Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
08/01/2020: We walked up Mt. Snowdon in early Jan - and it was cold and icy. And then we found this fantastic place at the bottom of the hill. We had the best hot chocolates ever - not just because is was warm and snuggly inside (log fires and wooden chairs) but because of the special ingredient... The owner then gave a great recommendation for lunch - Black Boy Inn in Caernarfon - and also gave directions for a lovely walk through the forest. It literally made our day.
07/01/2020: Visited here on a wild cold/wet day, soaked to the skin and the owner Steffan was very hospitable and welcoming. We had a superb tea with cream scones and jam and overall left feeling very happy. I shall definitely visit again in the future.

No. 46 Coffee Shop

Criccieth, Gwynedd
13/01/2020: Enjoyed a cream tea for two today. Huge, tasty scones and plenty of clotted cream and jam. Also a really nice, welcoming environment. Looking forward to calling again soon, for lunch.
07/12/2019: We had a lovely lunch and it was a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend the cakes and hot chocolate . We and will visit again soon.

Aberystwyth Rheidol, Ceredigion, <20£
22/12/2019: Tempura prawns were disappointing but the sauce was nice. Pork cheeks were ok but the sprouts were soggy and bitter. However the biggest surprise was having to go outside to the public disabled toilet further along the seafront in the dark ... not a venture I would have liked to have done alone!
05/12/2019: This must still be the best place to eat in town..... bit pricey but well worth the must book to be guaranteed a table....just Love it... cant wait to return....

Harry's Bistro

Beaumaris, Isle of Anglesey
20/01/2020: Harry's Bistro is based inside the HPB (Holiday Property Bond) venue near Beaumaris in Anglesey. So most of the diners will be HPB owners looking for a respite from self catering. There is usually a dining facility at most HPB properties, and they are usually good and well supported. Harry's Bistro is no exception. The food is of a good standard and so is the service. The welsh faggots were particularly good. The wine is probably over priced, though you can get a bottle for about £18. I couldn't find a menu outside the place so had to venture in before I found one.
20/01/2020: Bit of a mix up over the booking but once sorted everything was as good as before. Attentive and friendly staff, lovely fresh bread, olives to start. The belly pork with crackling is amazing! Deserts are good too! Reasonable wine selection.

Bistro Bermo

Abermaw, Gwynedd, 20-30£
27/12/2019: Had an absolute fantastic Boxing Day Meal with the family. The atmosphere, food and welcome were all super. A very very special restaurant.
08/12/2019: The food was very good quality, with a varied and interesting menu, which had plenty of tempting choices. The food was also beautifully presented. The service was attentive without being over the top. The restaurant is small, friendly and relaxing. Highly recommended.

Coastal Cafe

Moelfre, Isle of Anglesey
27/12/2019: Excellent!!! As a treat on our last night we have just had take out tea from Lisa and John and as always it’s bloody GORGEOUS!!!!!!!! I had the Zinger Tower Burger and Holly Sugar it’s huge, full of flavour and so so filling with a big hint of “ I’m having that again!” Mum had small fish which isn’t small small but again batter is perfection, perfect crisp and golden and that real crunch with the crispy ends! I had the spicy curry sauce and mum had the mushy peas again full of flavour and Morish!! As a treat we had a scollop each and some chicken strips to share!! And again cooked to perfection!!! And I must say TRY THE HOMEMADE ONION RINGS!!! Heaven on a plate! And to be honest EVERY visit we’ve had here from sitting in or take out has been perfect in every way!! Staff are brilliant and ask as many questions about the food as you need as NOTHING is to much for these guys! And as for the owners same again, friendly faces, polite and always say hello to ALL customers!! If you’ve not been here then why not?? It’s defo not one to miss on your travels!!! O and if you really fancy a burger I recommend ALL of them! As over the visits I try and have a different meal each time and every meal has been top notch!!! I’ve tried a few places BUT I always come back here as this is the only one that has, for me, the best full flavour meals with a HUGE variety and even with fussy eaters nothing’s to much for these guys!! So well done and keep up the fantastic food!!! Xxx
30/10/2019: Lovely little cafe serving great food also an extensive GF option and vegan, would highly recommend if in the area, both sit in and takeaway options at reasonable prices. Lovely friendly staff and a clean cafe.

Y Sgwar

Porthmadog-Tremadog, Gwynedd
01/01/2020: We eat in here pretty regular & have done for years and can honestly say that it is the most consistent restaurant in the area! Food, service, location, wine and ambience is always perfect! Looking forward to many more great meals in 2020.
30/12/2019: Lovely restaurant with attractive upmarket interior. Separate vegan menu. Very much enjoyed the vegan options. Especially the mezze platter. Others in our party had various pasta dishes & one had stuffed aubergine. All from the vegan menu & all were delicious. Would return.

Bouchard Restaurant Inn

St. Julians, Newport
19/01/2020: We have friends who have a vacation house in Newport and we try to get to Restaurant Bouchard at least once a year. It never fails to be a wonderful experience. If you are interested in a quick bite, this is not the place for you. If you are interested in wonderfully prepared classic French dishes, this is it. Our waiter last night, Daniel, is a delight; very professional and the wives find him absolutely charming. He clearly knows how to establish a rapport with his customers.
15/01/2020: We chose this restuarant on other reviews and were not disappointed. Full marks to Restaurant Bouchard, Chef Jess, Maitre d' Brittany and staff Marco and Maxim (apologies if I have spelt names incorrectly). We enjoyed our meal so much on the first visit, that returned a couple of nights later to repeat the experience. Thank you.

Salt Marsh Kitchen

Tywyn, Gwynedd
05/01/2020: The food here was definitely the best we had in the area during our holiday. The atmosphere was really relaxed and the owners very friendly so overall a great dining experience.
21/12/2019: Great place! Love the atmosphere and food was brilliant. Would definitely recommend for a lunch spot

Da Mara

Penylan, Cardiff, <20£
17/01/2020: Food and service excellent especially Elizabeth looking after us, fantastic experience xx very friendly and a warm welcome would highly recommend
17/01/2020: Simply the best. Best pizza, fresh homemade pasta, wonderful service. All fresh and delicious. We loved it.

Tenby: South, Pembrokeshire
08/12/2019: Lovely hidden away restaurant set back into the castle walls. Food was outstanding with a special mention to the Venison which melted in the mouth. A lovely, unhurried air only added to welcoming atmosphere and was a nice change to the often rush rush feeling you get in so many restaurants these days. Highly recommend to all that visit Tenby.
17/11/2019: We came here a few days after the restaurants reopening and had a thoroughly great evening.

The stowaway coffee co.

Tenby: South, Pembrokeshire
26/12/2019: Super little coffee bar and snacks, crab sandwiches and pastries. Lovely friendly staff, what's not to like? Only problem, it gets full.
18/11/2019: Everything was fine - lovely little place. Owner/barman pleasant and chatty. Very cosy. No idea why the review insists on 100 charcters

The Looking Glass Ice Cream Parlour

Gogarth, Conwy
03/11/2019: We just couldn’t stay away from here as the ice cream was gorgeous and the hot chocolate was fantastic well worth a visit
09/10/2019: Loads of choice of ice cream flavours. Can have cones, tubs, waffles, crepes. Choice of toppings. Well worth a visit.

Seiont, Gwynedd
05/01/2020: One savoury, one sweet (with everything on) pancake. Really filled us up and very tasty. So glad we called in
06/11/2019: Called in with family while on a weekend away. Great range of homemade pancakes and ice cream. Family really enjoyed their food and visits and we took away great syrups and biscuits. The team working could not do enough for us. Would really recommend.

Y Polyn

Llanddarog, Carmarthenshire, 30-45£
19/01/2020: Yet again, ANOTHER fabulous meal at this, our favourite restaurant. Two dishes new to us, this visit, the Skate salad starter and the Expresso Cheesecake dessert. Absolutely DELICIOUS. The Mains were up to the usual standard ... very very high ! You will never regret visiting this gem of a restaurant. Also, worthy of mention, is the great welcome by front of house staff, Steve and Helen.
11/01/2020: The food is always of high standard here, however not always to my taste. However lovely to try new things and the lunch time menu is fantastic value for money . Choice of 3 starter, mains and desserts for £16.50/£20.50 dependent on 2 or 3 courses, Tuesdays to Saturdays i believe.
