Absolutely fantastic service and the food was amazing! The waiter was incredibly helpful and funny. Would love to see again!

The food is good though I am not sure we made the best choice as we had noodles and rice! Very pleasant and friendly waiter. The only downside was that we had to wait quite a long time for our main course. As we were going to the theatre afterwards we did start to get a bit worried. We have been to this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. I asked for a downstairs table as it was very noisy and packed upstairs when we were seated there.

Absolutely delicious food & fantastic atmosphere. Perfect location for pre-show food if attending MAST or Mayflower. Highly recommend the Jungle VIP cocktail (we were there for Happy Hour), and the Cherry Pork. We chose 6 tapas dishes between 2 and that was ideal. Really reasonably priced, and friendly staff.

El 4 por 3 Tapas es excelente relación calidad-precio y perfecto para compartir. Si vas al Mayflower para un espectáculo, Mango Thai está a 5 minutos a pie y es un gran lugar para comenzar tu velada o tu mañana😊 Si te gusta el tailandés, te encantará el mango😀👍🏻

I ordered a tofu masaman curry for delivery and received a beef masaman curry. On phoning the restaurant they could not confirm if I would receive a replacement or a refund. I just won't eat tonight. THANKS!

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Mango Above Bar. The staff were friendly, attentive and kind. The food was sensational and the drinks were fab! I went for bottomless brunch with friends and it was well worth the visit! I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Had a fab pre-theatre dinner here last night. Probably the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand! Great service and lovely ambience too. Will come back next time I'm in Southampton for sure!

We arrived as a group of 9 and were shoved out the way upstairs. When we got to what I’d describe as a pokey little room, the decor was nowhere near of the standard that they had downstairs. The lighting was very bright, the room was like a furnace, it was extremely noisy and everyone was packed in like sardines. Not the restaurant experience we were hoping for! The service was prompt and quick, however members of our party were waiting for food a long time after the arrival of the first dishes. However, we allowed for this as our party size was fairly large. The food itself was disappointing. We sent the potato croquettes back as they were bland and tasteless. The pad Thai was flavoursome but oily, the pork was dry as a bone, the beef chilli was extremely salty, the money bags were tasteless and came with a dip that tasted like hand sanitizer. The worst thing of all was that the room was so hot that it felt uncomfortable eating! To add more to the misery, the bill came! We asked if they took blue light card and 2 members of staff said yes and that we could use two. For around 15 minutes, we worked out what everyone owed with the 15% off only then to be told they don’t take it on a Saturday! No apology and to be quite frank it was abrupt. Service charge definitely taken off now! We will not return. You had your chance to try and keep 9 returning customers but you’ve blown it! Blue Jasmine or Edo Asia next time!

Authentic, friendly, fun! Staff are class and the food is incredible. We had the squid and some curry’s and it’s by far the best Thai restaurants on the south coast!

Él siguió registrándonos e incluso contó cuántas maletas necesitaríamos para llevar! Traje nuestros pasteles de cumpleaños y velas al final. Era una joya absoluta. Jack era muy agradable, amable, divertido y servicial. Los 2 muchachos realmente nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos y son un crédito para su empresa. ¡Calma! ¡Y muchas gracias!

Bottomless brunch with the girlies! 100% recommend! Brooke and Jack were amazing and kept us topped up! (I blame them for the hangover! 🤣) Food was delicious, as were the cocktails, jungle juice actually tasted like umbongo juice from my childhood!

Great vegan options and friendly service

Food amazing as always! But I just wanted to make sure the closing time on a Saturday is at midnight? Just because we decided to go there for dinner because it was opened until that late according to the website, but we felt pushed to leave since 22.30 despite having food on the table and we ended up leaving at 23.00 when would have liked to stay for another drink. Thanks

Friendly service but can sometimes a bit slow. We asked for starters first as that was what we were offered but it all came at once which isn’t ideal. Food was 5⭐️ we ordered dim sum crispy beef pad Thai and penang which were all tasty but could have been hotter. Atmosphere was lively on a Saturday night- make sure to book and enjoy the 9pm onwards cocktails.

We had such a lovely and serendipitous evening at Mango. The food was exquisite and utterly tasty. Rin greeted us warmly at the door and Jack, who served us throughout the evening, was so lovely and friendly and gave us some great recommendations. The drinks were well thought out - the Jungle VIP with lychee and basil was amazing. Overall great evening out - made us want to travel to Thailand!

WE HAD A BRILLIANT TIME! We held our work Christmas do at Mango and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were so attentive and accommodating the entire time. Food was gorgeous and the cocktails were the best I've had in Southampton!! PLEASE order the Spicy Rose Margherita - she is one fun beverage! Anna, Brooke and Tam were just amazing and really joined in with our fun! They made an exception for a very excitable colleague bringing his guitar and spreading the Christmas joy with a spot of karaoke but they really got into the spirit with us. Absolutely loved hanging out with them!! Not my first time at mango and definitely not my last! Absolutely love it here. Ps... Get yourself booked in for bottomless brunch, the best in Southampton and very generous with amount of food and cocktails!

Food is a rip-off....Food barely had any meat at all in golden curry and pannang curry ( that cost about 15 pounds), tiny portions including the rice (almost 4pounds) .....me and my group were so disappointed with the portion sizes....Such a bad value for money! We felt like eating sauce with just a bit of rice....come on guys, just add some rice at least!!!! Don't be ridiculous! 😭 We all used to to love this place but for sure as the vibe was there but unfortunately we re not visiting again...also drinks were nothing special, too diluted in ice....

We had our works Christmas party here and cannot rate it higher. There was 50 of us in attendance and the food was cooked to a high standard, served hot with lots of choice. The staff on the evening were amazing. Can't wait to return!

Food is exceptionally well presented and taste amazing. They offer a wide variety of dishes suitable for varying diets. They cater well with people with food intolerances. We are a family where our food intolerances varying from gluten, dairy, eggs and grains, plus I’m a pescatarian. We usually eat here before going to the theatre.

The best cocktails in Southampton! Their menu is hosted throughout the year and they make their own infused drinks and syrups! The food is really great too, it is one of my favourite restaurants in town.

Must try the different Tapas. Coconut Chicken and Dimsums are my favourite.

Absolutely fantastic food, drinks & nice service! This was my first time here, I had the Pad Thai with tofu and it was so delicious, I will definitely need to come back. A real gem with nice interior and relaxed atmosphere. The fact that it is a small local business just makes it all even more enjoyable - keep going, this is great!

Absolutely 10/10 and I’m not saying that lightly, it was genuinely a 10/10. As a lover of Asian food this was incredible. I came here back in 2021 & I was so excited to come back recently. The chicken satay, spring rolls & rice was beautiful, fresh and full of flavour not to mention the cocktails were the best we’ve had in a long time. Can’t wait to come back again!

Such a delicious meal! We visited off a recommendation from a friend, and it surpassed our expectations! Would highly recommend the golden curry, coconut chicken, and crispy beef. We also took advantage of the 2 for 1 cocktails - their take on an espresso martini was excellent. We also loved our servers, Gus and Michael. Can’t wait to come back!

Fab experience, excellent service, friendly staff, food was super tasty and the cocktails a revelation (never had jalapeno in a cocktail!).

We are a family with varying food tolerances, gluten, dairy, eggs and grains, plus I’m a pescatarian so eating out is very difficult. We find independent restaurants/bars are better than the chains. We spent time discussing our options with the restaurant manager who was incredibly helpful. Service and food was amazing. I haven’t had Sea bass and steamed vegetables that tasty in a very long time. Portion size was good. The others had Chicken Pad Thai which was far better than the other chains we have eaten at. A great selection of drinks, the mock tails we had were very unique. We were so impressed that we plan to book her every time we come to the theatre. You won’t be disappointed.

Jack was an amazing host, was super patient as we were having a catch up and took ages to order. Was really attentive with one of my friends’ peanut allergies and we had an excellent night

Came in for lunch with some of my colleagues, didn’t book and Jack happily seated and served us! Incredible service, and just as incredible food! Was my first visit to both Mango and Southampton and would highly recommend!

Visited Mango Thai yesterday for a post matinee dinner. Made an online booking for 5pm requesting a quiet table, the restaurant was empty downstairs but the server put us next to the only table that was occupied. Four ladies having a very nice time, unfortunately getting louder and louder. Food was lovely as usual but cocktails weren't great.

My first time at mango above bar and i was very highly satisfied with the drinks but mostly the staff too, massive shoutout to Anna, jack & Christ… very welcoming. I will certainly be returning.

The food and service was amazing, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our only issue was that one of the tables was extremely loud but that can't be helped by the staff. But we will be back for the food and staff.

During our visit the restaurant was busy but not full (75%) despite at least 5 staff on the floor we had to ask a passing server for everything. Menus, drinks, to order etc etc. We did not have a drinks order taken until 20 minutes in and no food order taken after 45 minutes. Everytime we asked for something we almost seemed like an inconvenience to the servers. One staff member in particular was incredibly disrespectful and effectively dropped anything he brought to the table. Many tables in the restaurant had the same complaints.

A very busy Saturday evening, however service was top notch as always. A little loud, but not the restaurants fault (which is why still gave 5 stars) Food is exceptional, flavour and vibrancy. Had a prawn pad thai dish on friday night and developed stomach cramps within an hour of eating. Ive been in bed all weekend with food poisoning. Sunday night and still very ill. Will never eat there again. Service was great. Food terrible. Would not recommend.

We held a 21st birthday party at Mango Thai Tapas in Southampton and had the best evening. We were a large group of 22 and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We were able to decorate our area and the tables without any problems despite having many large balloons and table confetti. Greeted at the door by Beth who was so cheerful and helpful. We had a fabulous meal served with unfailing patience by Jack and Christ who took drinks orders and delivered our food with a smile on their faces…… they couldn’t do enough for us. Absolutely fabulous night. That you Mango Thai Tapas!

My mum and I had a lovely meal and drinks here before seeing a show at MAST Mayflower. We would highly recommend this place. Jack was brilliant and looked after us. He was attentive and funny, even though he was working by himself! The food was gorgeous, but the (alcoholic) cocktails were even better. Thank you Jack and Mango for a lovely evening.

We arrived for a pre-theatre meal, not having visited for a while. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was ok, although a bit noisy. The menu was a bit of a shock, everything seemed very expensive (compared to what it used to be) and a lot of favourite tapas were no longer on the menu. We ordered 2 tapas, two mains and a bottle of wine (£35). The wine was a lovely Picpoul de Pinet, at an ok price for a restaurant and chilled beautifully. The food arrived and we were disappointed. The tapas were half the size they used to be and nearly twice the price at £9.50 each. The stir fried chicken in the main was so overcooked it was dry and when the bill arrived at over £100, we vowed to never return. It’s just not worth that much money. If the tapas portion sizes hadn’t been reduced so much and the food had been excellent then it would have been ok. Unfortunately we were let down by the food. I did mention this to the server who said he’d let the kitchen know, but that was it. Would I recommend this place in its current state, no. Please, sort out the menu, portions and food quality and we might come back but at this rate you will lose a lot of customers.

Have been a Mango fan for years, but was dissapointed with this visit as the menu has significantly reduced, especially the vegan options. It was a shame to see the tapas selection take a hit, as that's normally the big attraction for Mango. The service wasn't great either, no fault of the staff, they were lovely, there just wasn't enough of them on shift which meant we ended up waiting half an hour just to get served a drink.

The food was over cooked and not great. This is a real shame because Mango has always been one of my favourites in Southampton. They did take off some money for us when we sent some food back but did not give us another plate.

Myself and 7 friends went fir a Brunch at Mangos on Saturday August 17th. We are brunch enthusiasts and I'm serious when I say this is the best one we've ever had! It was 2 hours long for a start when most places have cut the time to 1.5 hours. The drinks choice was brilliant, prosecco free flowing and a choice of cocktails and we never had to chase for any! Prosecco also by the bottle not glass. Food was fabulous with bottemless thai crackers, either 2 tapas dishes each or 1 tapas 1 curry for a 3.00 upgrade. A special mention goes out to Beth who looked after us so well again the best waitress on a brunch we've had EVER! Thank you Mango we will definately return and I'm sure you will see a few people I've recomended you to also.

3rd visit here, has it changed hands? Thai fishcakes were very small and oily. Red Thai curry was very bland. I mentioned this and they gave me some dried chili flakes to add to it, which did little. At other places if I wanted more spice, they have given me fresh chili in fish sauce/lime. Seems to me they have cut down on ingredients to keep the price down, which isnt good if you want to have a flavoursome Thai meal......2nd visit here. Veg tempura and dipping sauce, then penang curry & rice. Faultless this time. 1st visit. I had tapas dishes as I like a variety. I ordered crispy squid (but was given beef by mistake, but it was good), veg dumplings (v good), spare ribs and roti & satay sauce dip. The roti was a bit greasy and could have done with more sauce dip. 2 ciders pushed the bill to £42, inc 12% service charge.

Delicious food and everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and relaxed. The music was a little loud though!

Post graduation ceremony meal with family. Excellent cocktails on 2 for 1 offer. We have a mix of tapas and main courses. Super quick, friendly service and delicious food. We had just been on holiday to Thailand and food was definitely authentic! Would definitely return if we were in the city again.

The staff was so friendly, the atmosphere was wonderful for dates. I went with my partner and we enjoyed every moment it's not to pricey either and the food was delicious. I recommend with the highest praise. Well done guys keep doing what your doing. Thumbs up from me

Food has great taste but very expensive, will probably visit again at some point. We had only total of 8 starters that was in their offer of 4 for 3. No alcoholic drinks only water. Or bill end up being 100£ for two people. In my opinion way too much for lunch.
