Tapa Tapas in Rother

the staff were friendly and very helpful and the food was really good. We had sugar snap peas whilst we were waiting for our tapas, five for £25. I haven't ever seen them in other restaurants and decided to try them; great decision, they were really tasty. the 5 tapas were also really tasty; a selection of meat, fish and vegetarian options to mix and match. We had 5 between two of us and there was more than enough. My favourite was the whitebait, so soft and succulent; and the ribs, also tender and delicious, in fact all or it! They also do churros for dessert, among other things, but we were too full up so we'll have to go back! They also had a live guitarist who was really good and not too intrusive. Hope this place gets plenty of christmas party bookings this December, they deserve to do well.

The food was outstanding and tasted delicious!! And the cocktails were tasted delicious, the staff were so nice and polite. Food portions were good. Will definitely be attending again!!!

This place used to be quite nice when it was open before but now the food is awful. Poor presentation - shredded iceberg and red cabbage is fine in a burger but looked awful in a heap next to the ribs and other dishes! The sauce on the ribs is vile and is just poured over the top not cooked on it! The garlic mushrooms didn't seem to have any garlic in and the garlic butter wasn't butter but cheap spread and that seemed to lack garlic too!!! The zucchini fries would of been nice and crispy if they hadn't been piled on top of again shredded iceberg which made them soggy underneath!!! Chorizo tasted okay but was cooked in cider and just isn't the same as being cooked in red wine!! The chicken skewers were so bland and tasteless!!! It's such a shame and was a big let down!!

We had a 50th birthday meal with the family and I can not fault this restaurant. The staff were brilliant and the food was amazing. Really good portions and good value for money. I would highly recommend Tapa Tapas for family gatherings or even a cosy meal for two.

Amazing food ! So glad it turned back into a Tapas bar. Always order too much food as it's so tasty and very reasonably priced. Love the spanish music whilst you eat. My favourite restaurant.

This is not a tapas restaurant. Very bad cocktails possibly just juice and wrong spirits used we complained and was advised this will be taken off the bill. When our bill arrived the cocktail was still on there and the owner or manager was rude and aggressive and throw the refund/change at us. Totally unacceptable. We also saw him eat food from a plate that was on the bypass due to go out to a customer. The filo pastry was supposed to have spinach but these are clearly frozen as no spinach and some were frozen in the middle. I don't usually write reviews but I highly recommend you do not go to this restaurant if you want real tapas a decent food.

Bad food and even worse cocktails!!! The food all came straight out of the freezer with one of our things still being frozen in the middle. We ordered a margarita which had to be sent back as was the complete wrong alcohol/flavour - everything was just really cheap and low quality- I would avoid at all costs the manager was rude and had the hump when we waited for our change as he wanted us to pay for the margarita! It didn’t even smell nice in the restaurant. Don’t waste your money!!!!

What a place to visit for a spur of the moment meal. A very friendly welcome. 3 dishes for £15 was a decent bargain. The aubergine, whitebait and calamari were to die for. Cooked really well. Definitely returning here.

We ventured in as outside looks bright and inviting. Restaurant offers deals on beer and cocktails for early dinners. Monday to Thursday has an offer of 3 Tapas for £15 or 5 for £25 and this represents great value. Food quality was good and plentiful. Waiting staff a real plus, attentive and provided finger bowl and extra napkins without being asked, really useful for the BBQ ribs. We will be visiting again very soon

I cannot actually complain the food was bad, its just no different to what you could cook at home. Its just unremarkable and very ordinary. It was much better in the past but its clearly changed names for Olive & Coal BACK to Tapa Tapas but NOT kept the same level of food. Staff were friendly upbeat and helpful, the place is nice enough, although the outside seating is horrible, its just seats plonked on the pavement! Needs some greenery around it or something to make it feel more private. I won't go back and its a shame as it has the location and setting to be good, but food levels have gone up in Bexhill but they are quite far behind. It was impromptu event on a Saturday night, everywhere else was fully booked except here, and now I know why! Just needs to upscale the food and they will do great.

I have eaten extensively in Tapas Bars around the world and this place's limited offerings bear only a passing nod to any similarity to Spanish food. Bland and tasteless. The staff however were excellent

Wow - what's not to like here! The welcome at Tapa Tapas was very warm. Once settled with drinks our group of six picked a dozen or so dishes, including prawns, calamari, meatballs and paella. All of these dishes were sublime such that we had to squeeze in a few more delicious prawns after! The pride taken by the staff in what they're offering is impressive and adds to the value of dining here. Highly recommended :-)

The extremely limited menu (as far as tapas are concerned) was difficult to choose from. In my extensive experience of tapas bars, the food that was served us only had a nodding acquaintance with anything authentically Spanish. For the most part it was dry, bland and mostly tasteless. The almost ubiquitous house salsa was merely a red gloop splodged on top of various dishes. Once we added some salt and pepper at least we got something with a bit of taste. No, we shall not return, despite the friendliness and efficiency of the staff

Wow I love this place. The paella is delicious and seasoned to perfection. There are so many things on the menu, too many for 1 sitting. The cocktails are lovely and on a great deal. Molly made me a lovely fruity mocktail as I was driving so I didn't feel left out. Tony and Pavalli are great and made me feel very welcome. I will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family and can't wait to come back.

We came back to tapas tapas after two years and were pleasantly surprised, the food was still just as tasty as ever, and the service was great. We were served by a girl called mollie who was super chatty and friendly, and gave us good advice on what to order next time, we really didn’t order enough haha! Would highly recommend, food and service 5*!
