Ross is clearly a highly skilled chef, his place easily competes with others who have been awarded a star. Incredible food in a nice relaxed setting offering excellent value for money. Highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed.

I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant during our getaway to Mull, and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip. It exceeded all expectations. Chef Ross showcased his exceptional talent by personally introducing and explaining each dish, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. The ambiance was perfect for a romantic evening or simply for indulging in excellent cuisine. Needless to say, we'll be returning without hesitation.

Third time visiting since opening last year. And once again a spectacular meal. Every time I think Ross and his team have hit peak they push right past it with more amazing creations. Definitely worth popping in, hell Id go back to tobermory just to eat here. Well worth it get in quick before he gets a star and there's a 6 month wait list

I could not recommend this restaurant enough and it's a Al a cart restaurant for people that don't go to al a cart restaurants in that it is not over the top or pretentious. The staff were attentive to our every need. If anyone has soya or gluten intolerant this is the place to go. They could give a lot of restaurants across the country a run for their money on meals for people with intolerances so thank you.

Cannot recommend this enough, and equally want to keep it a secret! We went for the a la carte menu which was fantastic. We both had different meals and all phenomenal. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, felt like valued guests (even our two little cockapoos were spoilt with some kibble and a bit of beef cheek). Planning our next visit already! Absolutely outstanding. We hadn’t visited before but took a chance by booking our wedding dinner here. It went way beyond our expectations. Ross is, frankly, a genius - the food is world class, and real value for money. Every detail on the plate is perfect, and his sauces are to die for. Do the tasting menu, and get the wines - Jamie is a brilliant maître d' and you’ll have a great time being talked through each dish and drink in an unpretentious, knowledgeable manner. We had been to Andrew Fairlie earlier in the week and with no disrespect to that establishment, I would choose this place every time. The best of Scottish produce paired with top tier culinary skill and talent. What a brilliant thing for Mull to have these guys doing what they’re doing. Don’t miss it!

We were married on Mull last weekend in a small, close knit ceremony and chose to visit An Cala Ciuin for our wedding day dinner. We honestly could not have been more delighted. My wife is from Mull and we have spent many years traveling to the island and have tried it's many restaurants. We enjoyed the tasting menu and the team at An Cala Ciuin genuinely blew us away in terms of the food presented and the overall experience. We loved it! For context, it was also my wife's birthday the week previous and we chose to visit Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles (x2 Michelin stars) to celebrate that occasion in the run up to our wedding. Whilst that was an excellent meal also, where would I most look forward to going back to (and will!)?... An Cala Ciuin, hands down. We honestly can't wait to come back again. Thank you to the team there for making our wedding day that little bit more special and doing what you do!

Had dinner here from the small a la carte menu. Best meal I have had in a long time and the pheasant main was possibly the best I've ever had.

This restaurant alone makes Tobermory a destination for food. For a start the service was impeccable. It was evident from the first course that the food is cooked with passion and a real knowledge of how to get the best from the ingredients. If you love top quality food and have an appreciation of a skilled chef, then this restaurant is a must. We will be back, but next we will be having the tasting menu!

Honestly what an amazing experience! Breathe of fresh air! The food was sublime, the wine was amazing! Couldn’t find fault! Was refreshing to experience new flavours like this! If you come to Tobermory make sure you book in!! Very fair prices for the quality of food and wine you get!

Easily the best meal I have had for a long time. We had the A La Carte: other diners had booked the Tasting Menu which was something I’d like to try if I came back. I don’t think I can do justice to the quality of the food but suffice to say I have paid a lot more for less at “Celebrity Chef” restaurants in London before now. I had a perfect smoked trout starter - generous portion - which was garnished with cucumber, cucumber purée, caviar and red-veined sorrel leaf (I will never remember it all), followed by an excellent variation on “fish & chips” comprising steamed halibut with possibly the best chips ever….hickory smoked affairs which were to die for. My dessert was called “milk and honey”: mmmm. Decently priced wine list. Very friendly team here who clearly have a passion for delivering something different on the Isle of Mull. I hope they succeed. A real find.

This restaurant is great for a unique tasting experience, from the wonderfully relaxed atmosphere to the high end quality of food! The staff were very engaging and warm, the food was exceptional, and make sure you don't miss the desserts! Excellent value for money!

Completely agree with the other 5 star reviews - this place is a starred destination . Have posted a review already but it doesn’t seem to have gone up. Scallops with fennel and a white chocolate sauce… goodness me!

Best meal I’ve ever had on the West Coast! Food was exquisite, wine perfect and overall atmosphere and service was second to none!

What can I say. Having eaten in several Michelin starred restaurants in my time as a total food snob, Ross at Ancalacuin excelled himself and then some with his staggeringly perfect food! From the crystal bread to the langoustine tartar, the scallops in white chocolate...

Fabulous new restaurant, food tasted amazing and beautifully presented. Service great. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, with a stunning view of the harbour. Highly recommend a visit! We will certainly be back
