Directly next to the Crail harbour, you could choose lobsters or crabs cooked at the time. They don’t sell beer or wine but you can get them in nearby shops as well. Super!

We bought a large dressed crab at Reilly's Lobster Hut for £6.50 to take home for our lunch-perfect!

Highly recommend this if you visit the east neuk. We ordered 5 Lobsters, collected them and were freshly cooked and ready to eat. We took them away to eat at our holiday home. You can also eat them with the lovely view of Crail. Fresh lobsters at a great price.

Open during the summer months for lovely fresh seafood..!! We had great lobster rolls and couldn't fault them!

Fun time! Our caddie Doug from Kingsbarn Golf Links told us about it and actually we followed him to the place. You pick out your lobster which was caught that morning and then they boil it and serve it in about 20 minutes! they are open from noon to 4 pm each day.

Prendi il tuo pranzo (aragosta o granchio, entrambi a prezzi irrisori) e ti siedi su una delle panche allestite sul molo. Uno dei ricordi più belli che mi porto dietro dalla Scozia...PS consultate la pagina facebook per verificare giorni e orari di apertura!

A great place to buy fresh lobster and crab. The lobster is prepared for you while you wait whilst the crab is dressed and in the shell - fabulous with brown bread and butter and a glass of cold white wine!

Returned to the Lobster Hut to buy half a lobster but it was not available. We were able to buy lobster filled rolls with a sauce at £5 each. Very filling! Bench nearby to eat and admire view. Kind tourist took our photo for a party of four. Plenty free parking nearby. Either a walk around village or along beach recommended. There is also a small museum with helpfull volunteers.

Shared a lobster at the hut with my wife and mother. The weather was great which made the experience all the more enjoyable. You won't get lobster any fresher than this. Great surroundings for al fresco dining. Enjoy!

Bought crab and lobster to eat after a round of golf. 5 star, natural, tasty food cooked to perfection and served with genuine thought. This place is a hidden gem, or it was & if you are in the area it would be crazy to miss it, pop up to the Coop and buy a good white, sit out enjoying the harbour and you will have the best plastic fork meal to be had for miles around.

Chance find and so glad we did. They even allow use of their own glasses if you wish to purchase beers etc at the local store as they can only sell soft drinks. Be quick as it sells out and you don't want to miss out!

Venus un lundi (où cette cabane est fermée), nous sommes revenus le lendemain, sous le soleil pour profiter des homards, directement du "producteur" au consommateur...les prix vont de 11 à 16 GBP selon la taille, il y a aussi des crabes et des sandwichs divers (base crabe et homard s'entend). Quelques tables disponibles sur le port pour profiter de ce moment de vie, bien agréable il faut dire...

Posto caratteristico, noi ci siamo stati grazie alla guida e alle recensioni positive. Lo consiglio a chi vuol fare un pranzo o uno spuntino alternativo a base di astice o granchio!

The fresh lobster is really good and the flavor is very good but I gave 2 point for two reasons:- the lobster were served cold- the seagulls really disturbed us!The poop fly near us when we was eating,with the risk that come in my plate or in my head.Really disgusting.We eat really fast for change immediately place.Use the big umbrella if you go in this place or use the table near the shop.

Every time I visit Fife I make sure to visit this simple Lobster Hut in Crail. It has excellent lobster and crab either served fresh or in a roll. Cheap prices and great view sitting on the harbour (if the weather cooperates :)

Tener nunca había Langosta o cangrejo antes pensamos que debería darle una oportunidad, habiendo tenido que recomendado por varias personas.Mientras que la langosta era lo suficientemente agradable encontramos el cuerpo principal del poco un poco duro para nuestro gusto y no había mucho de carne en general, por el precio. Parece un montón de problemas y los costes de una pequeña recompensa, no creo que sea un concierto de langosta.El cangrejo rollo compartimos sin embargo era preciosa, bien llenos y muy sabroso. Me hubiera otra, buena relación calidad-precio.Poco molestos con la langosta, pero supongo que no es para todo el mundo.

Para comer langosta a muy buen precio. Es para llevar o para comer en mesas al aire libre. 40 € dos langostas medianas y un buey de mar.

What else can we say? Lobster rolls for a fiver - well packed with meat and sauce. Pity the rolls were a bit 'bought from the newsagents' but they were pleasant enough!

I wanted my kids to experience fresh seafood without the hassle of pricey posh restaurants or having to cook it myself. This is perfect, the kids loved seeing the live lobsters and tucked into reasonably priced lovely seafood that we ate sat at a picnic bench admiring the harbour, boats and stacks of lobster pots, all of which added to the experience.

Well known the world over tourists make a beeline for the hut when it is open I saw a party of French tourists at a picnic bench with the remains of 3 lobsters . they were extolling the virtues of them and could not understand why our fishing villages did not take advantage of the fruits of the sea . In France every little village by the sea has something like this . Open usually between 12.00am and 4.00pm they sell out fast

No se puede superar, especialmente ya que el entorno es el hermoso puerto de Crail en el pintoresco Este Neil de Fife. Hemos comido langosta fresca de su cocinado sentado en la playa al lado del puerto y es la mejor langosta jamás gusto.

Fantastico chiosco nel piccolissimo e grazioso porto di Crail, uno dei paesini di pescatori dell'East Neuk (Fife). Una baracchetta addossata ad una vecchia casa, con una vasca piena di astici blu ed una semplicissima cucina invasa da nuvole di vapore. Si mangia sui tavolini all'aperto del porto, in maniera assolutamente informale e spartana. Ma si mangia alla grande: granchio ed astici freschissimi in varie maniere. IL ragazzo poi è simpatico solo a guardarlo. Da non perdere.

the 'season' now seems to be over. Just like the board outside the Anstruther office with its boat trips to the Isle of May--- Next trip "April 2017", When we went for a celebratory lobster on October 6th, we found all the notices taken down, and locals were fairly sure that it's next year before it will be open again. BUT--- we had managed some of their amazing lobster rolls the previous weekend and can assure you that the 5 star rating is more than justified.. [small children would have been entranced by the sight of lobsters wandering round the tank outside the shack--- as long as they didn't question how long they'd be in there before they met their inevitable fate].Whole lobster, dressed crab, or soft white roll, filled to overflowing with lumps of soft lobster flesh in a scrummy mayonnaise-- tables around on the harbour side, lots of more than contented eaters..

If you didn't know better, you could almost miss this wonderful place.Nestled in a corner, right on the beautiful Crail harbour, the Lobster Hut sells freshly caught sand cooked lobster and crab! We are not big lobster fans ( my wife takes the view that they should be allowed to live out their long lives), so havn't tried them here, but, thankfully, she does not feel likewise regarding crabs! The Lobster Hut's dressed crabs are simply wonderful, either to eat there, or to take home to become part of dinner. They are also incredibly good value for money.Don't miss this wee shed!

You can't beat the Lobster Hut for freshly cooked crab and lobster, all caught locally and cooked to perfection. We had two dressed crabs which we took home and enjoyed with salad and rolls. The crab meat is so tasty and beats anything that you can buy in a resteraunt. Fresh is best!

La Choza de langosta es sólo eso, un poco de madera cobertizo que sirve de cangrejos y langostas recién preparado, que se puede llevar o comer, sentados alrededor de la pared del puerto. Visitamos durante una ola de calor, así que 2º sábado del puerto hizo sentir como un perenne Crail ubicación.Crail es muy bonita, con carriles empinada conduce al puerto, hay una pequeña playa de arena que estaba muy limpio.

Nos alojábamos en Crail para unas vacaciones de una semana (en la casa de campo para vacaciones más preciosas, Hendersons) y una de las cosas en nuestra "Lista" era para probar la Langosta Hut. Estoy tan contenta de haberlo hecho, era delicioso. La cabaña es simplemente eso, una cabaña de madera con un mostrador. Las langostas están en el tanque de piedra junto a ella, la felizmente (?) alrededor y el tío que nos servía no podría haber sido más servicial. Un tamaño completo, cocinados y preparados de langosta era de £11 y también tuvimos un cangrejo vestido que estaba recién £4. Decidimos tomar ellos volver a nuestra casa de vacaciones, ya que era bastante un día frío, donde les devoraba con pan y mantequilla marrón para el almuerzo. Eran muy sabroso y mucho, mucho mejor que la tienda compramos pequeños. Si el clima hubiera sido más cálidos, hubiera sido estupendo que he sentado en uno de los bancos y mesas esparcidas alrededor del puerto y comido ellos. La langosta Hut cierra los Lunes y abre todos los demás días entre las 12:00 y las 16:00 horas. Tienes que ir allí temprano ya bien pueden salir - solo venden lo que han capturado esa mañana. También venden sándwiches de cangrejo y langosta (rollos) a precios muy razonables y refrescos sólo £1 por pueden. Este es verdaderamente un "DEBE" para una visita a Crail.

Well this is what you call fresh lobster, friendly staff and great service, we visited during our visit to Crail which is a beautiful village and a great way to spend a couple of relaxing days

Three of us had crab rolls and lobster rolls from the shack and ate them at one of the many picnic tables on in the harbour. No fancy garnishes of gimmicks just quality Scottish shellfish freshly cooked and prepared served in white bap style rolls. Wonderfully and extremely reasonable (3x crab & 3 x lobster rolls = £18).

We had found The Lobster Shack on the Fife Food Map which we had picked up in Balgove Larder and I'm so glad we did! We went to Crail on a day trip from St Andrews (to the beach, Roome Bay then off we went on the lobster hunt). It's literally a shack selling fresh whole lobster, lobster & crab rolls & dressed crab. The freshly cooked lobster (which takes about 10 mins and is a bargain at £11) was served with plates (fish shaped nonetheless), cutlery, salt, pepper and lemon. It was so simple yet delicious. We sat on one of the few picnic tables around the harbour.

This place is great. Eat fresh steamed lobster at the scenic Crail harbour. Lemon, pepper and salt included. Wrap up warm though as it is all outside.

What an amazing find this place was. Tucked away on Crail harbour, selling the day's catch of lobster and crab. Completely basic and fantastically delicious! Lobster and dressed crab served with lemon and seasonings. Lobster for only £11! Lobster rolls for £4. Be warned though this is all they sell. We supplemented with fish and chips bought in anstruther to make sure our children and my mum had enough but all the kids wanted was our lobster. You can also take the lobsters away to eat at home. We will definitely be back! Crail is also a lovely town, very friendly residents who will tell you about various sights you wouldn't otherwise discover.

Oh my God! ! If you love crab and lobster then this is the place to visit. A shed right on the harbour is the best idea ever. Myself and my partner chose crab sandwiches and a drink but you can buy fresh lobster and crab served on a plate for £11. There are benches along the harbour where you can eat. It is only open until 4pm so get there sharp. We will be back next time we are in the area.

Noted the shed was open and decided lobster salad for dinner would be good on this hot summers day. Offered a choice of freshly cooked lobster and really enjoyed it when we got home.

When in Crail we head to Reilly's Shellfish at Crail Harbour (also known as the Crab Shack or the Lobster Hut) to buy fresh Crail Crab. They're prepared on the premises, fresh from the sea and we take them back home to eat with salad or make a delicous crab and chilli linguine - really simple to prepare, and perfect when you're on holiday and don't want to do too much cooking.

I've been coming here on my trips to Crail for a little while. My partner has never had lobster and so I though there is no better place than the lobster hut. It's a shed with a tank of lobsters and a basement kitchen. You sit outside at the beautiful harbour in Crail. We had a freshly cooked lobster, it was still warm, fresh from the pot, halved and with tools, it can't be beaten. Price wise it's excellent, £12 for our lobster and £1 for a can of coke. It was sunny and we got right outside, I sat in the same place Rick Stein sat at when he visited for his tv program and he raved about it.

My wife loves this place. Get there early so that they are not sold out to avoid disappointment, Great value for money

we love calling at this great little 'shack' to pick up fresh dressed crabs and lobsters. Nothing nicer on a warm summers day that to drive over from St Andrews to pick up fresh cooked lobster for tea along with our own salad leaves and boiled new potatoes.

We bought some dressed crabs for dinner and they were as fresh and delicious as any I have eaten. They were also reasonably priced and the girl serving went out of her way to find us some ice to keep them fresh on the way home. Strongly recommended.

The warm sunshine and pretty harbour view certainly helped but the simple lobster rolls were absolutely delicious. I have never had tastier lobster - all for £4

Si trova proprio nel porto, l'insegna "Freshly cooked Lobster" e il baracchino con i cartelli del menù hanno attirato la mia attenzione. Per 11£ abbiamo preso un'aragosta intera tagliata a metà, servita su vassoio da mangiare all'aria aperta: ci siamo seduti su delle panchine con dei tavoli proprio davanti al porto per mangiare questo piatto così semplice e squisito.

13£ per un astice freschissimo da mangiare al naturale, in riva al porto. Esperienza stupenda, inimmaginabile in Italia, o quasi.

We have got many lobsters from this shop and I have always enjoyed them, friendly and knowable staff and great prices

It's just next to the bus station offering hot lobster soup and sandwich. The soup is just so-so as it tastes like soup from instant noodle. The price is relatively high.

Despite checking this website twice for opening times, both day before and on the morning of our planned visit (27th October ), the shack was not open !!! Six people very disappointed. Luckily we only travelled 10 miles. Another couple looking forward to a tasting,who arrived at the same time, had travelled for over an hour. Very poor. Changing your times or put an out of season notice.

It was a sunny fresh day on this part of the Coast. Friends who live in saint Andrews and that during the lobster season are regulars at the Hut brought us there. We brought drinks from home(however they also sell cok and water). We had a great lunch on the benches with a wonderful view. The service is very "dry" but i think this aspect gives more character. the lobster was fantastic and with two medium size lobsters we have eaten in three. I would definitely recommend a visit and a lunch on sunny Scottish summer day!

My wife loves lobster and crab and since I was born in Crail took her here a couple of times. She says this is the best most fresh she has ever tasted, out of this world. The setting at the harbour is awesome and reminds me of my childhood.

Crail's tiny harbour has a tiny lobster hut with amazing fresh lobsters. We got a whole one for 11 pounds. Better get a freshly cooked one, tastes better when it's hot. They also have amazing crab rolls to go.

Took the kids here so they could try crab and lobster for the first time. Needless to say they didn't like it. However it was an experience and it just meant more for me. A must do if visiting Crail!

First visit here while staying at a relatives place in St Andrews.

Bought 2 prepared lobsters for me & daughters tea. Absolutely delicious! Can't recommend enough. We bought ours & took to eat at home but u can buy & eat there or on harbour as there's plenty of picnic tables/benches. They also sell dressed crab, boiled crab & crab rolls all very good value. Looking forward to getting a dressed crab for tea tomorrow

Just had to sample the lobster at The Hut, £11 for the experience but it was delicious. You can see live ones in the tank, ready fir the pot. Very fresh and tastes. Not a lot of eating in it but it is good. They also serve crab . some folks eat at the table outside. And Aldo enjoy the beautiful views of Crail a Harbour , it's popular with tourists too.its just a little hut cooking fresh lobster, oh so nice!!!!!

We had lobster and dressed crab for 14 of us, absolutely gorgeous and beautifully prepared. We collected them from the hut and were served by very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend to any seafood lovers.

To be clear this is a restaurant but a small place on the harbour where they sell freshly caught lobster and crab. They are caught same day as you eat them. Great value and very popular local place. Try it if you are in the area.

I loved this! The hut was only open at the weekend between 11am and 4pm, however, it served very yummy fresh lobster you selected yourself for just £11. Sit at a bench to eat or takeaway....lovely idea!

Ask for. 2 fresh cooked lobsters asked how long to cook 7. Mins. The guy said. They arrived no steam. Tepid would describe A bit. Disappointed

Visited the Hut on May Bank Holiday Saturday and checked they would be open on the Sunday and have plenty lobster available to take away. Turned up on the Sunday and no cooked lobster, but then it was lunchtime and busy. So we were invited to choose one and have it cooked to order. Being honest that's probably the best option anyway. Chose two smaller ones for £26 total and they offered to half and clean them and crush the claws. I knew how, but it was easier for them to do it. Took 15 minutes and we went for a walk and ended up sitting on a wall in the sun. They came and found us which was a nice touch.

Been here twice now after checking opening times via the internet. Both times it was firmly closed. A long way to go for such a disappointment.

Go to Crail and the seafood shack every summer from family friends visit from all over Canada ,India and USA ,we always take them for lobster at the shack .Its simply the best lobster at cheap price £11 each ,eat at the harbour picnic tables or on the beach . Fifes hidden treasure for sure .

A rickety shack on the picturesque quayside at Crail. They will cook your lobster or crab for you and you can take it away or eat it overlooking the harbour.

Cycled from Edinburgh to here and is our reward in doing so, a lovely lobster freshly cooked and a crab roll whilst we wait.

Love this place in the summer. Don't go if you're looking for a posh restaurant, but it has a rustic charm and the crab couldn't be any fresher.

Although not a restaurant, if you are down by Crail Harbour you should definitely try the fresh lobster and crab from here. It's amazing to eat them so fresh and sitting Al fresco overlooking the harbour. It's only open from 12-4, though so bear that in mind. We shared a half lobster, which came fully dressed. That cost £11.

This is NOT a restaurant. It's a hut and area where lobster and other seafood is sold in Crail Harbour. Look for a brown hut with a barely visible sign next to a stone building, at the bottom of the Harbour. Freshly caught lobsters and crabs are sold for a few hours, most days.

Celebrating our wedding anniversary and my birthday with our two boys we decided to pop to Crail off the back of other trip advisor reviews. What a treat, for the boy's to pick our lobsters, then sit along at the picturesque harbour beach whilst they got cooked. Really tastey, a first for all, it was well worth the money and a lot cheaper had we been sat in a restaurant. This is a hut that you go to with the lobsters in a stone pool at the side, pick and pay at the hut, go enjoy a lovely walk for fifteen minutes then come back to be given your feast on a tray with pepper, lemon juice and tools. We sat at a picnic bench and I supped on pink champagne I had earlier squirrelled away from the fridge at home ! Perfect.

Visited this place several times over the past few years but most recently at the Crail Food Festival. Lovely fresh lobster and kids love looking in the tanks. Nothing Posh about this place just a hut!

We have a caravan in Crail but didn't know about this place until last year. We made our own rolls, brought our own juice and all that's left is to pick your lobster @ £11 each. Good value and cooked to perfection.
