We had the halloumi burgers and they are simply the best we have ever tasted! Very fresh, well cooked and sooooo tasty. We will always come back here every time we go to Hythe. Simply the best!

The halloumi burgers were absolutely fresh and dressed with ripe tomato, peppery rocket leaves and fresh aïoli on a toasted brioche bun. Delicious lunch on Hythe promenade overlooking the English Channel. Can't be bettered really. Great food, stunning location. Highly recommended.

Simple menu changes each time. Cooked to perfection. Best burgers for miles. Worth finding if you appreciate fresh ingredients and a casual dog-friendly atmosphere. Easy to park as well 👍👍🍔🍔🍟🍟

We visited unit one where zimbo cooks on alternate weekends. The menu is small usually three main dishes plus sides but the choice is cleverly constructed to cater for most people and as it is all prepared and cooked freshly he will adjust to suit your dietary or taste preferences. We have had several meals here all were prepared and cooked with an obvious passion to serve the best which is so refreshing to see and taste. The food does take a while to cook but that’s ok with us as you know it’s fresh. Talking of refreshing the kitchen is housed in unit 1 a micro brewery pub which has great beer at great prices. The whole place has such a good vibe with kids and dogs welcome. And next to the military canal has a great setting. Last night the place was packed so I was hesitant to review for fear of not getting a table but they deserve a good review for all their hard work and the passion they put into every dish. Excellent and deliciously honest food prepared and served by an inspired crew every other weekend...if the halloumi fries happen to be on the menu on the day of your visit - they are a MUST...check Zimbo's social media for what's on!

Excellent place to stop whilst walking along the canal west of Hythe.. Slightly more out of the way by road, but well worth the effort. This is a small concern run by the chef, who is preparing fresh truly homemade food from a short menu of three to four items one being veggie, cooked to order. The food has an african twist - the clue is in the name of the place. He opens alternate weekends, sharing the facilities with another team which we haven't tried yet.The menu changes each time Zimbo's is open - this last weekend were burgers - three types - beef stuffed with cheddar and bacon, pork with pear and stilton, and a moist, delicious chickpea burger - all with his own recipe sauce, salads, fries etc - between us we tried them all. My chickpea burger was excellent. Due to the fresh preparation you may have to wait a short while, whats the rush? Better that than getting fast rubbish! It also means that the chef will try and cater for personal preference as well, i.e. vegan, gluten free etc. The premises are a converted warehouse unit - its comfortable, warm, and basic - no problem to wear walking boots or take your dog.Additionally there is a micro brewery next door, and a bar in the unit with the food - so there are teas / coffee, locally produced beers and ciders just to complete the experience.This guy is working hard to fulfil his ambitions - go and find him, try his food and enjoy the taste you will not be disappointed. Great burgers with a great choice of cider and beer and atmosphere, the changing menu gives you options to try all sorts on different weekend. Lovely stuff.
