Bit of bizarre experience. Attended at 8:30pm on holiday weekend to check if there was a table available. Female waitress asked if we booked and as we hadn't she stated they had no room and a full sitting was due despite the fact there was dozens of tables free. This was strange as they had entertainment and I couldn't believe 70 people were about to attend. We got a take away elsewhere and looked back later in to find none of the tables had been taken as the waitress had stated. It was abundantly clear she lied about the next 9pm sitting. She looked shocked when we popped our head in again as we all knew it was not true. It's their restaurant and up to them when to accept customers but I feel this was not a manager just a lazy waitress getting rid of customers so she can have an earlier home time. Next day we attended at midday and pretty empty and got a table and had lovely cocktails and food. Would highly recommend this restaurant (as long as you are not greeted by the lazy and inexperienced hostess who doesn't care about customers or if the owners make money) The following day we tried to get a delivery stated on website they provide but not only do they not deliver they turned down us collecting food as well. Great place and great food but if I was the owner I would be horrified a couple of staff turn down trade so easily.

Went as a group of 6 friends based on recommendation of one friend who had already been there several times. The vegetarian tapas were great. The meat/fish eaters didn’t enjoy theirs as much. Busy place but that also meant it was difficult to hear each other so there were smaller conversations going on rather than a whole table conversation. Service was ok, not sure everything came out until we reminded/prompted. The dessert- vegan choc orange tart wasn’t good, seemed frozen and pretty flavourless. Would go back for the vegetarian tapas but wouldn’t recommend to others based on the feedback of the non-vegetarians and noise levels.

Last night of a week long holiday in Hastings and Las Tapas was open so thought we would give it a go. Issue with veg delivery meant no Padron Peppers which was a shame. Had the Patas Bravas, Chorizo and Prawn dishes. All cooked to order. You can see the kitchen area so you know exactly what is happening to your food. All excellent. Churros and chocolate sauce, well.... Staff very friendly

The best nachos I’ve ever had in Brighton was from Carlito but my recent visit left a lot to be desired. The nachos were smothered in an ultra processed cheese sauce which disguised how little real cheese there really was. There were no refried beans, there wasn’t any real salsa and the portions size was quite shameful. You might expect this from a pub when you’re paying 6 quid but not from a Mexican and paying £12.50. My quesadilla was reasonable but lacked much flavour and there wasn’t really much food inside the tortilla. To be charged service and still be hungry was a bit of an insult. It’s supposed to be street food - you would never expect to be charged service for street food when you’re in and out in 20 minutes. Fair enough if you’re in a group and having cocktails etc. Los nachos no son muy buenos y mi quesadilla es razonable.
