Superb fine dining experience…Michelin level food and presentation but I’d guess at half the price you would normally pay for that. The restaurant itself is one of the prettiest I’ve been in.Only seats 16 people. They serve a 4 course set lunch now(no choice) seafood dominating, quite rightly.Must be booked ahead and only served Wed, Thurs, Fridays. Each course was introduced by the chef, Carla, a woman clearly passionate about food and where it comes from (mostly Mull, herbs grown in the garden including many I’d never heard of.)Very interesting indeed to hear her influences and background, a talented lady. Everyone eats at the same time - there were 4 couples the day we were there. I photographed the menu as there was so much to each dish and often ingredients I’d never heard of with a Far Eastern /East African focus. That said, nothing tasted bizarre, flavours melded very well.In fact if anything, I might have liked slightly stronger flavours (eg the garlic dressing didn’t really have much of a garlic taste.Didn’t quite catch the smoked lobster element of the main course though lobster itself was beautiful.) The beef, crab and lobster components were wonderful in themselves.Top notch.I’m not a Dim Sum fan but the little dumpling served as part of the main course was exquisite. We were given a short tour of the herb garden after lunch which was very interesting. Fantastic dining experience - quite unique I’d say - and lovely service from our Sicilian waitress.

Just home from an evening at the Kilberry Restaurant, very friendly welcome from David and great service from the young man who waited on our table. It’s probably been said in previous reviews so I can only add to them by saying the food is sensational in a warm cosy environment. Can’t wait to return.

Wonderful dinner in this small local restaurant. The food is absolutely gorgeous. We started with Cullen skink, the best I have had! I had sea bream for my main course; incredibly fresh and well cooked, and my husband had venison which was stunning. No room for dessert as the portion sizes are HUGE! This fab place is dog friendly and it’s also BYO (only £3 corkage). You must try if you’re in the area, and definitely book ahead, I get the impression that such a quality restaurant as this is always full!

This is a new addition to the eating options in Tobermory - and will completely put it on the map as not only’ vaut le detour’, Michelin style, but as a destination in its own right . I had the tasting menu, my partner the a la carte ( so first, no nonsense about the whole table has to have the tasting menu)- the venue is bright, the welcome warm and informative, and the food - some of the best I’ve ever had. The langoustine and halibut courses were absolutely delicious whilst the scallops - with fennel oil and white chocolate sauce, amongst other flavours- the best I’ve ever had. Totally brilliant. Sauces for all the meat and fish , absolutely imaginative, some unusual, and worked! Wine choices delicious, atmosphere ‘ local’- tables talking to each other! ‘ and welcoming - ‘ walk ins’ were warmly greeted. All in all - an experience. And again - the food - superb. I didn’t take any photos but someone will….. we’ll done, and I wish you all the success you strongly deserve!

A real find - fine dining experience in Mull. Each course of the tasting menu exquisite. Each paired wine spot on. Our hosts explained each dish & wine. Inventive use of local products beautifully combined to give great textures & flavours. The crystal pastry starter looked magical. The accompanying oyster sorbet in a cone refreshing. Duck perfectly cooked maintaining a little pinkness in the centre & the berry jus great. The dessert a wonderful combination of sweet & sour.I'd go every week if I lived on Mull.

OMG!! We popped in for a quick lunch while visiting Crail only to discover a hidden gem of a restaurant. The food was 5 star and the service was excellent. If you are in the area plan to stop by and enjoy an amazing meal. Highly recommend!

My partner, liz and I booked a table for Friday 11th October. My birthday. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. The service from them was excellent. They were very polite and talkative. Liz had venison, I had steak. Delicious. When we were having our dessert the waitress brought mine out with a candle and happy birthday written on my plate in chocolate. I was surprised and very pleased that they did this. A very nice evening having dinner. So much, we booked for the Saturday night too. I had blade of Aberdeen angus. Liz had spiced cauliflower croquettes. We can't fault the food, staff or venue. Superb..... The food was very well presented and tasted great. It was a fantastic experience going there. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back when in oban again. Thank you for two wonderful experiences Robert & Liz Forteviot

Fabulous meal in The Dory Bistro this evening. Food absolutely outstanding as was the ambience in the restaurant and the people who take a pride in the food they serve. The Dory aperitif is definitely recommended. I had the halibut to start and my husband had the clams. I had monkfish for mains and he had the cod. All incredible - in presentation and quality. A lovely glass of wine to accompany my food - the driver had water. Good coffee to finish. Overall, cannot recommend this place enough and excellent value for money for the quality of the food and service.
