Wow, wow, wow! Absolutely amazing food, layers of flavour with every bite. Great hospitality and so authentic. I will definitely be returning next time I'm at Brighton.

I absolutely loved the food here. We tried the fish tacos, pork quesadilla, and corn, and each dish was delicious. The margaritas were also incredibly tasty. Although the service was a bit chaotic with only one person handling the front of the house, she was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely return.

I order from these guys through Uber Eats a fair bit, and the food is exceptional. Really fresh, authentic flavours and really great sized portions too. The Cheeky Chicken Burrito is a go-to, and the basil aioli is SO good. Make sure you get the Hallouminati too - deep fried halloumi with a chipotle dish. Best thing ever. Well worth a visit.

If you like great authentic Mexican food, good portions and great flavour this is the place. The food is packed full of flavour so much so we had to order more! Drinks are lovely too.

I must admit, it’s my favourite place to go for a naked burrito whenever I’m in Brighton. I love the casual, friendly vibe of the restaurant and the food is always delicious. I just had their banana blossom naked burrito and it was gorgeous!

We were visiting from London and stumbled across this little gem! The Mexican food was outstanding and the margaritas were amazing. A big thank you to Chloe & Julius who were lovely and made our visit perfect, just wish they’d open one in London! Highly recommended and we will definitely be back 😊 p.s. very dog friendly too!

My boyfriend and I came here for an early valentine’s meal and had absolutely no complaints. Both the cocktails we had were incredible (the huapanga was my fave), and the food was delicious too. My boyfriend particularly loved the halloumi starter! The real highlight though is the staff. The waitress and bartender were so attentive and kind, and made the whole experience. Absolutely recommend!

Lovely lunch with excellent service

My favourite Mexican restaurant by a mile, can't recommend it strongly enough. Absolutely lovely service always, super friendly environment and the food is superb - the fish tacos are seriously as life-changing as they claim, and the fish burrito even more so. Go here.

Hands down my favourite Mexican restaurant in Brighton. The food was insane and the pricing wasn’t bad either especially for the quality. Margaritas are great and have a chilly rim which is very yummy. Highly recommend the nachos !

I had a phone call from the caller Carlito Burrito where I was being sold a new 3 mobile contract. I have never been to this restaurant and I find it an odd service

Ordered a burrito and they somehow managed to wrap the foil inside of the tortilla. This meant it was completely inedible. It appears that they realised they had a problem whilst wrapping and instead of making a new one, proceeded to wrap it in 5 extra layers of foil and pass it to the delivery driver. Reported to Uber eats due to it being unsafe to eat

I booked in advance to get a good table and still think that this is the best Mexican food in Brighton but the service was SO bad this time. We won’t be going back. We arrived and our table wasn’t ready we had to ask to sit somewhere else to wait and the staff member was clearly unhappy with that We ordered drinks and food and even though our table had cleared were told to stay put squashed uncomfortably on a four person table with a buggy rammed in beside us. I’d understand if we were walk ins. The staff member -I think the owner- was very stressed and busy but made no effort to apologise or acknowledge his gruffness. We all felt uncomfortable with his attitude and it ruined the dining experience. Shame, it was our favourite restaurant.

Burritos are good but a bit pricey now at £12.50 a pop, used to be so much cheaper, but I guess everywhere have raised prices. A burrito and a drink for 3 with one drink each was £65 including tip, ouch

Really lovely place to go. It is well worth the price, from service to food to atmosphere, everything was 5 stars. Margaritas were all amazing regardless of which one you chose (my favourite was mango). The nachos were a great starter but would’ve also made a great meal for someone. All the tacos we ordered were delicious. I had the steak tacos, which had a lovely marinade with more of a kick than I was expecting (not complaining though) and an absolutely delicious cheese twirl and salsa. I would also recommend having the churros for dessert if you have room and get both sauces as they are equally delicious. All the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, happy to answer questions and always ready to take an extra drink order.

The lack of spice levels and the overall flavour quality, which I would rate at a mere 30%, is quite disappointing. Despite the establishment’s seemingly non-corporate, passionate approach to their business, it unfortunately detracts from Brighton’s culinary reputation, especially given its high rating of 4.4 stars. I have given this place a chance on two separate occasions, years apart, and with different companions; yet, none of us left feeling impressed. Perhaps a rebranding or shift in focus towards operating as a Mexican bar, maybe? Wish them the best, hope it improves.

The best mexican in Brighton? Yep I think so. A combination of great food, the tacos were sooo good, and great atmosphere already tick lots of boxes. But, it's great because of the people. Amazing, friendly, funny, warm staff made it for us. A place we want to go back to every night if we could!

Marvellous margs and tasty tacos in an intimate cinco de mayo setting. Carlito Burrito has been on my "must visit" list for a good while now. After 5 years of saying I want to go, when a friend and her friend came to visit, I knew it was time. Inside is a level of cool my home decor can only aspire too! Deep teals, a selection of skulls (real, wooden and decorated) and neon lighting adorn the walls. The seating is cushions and chairs If you've had substandard Mexican food (and sadly there plenty, and yes I'm looking at you large chain beginning with a W, I have yet to set foot in a bell of the taco variety), then you need ti visit here to get a taste of it done right. The banana blossom "fish" tacos were simply amazing. Generous portions of banana blossom woth just the right amount of slaw n sauce. The home made tortillas were pretty good too! My friends had very well enjoyed burritos, quesadillas, and beef tacos. Thr only complaint (from my child!) is that the beef tacos weren't spicy! However, it should be noted that this kid is a spice demon, so there probably is a little kick to it. I was particularly pleased to see not only good vegan options, but vegan options that didn't consist of an over processed meat substitution. It makes me think that the proprietor has really thought about the menu and the ingredients. The booze! Well, in my humble opinion chilli salt rims should be law on a margarita, but with mezcal and chilli liquor? Basically marg heaven. This is an all out, hands down recommendation for the Fire and Earth Margarita. Hibiscus soda, fresh lemonade with mint and a hibiscus marg also went down well with the rest of the party. Just a note for those of us with sensory processing challenges. Early on this, place is great, but as with many places, the more people are, the more different noises to process. The music and margs mean that this can get quite lively and intense. And absolutely no issues with the kid getting on with her activities or her questions on the food.

Read a previous review about the Life Changing Fish Taco and Chicken Chorizo Taco. So I ordered both. As someone who doesn’t like fish I can’t tell you how happy I was to find fish so delicious and out of this world. Do yourself a favour! The chicken chorizo tacos were equally delicious. And while you’re at it order a Classic Margarita with Ojo de Tigre Mezcal. OMG. DELISH. we are coming back for more. Tomorrow!!

THE best Mexican meal I have ever had! Owned and ran by a Mexican family - it’s simply wonderful food. So tasty - the flavours beautifully crafted in subtle layers. Outstanding presentation and attention to detail. We shared Nacho-Nacho Man to start, followed by Pulled Pork Taco and Succulent Beef Taco with a Halloumi side, rounded off by yummy Churros with chocolate dipping sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed the home made lemonade and would highly recommend EVERYTHING we ate. Our first visit, but it will not be the last.

This place is just excellent. Very small so great atmosphere, the staff are really friendly and good. The food is superb.

Really good mexican food and drink in Brighton. Had the fish taco, nachos, and margaritas and it was all outstanding. The waitress was fun and polite. The music was good but bit difficult to keep a conversation over as it was so loud so give 4 stars for the atmosphere

We struggled to find a dog friendly Mexican restaurant in Brighton. After 2 failed attempts, we went to Carlito Burrito. We were really lucky to get a table as it was very busy and many after us, did not. But I’m so glad we did. Everything was unbelievable. The service was great. I think their names were Chloe and Stephanie but they were amazing and so helpful with our dog. The food was also great but the real standout from the day was the cocktails. The margaritas were probably the best I’ve had in quite a long time.

Wonderful place and the sweet potato fries were amazing I’m not a hige fan of how the beans are all blitzed up and the wrap gets wet inside the foil Recommend asking for no foil to stop it steaming inside Great flavours and vegan options tho :) x

Came here with a couple of friends and really enjoyed our meals. The burritos, quesadillas and tacos are generous and the halloumi side is fantastic (and filling!) A great find. There was a small issue with service/waiting time but they dealt with it very well and compensated us for the long delay waiting for a dish.

Carlito Burrito is great! The food is delicious, the staff are great fun and the decor is fabulous in a "I don't know what's going on here, but I love it!" kinda way! I'll be back for sure!

Got a burrito from the market hall. Awful quality. Food that nobody making it cared about. Filled with water tinned tomatoes, some bland rice and halloumi that hadn't even been browned. Just terrible.

Definitely 5/5, upon arrival staff friendly and made us feel at home. Good range of food and drinks, vegetarian options were very tasty. I’ve ordered on Uber Eats and eaten in the restaurant and it’s just always so so so good. The tacos, burritos, nachos, all amazing easily my favourite in Brighton. I usually hate bananas in food and the tacos were amazing, the Halloumi burger is amazing and the Nacho Nacho man is great

Really tasty burritos - I ordered jackfruit which I normally don't really like but I enjoyed this one immensely. It is a little messy to eat! Our waitress was so friendly. We went for a late lunch and walked past at dinner time and it was packed. Really cool atmosphere.

I lived in Mexico City for ten years, and trust me when I say that these are the best and most authentic fish tacos I’ve had outside of the Motherland. Delicious.

In the last week we have eaten from Carlito Burrito twice. And loved it both times. The first time we ordered because we had a 50% off discount and I had low expectations because ordering from a restaurant is never as good as dining in. Plus, with the half off there’s no reason for them not to give us half good food. And oh my god the food was amazing!!! It was still hot, fresh, and the portions were huge. They had done a great job at packing it too. Not soggy at all. The nachos are loaded with guacamole, cheese and refried beans. The chicken quesadilla was packed with veg, cheese AND meat. We got a pork burrito as well. And I ordered the fish tacos for myself. Everything was scrumptious. Yesterday, my mum was visiting so I took her for dinner. The music is great, a bunch of pop and alt classics, mostly from the 90s/00s. The servers are super helpful and welcoming. We ordered: • Life Changing Fish Tacos: 9/10. I had to order these again. They were indeed life-changing. The fish was cooked perfectly, it was crispy but also fresh. Goes perfectly with the pickled cabbage and salsa macha. Would be even better with some avocado or red onions. • Chicken and Chorizo Tacos: 10/10. Huge chunks of chorizo with pulled chicken ik chipotle and tomato, basil aioli, salsa macha, pickled onions and avocado. Just amazing. • Tacos Cochinita Pibil: 10/10. Slow cooked pulled pork marinated in achiote, lime and orange juice, ancho chile and pickled onions. The flavours are so well balanced. You can taste the orange but it’s not too much. The pork is so juicy. Overall, wonderful atmosphere, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service is great. The only thing I wish they had is a specials menu so I could try something new once I’ve tried everything on the menu😅 I definitely recommend this place.

This place is something else! The food is absolutely incredible. So delicious and authentic. We've been back twice and will certainly be back again soon. Good gluten free options as well.

Tacos were some of the best I've had in the UK, I had the pulled pork and they were packed full of flavour, the only reason this wasn't a 5 star was the price, £13 for 2 tacos is very steep

Been trying to contact this establishment for months to enquire about catering a private event. The website says they do this and they even told us to contact them when we saw them at a pop-up event, but they don’t respond to emails, instagram messages or DMs. food must be good if they can afford to ignore customers

Ordered the buy one get one free chicken burritos via Uber Eats. Tasted delicious. However the next two days I was struck with food poisoning so bad I contemplated going to the hospital. Was definitely this place that caused it as those burritos were the only thing I ate that day.

ordered the chicken burrito..15 pound in total with guac and some salsa. one of the worst burritos I have ever had. Burrito 50% lettuce, it was not wrapped properly literally like a taco in foil lol and chicken was non-existent.

I was impressed by this place. Not only the waiting team was cheerful and eager to explain their food. I really liked the Michelada, probably the main reason why I went there in the first place. It was tasty and not too spicy, just right. I really recommend it. The Nachos are simply it! Generous portion with original taste, very well done and served at the right temperature. A delight! The burrito was good. I wanted to try the chorizo one but the waiter pointed out that in the heat it would have been a bit much. The chicken was tender and flavourful, teen rice was fresh together with the vegetables. Absolutely delicious. I will come back for sure, and you should try it too.

Good, authentic style Mexican tacos, burritos and enchiladas. Bustling, busy.

Home of the pork burrito of sadness and disappointment. This is the place to eat if you want to overpay for a burrito that is more lettuce than anything else. This is especially painful when you pay more than 15 quid for one with added guacamole. To be fair the tacos looked half decent.

Food was great but the service could do with an attitude adjustment. When we arrived we asked for a table of 2 and the man quite rudely said no when there were 5 tables ready to go outside. I suggested to sit outside and he kind of huffed and said ok. A crazy attitude to have for paying customers on a Sunday afternoon . Service was slow and we weren’t checked on at all during our visit. A shame since reading the reviews as some people have great impressions - maybe we got the wrong waiter ? Anyway - the three stars is for the food only. It was great and really flavourful. Would give the restaurant 5 * if it weren’t for the shoddy service. The lady who served our check was nice enough but clearly overworked trying to wait on almost all the tables at once.

Staff was great, also in love with the dog, and food was affordable, quick and tasty.

Had no plans for lunch but due to a delay in a meeting ended up here. Was greeted by a friendly Stephanie how seated us. I loveeee corn on the cob in a Mexican restaurant and exactly ordered that. Followed by Jackfruit burrito and mint lemonade. The spices on the corn…uff.. I can still taste it! The interiors are beautiful but what is even more beautiful is the hospitality. I love when people working at a restaurant genuinely feel for the food and place there and give a touching experience to the diners. Amazing food and amazing place! 100% recommended. We spent 40£ for a meal for two.

This used to be great. Now no not enough staff and those with a job have a real attitude. Food was OK but not made at the same time as my companion so not really a nice experience also had to ask for most things to be served . No dessert offered and no apology I'd avoid at the moment until it gets back to normal they didn't charge me for my burnt meal but they didn't appear in any way concerned about the business. Avoid

Carlito Burrito 🌯 convinced me for the name and for the atmosphere outside and inside! There was a nice service and the quality of the food was good even if I have to be honest I had better burritos than this one. Overall it was anyway a positive experience!

Really really brilliant authentic Mexican food. My partner and I come here almost every time we come to Brighton - it is criminally underrated. All staff are lovely and the food is banging (maybe the best nachos i’ve ever had) If it were in London it would have a queue out the door and down the street. Eat here!

When you come here you feel a warm welcoming feeling, but one thing you have to do is get the life changing fish taco and it has just the right amount of flavour!

Delicious food and drink. The "life changing" fish tacos are aptly named! Hibiscus margarita was also a highlight. Friendly and attentive staff, also a good laugh. Great decor.

Arrived on a Monday evening so was relatively quiet. We were greeted on arrival and shown to our table. Service was friendly and polite throughout. I chose Polpette Americano which is Spaghetti with pork and beef meatballs in a rich tomato, garlic and herb sauce with a hint of chilli and my wife chose Spezzatino di Manzo which is a slow cooked beef stew in red wine and herbs, served with creamy basil mash and roasted courgettes. Both dishes were well presented and tasted great. Overall we both really enjoyed.
