Penceunant Isaf Tea Rooms

Llanberis, Gwynedd
19/08/2018: After having a long hard climb up the PYG track shrouded in fog and drizzle we decided to descend down the Llanberis Path and worry about how to get back to the car later....
19/08/2018: We called into Penceunant Isaf after a very wet clim down Snowdon , we were greated by Steffan, who was an absolute gem of a host, full of fun and a mine of information. The welsh cake he gave to us was delicious. We had only planned to stay for a quick warm up and a drink but were so comfortable we settled in for a couple of hours. Its a must do when visiting Snowdonia

Bosun's Locker

New Quay, Ceredigion
11/09/2018: We had been 2 years ago and visited again this year for another afternoon tea, and we were not disappointed, another fantastic feast of sandwiches, with added little snacks of quiche and others, followed by homemade cakes!! Yum!
11/09/2018: What a wonderful find, serving excellent delicious wholesome food in a spotless dining room at a remarkable price. Such a lovely change from the multitude of presumptuous so called 'gastro' eateries! And what portions! Excellent Sunday lunch. Wish we lived closer, well done team!

The Brit Pub

Bryn and Cwmavon, Neath Port Talbot, 20-30£
27/08/2018: Group of 14 booked for meals, all came piping hot not a single issue with any of the meals, good atmosphere polite friendly staff very helpful
26/08/2018: Visited this pub today while traveling to Afan forest, a gorgeously decorated pub with such a quirky vibe.

On the Hill

Ruthin, Denbighshire
18/08/2018: We come here as a treat as the food isn't your everyday menu, where they have some great combinations and choices. We've not been for over a year and all was great this time too. Wonderful food, service and experience. Narrow stairs to 1st floor and toilets on 2nd floor (I think there are accessible toilets on ground floor but do check). We ate around 7pm on a Thursday night and it did get busier with a large party in the top room. The hummus and crisps as a nibble (free) were lovely and not too heavy. We chose some light nibbles to share as our starters (great choices). This is a really good idea as I always have a starter but then struggle to eat all my main. I had the Asian chicken trio and not what I'd normally go for but wow, it was delicious and I ate every bit of it. The flavours were wonderful together. Drinks are reasonably priced and the no-alcohol cocktail was a nice touch (I didn't try as saw after I'd already ordered).
17/08/2018: A really good choice of food - one of those rare places with so many good choices on the menu. The fish options were particularly good. Parking is tricky, but well worth a visit.

Salt Marsh Kitchen

Tywyn, Gwynedd
16/08/2018: This restaurant is amazing. Been a few times now and always loved the food. But this meal was our best yet.
15/08/2018: A family meal for my daughter’s birthday and this (the title) was what my youngest daughter said! Fabulous food and great service.

Creme Pen Cei

New Quay, Ceredigion, <20£
17/08/2018: Always a first stop when in new quay plenty of selection very reasonable in price and always helpful.
15/08/2018: This really is ice cream heaven! There really is every possible flavour on offer from your ordinary vanilla to the more obscure Jaffa cake, Rolo or Kinder Bueno... they also have gluten/ dairy free choices.. Small or large cones available (plain/chocolate/honeycomb/sprinkle covered) and the scoop sizes are really very generous... come with an empty stomach!! We travel 20 mins to get here and it’s totally worth it every time..

Aberystwyth Rheidol, Ceredigion, <20£
17/08/2018: We had booked this before our holiday as it looked such a lovely place, and definitely wasn’t disappointed, great setting, fantastic food & great service.
12/08/2018: My partner and I visited Pysgoty for the first time last night. We were originally in the reserve booking list for Saturday evening and thankfully, due to a cancellation, they were able to accommodate us. We weren’t disappointed. Starters of fish soup and fish cake were ordered. Both were excellent but the fish soup was exquisite.

Blas at Fronlas

Newport, Pembrokeshire, 20-30£
15/08/2018: My friend and I were walking the coast path, and got caught in the rain in goodwick and there was no where to stay in the area except for this place in Newport. We arrived and the owner was very welcoming and showed us up to our room. The beds were very comfy (especially after having slept in a tent for the past few days) and the shared bathroom was clean and wonderful. The B&B; is situated just opposite a spar and up the road from a pharmacy. Newport is also just a wonderful little town! Breakfast was included in our stay and we were very pleased with our choices, eggs on toast with salmon and a full breakfast plus coffee. The place was obviously popular with locals and travellers alike. I will definitely visit again one day!!
09/08/2018: Excellent food served in the rear sunny garden. Really friendly staff and very fast service.... always helpful when you have young children with you. Many thanks

The Brewery Inn Cosheston

Lamphey, Pembrokeshire
16/08/2018: Had been recommended the Brewery Inn by friends who have recently moved to the area. Reading the reviews and it sounded too good to be true but we booked in for Sunday lunch anyway
11/08/2018: We booked up three days ahead and were lucky to get in. Such is the quality of the fare on offer, the Brewery Inn has a real reputation for great food with locals, and now with Trip Advisor, all visitors! The beer was an excellent local brew and the grey mullet outstanding. Check out the specials board- they really are worth exploring. The service was unobtrusive, polite and efficient and the food was brilliant- really can’t fault anything

Oystermouth, Swansea
19/08/2018: Nice ice cream but not a pleasant environment for coffee...too cramped and noisy. Better places to meet ....
19/08/2018: Best place to go with so many different flavours to choose from. Always busy, which speaks volumes, open late a few nights too. Some say it’s expensive for ice cream but when you get the best, you don’t mind paying a little bit extra! Parking can be an issue, especially peak times in Mumbles.

Carlo's Restaurant

Craig-y-Don, Conwy
26/08/2018: Went here with my good lady on our last night of a short break, good job it was last night otherwise no other place would of got a look in, Service staff, and food were all fantastic, we both had Steaks with different sauces and both were superb and perfectly cooked for us. We managed to do all 3 courses even though portion s are generous without losing quality. Thanks to you all and thanks to Carlo for your insight to your restaurant's history, it was a lovely way to end our short break
20/08/2018: We stayed with pasta and it was very good. The serves were very generous and we were defeated so no deserts. Starter were interesting and varied with the traditional still being available. Service was excellent and wine very good would definitely go back

The Hellenic Eatery

Cathays, Cardiff
20/09/2018: This place is unbelievably good! The place is quite hidden on a busy road, but when you step inside it's very fun. They often have Greek musicians in to play for the restaurant and have screens playing footage of beautiful Greek villages.
19/09/2018: If you like Greek food and culture, you will love this place. Food is really the star point of this place at very reasonable prices.

Bistro Bermo

Abermaw, Gwynedd, 20-30£
18/08/2018: Ola, the owner, receives you with the warmest welcome and automatically you feel at home. The food is amazing, very creative and tasty, with lots of influence from celtic roots, mediterranean or indian. Excellent chef, Jose, that I have the pleasure to know, really hard worker and very talented. Each piece in your dish is made with lots of love and you can feel it. Thanks so much for that incredible experience!
17/08/2018: One of the best meals I have ever had. Fantastic seafood, amazing pear, pecan and caramel pudding, lovely atmosphere, charming service

Wavecrest Cafe

Llanfaethlu, Isle of Anglesey, >100£
17/08/2018: 6 of us came for lunch on a wet Sunday. Really friendly welcome (makes all the difference). Good choice of options although not that much for vegans. 2 of the 6 of us had dairy allergy and they struggled a bit. To be fair they tried to accommodate and were super helpful, just not many standard options to cater for vegans or dairy intolerant people. The scones were AMAZING. I had gammon main and that was great. The Prawns Marie were disappointing, looked a big dish but it was mainly salad and pasta, hardly any prawn. Would I come back, yes definitely. Just need to pick the right thing. Lovely setting too. Can't quite give it a 5* but a good 4*
16/08/2018: Visited today was welcoming by all staff scones were amazing bought a bottle of the sauce which is lush, beautiful setting would definitely recommend. Will be back....

Seiont, Gwynedd
18/08/2018: Every time we’re in the area we make sure to come to scoops for their delicious savoury pancakes. The spinach base is an easy win. Yet to try the sweet ones but definitely on our bucket list!
15/08/2018: Good tasty icecream tried, one ive never had before. - i can't remember which one i was now. had a couple of samples before buying, both samples were nice and some interesting flavours to choose from. crepes looked nice too.
