The best restaurants serving Spanish food in South East

Lovely little place nice beers and cheap good food. Nice staff very chill place.

I’ve been for lunch & dinner friends, our family of 8, and also as a couple and it’s always been lovely. We love the tapas. ❤️ I also love that they do so much with the local community, local creatives, artists, local musicians, activities etc as many local venues seem to book from outside the area, which is great for variety, but it’s often overlooked how local musicians can draw a local crowd in on a regular basis. The activities held at Alento are great. The staff are really lovely, when we were there in August, they were brilliant!

I had been recommended this Tapas Restaurant. I booked a table for 6 o’clock and we were the only people in there ,so it reallylacked atmosphere. Also, the service was terrible. Nobody came over and asked what we wanted; we had to o ask , or how was our meal, or would we like another drink. Also you have to sit on stools which were incredibly uncomfortable. I won’t be going there again. Shame, the meatballs were lovely.

Booked 3 weeks ago for a spe ial birthday treat. Turned up this evening to find it had shut down... They couldn't even bothered to have told us....

Brilliant food, authentic tapas, chorizo, prawns and Patatas bravas was super nice and the aioli was heaven! Perfect evening with my bestie! Oh and churros come in a cup of chocolate which you could easily drink!!!

We were driving through East Grinstead and needed a dog friendly place to eat. CJ's came up and we decided to give it a ago. The staff, especially the woman behind the bar was so kind and accommodating. We had two dog and a push chair with a 10 month old. She suggested the perfect table with lots of space and they gave us a booster seat which attaches to the stool, as well as loads of dog treats for our pooches. We ordered the Club Sandwich and BLT's and were all really happy with our food and drinks. Would definitely go again.

Nice courtyard with potential to be a great venue - but - we had to wave/call and ask for service each time we wanted to order/get a drink, were only told menu items were not available once we had placed the order (for both food and beverages), had an unenthusiastic waitress and who literally side wristed our bread basket at our table (the bread of which was rock hard) as she passed. We also had to ask for knives and forks once our food had arrived. No salt & pepper etc was on the table or offered. We were very disappointed with our experience.

the staff were friendly and very helpful and the food was really good. We had sugar snap peas whilst we were waiting for our tapas, five for £25. I haven't ever seen them in other restaurants and decided to try them; great decision, they were really tasty. the 5 tapas were also really tasty; a selection of meat, fish and vegetarian options to mix and match. We had 5 between two of us and there was more than enough. My favourite was the whitebait, so soft and succulent; and the ribs, also tender and delicious, in fact all or it! They also do churros for dessert, among other things, but we were too full up so we'll have to go back! They also had a live guitarist who was really good and not too intrusive. Hope this place gets plenty of christmas party bookings this December, they deserve to do well.

We attended an event the other night. A unique venue a bit like a war bunker. Bar staff friendly but the whole venue could do with a clean. Reasonably priced. The stairs leading down to it, makes it not disabled friendly.

I just ordered 2 meals, the guy serving thought he could take advantage. £17 for burger & chips and chicken nuggets & chips Without a drink - should have been 2 drinks in the meal deal I'm all for local businesses making money, but don't rip me off Disappointingly, I feel robbed

I came to restaurant branch for a lovely afternoon meal out. I simple asked if a member of staff could help get tomato ketchup out of a bottle, as the sauces were not stored at the correct temperature, and the sauces in the new bottles, was rock solid. I experienced there team members being narsty to me, half of tomato ketchup bottle ended up all over my clothes the staff member throw it all over my clothes, it landed on my work shoes, my favourite top which had an animal printed on it, the top it’s self it discontinued so hard to replace. And the sauce went all over my top and jeans and they wiped me with a blue cloth. The manager apologied and said I could get it dry cleaned. I also had weight loss issues, had gained 50.2 kg in weight before the incident after the incident I lost significant weight I am now at 49.2kg (7 stone 13) I have now got to work hard to get my weight back up again. The manager said I could not have free food and drink and desserts until my weight was gained back. They also told me I could not have a selfie wearing the Nandos cap. The team there also said I could not charge my phone as I was 6% and then later told me I had to pay for burger buns as the original food item my favourite on there menu I would really like is the butterfly chicken burger but ended up with something else. They also choose not to put the tomato sauce into a gold / silver dip pot. I was disappointed by the experience as not only had it had impact on me emotionally but also had a health issue impact. The branch team members started laughing for 5 minutes when the incident happened and made me upset as they thought it was a joke. I was wearing a cap at the time if they got the cap, that would have been awful. My clothes are hard to replace. They also said I couldn’t not have a selfie with Nandos baseball cap, sat on table 1. I disclosed I was autistic and had adhd problems and health issues and they started laughing at me like laughing Hyenas for 5 minutes

Not the cheapest, but lovely food and staff.

The food was horrible, too much salt, and the guys were totally rude to us. We're not going back there, even if the food was free!
