Returned here after a great meal last time. We were allocated the downstairs dog friendly room. Not a problem for us as we’ve had dogs for years. But I do object to other diners having their dog on the seat and feeding it. This room is very small with a corrugated ceiling nd it felt like being in a cluttered shed. 3 of the dishes we had were excellent. We also had the gambas pil pil, which were cooked in oil, lacked seasoning and had no taste whatsoever. The patatas bravas were ok but the bravas sauce was bland with little heat. We gave our comments to the waitress who immediately took these dishes off the bill. Excellent customer service. A large glass of house wine was £9.25 which I consider over the top. So good and bad points. Would we go back for a 3rd time? We doubt it.

Went here on the night of reopening… food was amazing, staff were just as amazing and the atmosphere was so relaxing! Just what was needed at the end of a stressful working week. How anyone would want to screw this lovely family over I will never know but please, everyone, get over there & see for yourself why I’m using my evening to leave a review - you won’t be disappointed! Thanks Sol Tapas, we will be returning!!

Definitivamente volveremos. Tengo que probar los hígados de pollo 😋😋

Came here for an evening out just the 2 of us. Booked last minute but got a table for 2 ok. The restaurant was busy with a large party but our order of tapas came out in good time. Every dish was delicious and tasty. Have been a few times before but not recently. The food didn’t disappoint we will be back.

Lovely restaurant , busy but not frantic. Visited tonight Friday, very allergy aware, I’m coeliac so need gluten free options, followed the QR code, plenty of choices. Waiter very knowledgeable and friendly. Yes the service charge is included 12.5% stated very clearly on menu as is the wifi code. All dishes were so tasty, 4 of us and we shared patatas bravas, hispi cabbage, butternut squash all gluten free. I had the beef short rib …gorgeous, melt in the mouth. Others had the meatballs, jam on croqutas and cauliflower. Can’t wait to revisit!

It’s not often I’m stuck for words! We walked in and had the most beautiful welcome ever from the girl with the blonde curly hair. I could instantly tell the food was going to be good, you can just tell sometimes. The atmosphere was unreal. The food was a taste sensation. Please please go here. If you like food, tapas, sangria to die for then go here. Absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to come back ! Love Libby xxx

I have enjoyed visiting this bar, with it’s great selection of ales, several times on visits to Chester in recent years. I was looking forward to doing so again on my visit this week, indeed I had planned to spend most of an evening there, before and after a South Indian meal at the delightful Coconut Grove across the road. I was therefore disappointed, if not disgusted, to be turned away from the Cellar Bar, early in the evening, because it was shut for an (apparently regular) private session for the landlord’s friends. Although it has bars on two levels, neither was available to we lesser mortals and I was not allowed a drink. I fully understand that it is a publican’s prerogative to decide when he opens and who he serves, but in my seventy something sober years I have never been treated in such an off hand and insulting manner by someone who has been happy enough to accept my custom and my money in the past. All was not lost! There is an entirely pleasant and comfortable pub across the road, with an interesting, if less expansive, selection of ales and a polite and helpful barman, who I was glad to visit both before and after my meal. His hostelry can be assured of my future custom when in Chester, with no need for me to darken the doors of the up itself Cellar Bar again!

Delicious freshly cooked food and great service. Walked in on Saturday evening and managed to get a table. Check out the reservations on the website as they do two sittings - 6pm and 8pm. Highlights for us were the cod fritters and gambas. All staff were lovely and gave great advice regarding the dishes - 7-9 between the 3 of us was perfect. Ambiance, music and setting of the restaurant were all ideal. Would love to return to this restaurant when next in Broadstairs.
