New food menu is fantastic, great quality

It’s our local pub, we recently tried the food and it was delicious. Staff are always friendly and the vibe is good.

We had an after Christening celebration at the Venture and the team, the food and the service were all excellent!

Update, I recently attended the Venture in and I was very impressed with the new menu. Great variety to choose from. We had the Biltong chips and Bunny chow. They were both very well presented and tasted amazing. Will be going back to try the ribs soon. Price was reasonable as well. Service was friendly and welcoming. See you again soon.

Food is great, and the service is fantastic, but the noise...! I'm not a fan of noisey pubs, I was reliably informed this wasn't. My mum always said to me, "If in a foreign pub.. pack your ear plugs, a warning that I didn't listen to 😂

We dropped in last night for a couple of pints of Guinness - great! John, who runs the place, knows his stuff! We arrived too late for food, but I hear that the ribs are legendary

Stated on the doors that the place was open until 23:30. However the jumped up Barman decided that he would lie and last orders were at 22:40. Suspiciously 5 mins after we arrived…Awful place, would not recommend it to my worst enemy

Food is okay, but good for a beer and to watch sports. It's often quiet though.

Not anywhere as good as previous visits. Limited choice of draft beer and the Harvey’s was over £5 a pint and I doubt that I received full pints. Tapas Octopus £9:50 very little octopus but burnt garlic. King prawns £9:25 tough prawns with no flavour Not a pleasant experience.

Eaten here twice and tapas is good. Score of 3 due to numerous attempts on different occasions trying to book a table on phone and email with no response. We turned up this evening after leaving a message asking for a table of 4 at 6.30. No idea rugby was on and obvious nowhere to sit so went hunting elsewhere!

Great little pub, it was heaving in there with the six nations on, got served by excellent bar staff very quickly and found a good place to stand and drink. Would have been happy to stay all night.

My favourite pub in Reigate, warm staff, great selection of whatever you like to drink and tasty evolving menus. A real air-conditioned treat with loads of space for groups, I've had several parties and work events here and Ive always been impressed. Perfect for watching cricket, football, rugby and whatever else you fancy. Great beer, impressive cocktails and a general good time. Firm but Fair.

I came in to have dinner with my girlfriend and try that new Venezuelan menu seen online. The food was amazing really enjoyed the starters and the mains, I don't know what they put inside those tequenos, but they were heavenly. The meat was tender and full of flavour. We ordered a couple of starters and some mains and I have to say everything was delicious. Definitely recommend trying! The chef was super friendly which made the whole experience even better. However, I feel like they could have advertised better and provided menus on tables since I wouldn't have found that amazing food if we didn't know beforehand.

Visited on Friday night with my partner and had a really lovely evening. It’s our local pub which we rarely come to but we will make the effort to come more often. The food was really nice off a great varied menu. The staff are really nice and the place was packed. Keep up the good effort!

We went to watch the football and enjoy a drink. New menu with Venezuelan food. Ordered the burger expecting a big standard but it was anything but! and it was honestly the best burger I have ever eaten. Squashy fresh brioche bun, crispy burger with soft middle. I don’t know what they put in it but there was a sauce and chopped herbs or something but it was delicious. The Venezuelan menu looked lovely and if any of it was as good as the fresh burger then I’d highly recommend. Mixture of tapas, fajita style food and Venezuelan dishes that all sounded interested and mouth watering. Highly recommend trying!

Service was really good, drink orders done quickly... However, the food was on the slow side, not sure why because hardly any tables were full, even when we left. I got chicken burger and the bun was dry not toasted, definitely had been served left over chips (reheated) as all different colours and oily. My friend had Ceaser salad... Sauce was just mayo, not dressing! Couldn't see any anchovies or he didn't taste them! Chef needs to learn how to slice lettuce properly, I personally don't like chunks of lettuce in my burger or salad. Overall, I wouldn't return. Service was really good, just the food slacked and didn't wow me considering it's quite expensive!

Food is maily Spanish tapas, which is very nice. I have been a few times over the years and staff have always been friendly. Good selection of wines and all the usual drinks you'd expect. Decor is nice. Small critic is the table wasn't wiped clean. Would recommend for anyone passing by.

Quaint little pub to watch sport

Allows small children but no dogs. Used to allow dogs but children not allowed. Food is very good but clearly trying hard to be a restaurant as well as a pub to boost their revenue, to the detriment of the drinking experience. Neuroticism about showing sport in the restaurant area makes the "drinking section" annoyingly cramped during big games. Used to be a quality sports bar but now trying to capitalise on the mums and kids market to the extent it's become so obvious.

First time I've been here for a few years and it was a real disappointment. Clearly spent some money on it but a miserable barman and less than average food means I can't see myself returning. Real shame as this place has always had potential

We went to have tapas to this pub, food is not from Spain. Padron peppers are from morroco like the octopus. Chef have minimum knowledge about higiene. Avoid if you going with children

Wow. A modern fit out but with a traditional pub atmosphere and warmth. There's lost of guest ales and the tapas menu is very well priced. They only need a small area for dogs to make it tip top.

Okay, so I understand that football was on, yet how utterly disappointing. The bar was clearly under staffed as we where ignored a lot of the time, however, we did manage to get some food, and it was okay, even pleasant.. but in reality, very overpriced and very small! It’s an okay place, just don’t expect anything special..

Good pub with a nice selection of ales. Mainly reviewing about the food - I used to come here on a fairly regular basis for a Friday lunch with workmates, and really enjoyed the move to Spanish food some time ago. We really rated the mixto sandwich - basically a three layered ham and cheese toasted sandwich with a fried egg on top with chips and salad - tasty, very filling and good value for money. However, over time the standard has dropped, replacing the bread, ham and cheese for cheap alternatives with fewer chips and salad. The last time I came, half the bread wasn't even toasted. Not what it once was, and we no longer have the same incentive to walk out of the centre of Reigate when there are other options much closer. That said, the tapas is generally really nice and something different!

Early evening chance stop, decent larger but the bitters were a bit ropey. The food was excellent, prawns, squid, potato, meat balls and a first for me, elvers, absolutely delicious. We are planning on taking some friends along soon and will probably just tell them to bring everything on the tapas menu, really could eat the lot.

I’m unsure which star rating to give our evening at the Venture. I’d booked a table for five on a Friday night and we were greeted warmly. We were pleasantly surprised when a lovely bubbly waitress came over to ask what we’d like to drink (we’d assumed it would be bar service) and consequently enjoyed some delicious gin and tonics from their decent selection (they had run out of some on the gin menu). In a bit ordered a range of tapas and a paella, and more gins. Half of the dishes were lovely and the other half not. The paella in particular was nearly inedible and the tortilla dry and chewy. It was really disappointing as some of the flavours were great! The patatas bravas were crispy and fresh, gambas nice and garlicy and chorizo in cider tasty. Our waitress however continued to be 5* and ensured that we had a great time and would return (just avoid certain menu items).

We loved this place so much we visited it twice in one day. The staff were absolutely brilliant here, they were friendly and efficient. We loved everything from the decor to the food. The tapas really are delicious. I look forward to returning, I just wish I’d discovered it sooner

First time here, went for pre cinema tapas, the food was delicious a great selection of tapas, had 6 dishes and they were all cooked well and very tasty, the wine was perfect and all staff were very friendly and helpful, the service was quick, we will definitely come back.

Great atmosphere watching the football

Myself and my boyfriend have eaten Tapas here a number of times and absolutely loved it, so much so we both raved about it to other people and I was suggesting it for a work night out. Unfortunately our last visit did not live up to the previous high standard and quality of tapas food we had come to expect... The Octopus was an absolute favourite of ours and even at £12 a plate we still thought it was well worth it. I can't stress how wrong we were this last visit! The "plate full" of Octopus was actually 6 small slices served on top of greasy sliced potato. Not only had the portion size reduced but the actual taste of the dish was nowhere near the standards previously. Unfortunately the other 5 dishes, including meatballs, ribs, asparagus and chicken we'd ordered all proved to dissappoint us even further. The portions were small, the theme of greasy potatoes ran through the whole meal and the previously smokey and delicious sauces and seasoning were now extremely bland and lacking. The only dish we enjoyed was the side salad that we'd asked for despite it not being on the menu. The "side" salad was a bowl full and was really needed and appreciated to cut through the grease of the other dishes! We cancelled the last dish we were still waiting for and gave our feedback to the waitress who proceeded to explain the feedback was appreciated and would we take the time to fill in a feedback form. We gladly agreed as thought it was valuable feedback as we'd really loved the food so much before the obvious change in chef that we hoped it might be taken on board and something done to improve the standards again. I left my phone number and email address hoping we would hear something back.... I've waited 2 weeks before leaving this review... ..still no contact from The Venture to apologise or even acknowledged our comments. So so dissappointed - this used to be one of our favourites but unlikely to return now. I've made sure everyone I recommended it to previous has been told the food quality and standard has dropped and I certainly don't feel it is value for money anymore with the Octopus being massively overpriced for what you actually get served.

There isn’t anything fundamentally wrong with this bar - it just has no mojo. Husband and I were sitting on the sofas trying to work out why last night it just doesn’t seem to provide a great experience. All we could come up with was the decor being a bit on the cheap side, the shape of the bar area (long and thin bit more welcoming that the main room area where widens out), and also the lack of windows in the main room. One thing that I particularly didn’t like was a Stella and Dot jewellery sale going on. Why????? This is a pub not a pop up shopping arcade. Have never seen this before so am hoping a one off. We keep going in to the Venture due to its location on the way home from town. Not somewhere I would ever suggest being a destination though due to the above.

I must have bought the wrong thing here because everyone is raving about the tapas and I went for a black pudding burger with skin on fries and coleslaw. Ok... it was alright but pretty bland.. I couldn't taste the black pudding but I could see it. Also couldn't taste any aleoli. It looks nice.. And I expected it to be nicer... but I didn't like the oil that the chips were done in and overall I thought it was just kinda greasy. The beer in there was ok but served to me warm. Second one was fine. All in all will I be back? Probably not... nigh on twelve quid for a burger is way too much.
