, was too busy, being loud & chatting amongst themselves than taking care of their Customers, converting the little venue more into a street food kiosk than a cosy indoor ''Bar/Restaurant'' that I would like to go back, left alone bringing a significant other for dinner. The Tea was good, but 6 Euro for tea? Really?? I find it abusive. But my fault I didn't look the price properly before ordering but still I find it too expensive. Overall food quantity? I paid the same price in Frankfurt last month for twice of the portion and with a much better service, atmosphere and decoration..I hope the owner see this and decide what they'll do with this comment.

I visited Saucy Flo's with my wife on one of it's steak nights. We both had the Galican fillet and I can honestly say it was the best steak I have ever eaten. The quality of the local produce is amazing and coupled with the reasonable price, it just can't be beaten. It's rare to get such a great standard of food and good portions too. The waiting staff were so friendly and there was a lovely informal atmosphere. But the star of the show was definitely the food! We just about had enough room for puddings and managed to squeeze in a peach and blackberry cobbler and a chocolate brownie and both were delicious. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
