Very clean but just wanted a pint, but only drink with food .The staff on duty recommended the brewery 500 yars away with a Taproom what a place thanks for the recommend

Love it here. Recommend the smoked salmon roll. For this visit we popped in for some birthday oysters with their special cucumber and jalapeño dressing. Just wonderful. Thanks again!

What an amazing find. We stopped for lunch. We had booked, which in peak season would be required. Amazing seafood, I can't recommend it highly enough. Can't wait to go back. Great service. Check opening hours as they are only open a few hours during the day when we went. Also not open every day. The oysters are unmissable.

Tasty local food. The service was exceptionally nice and smiling. People who are interested in the customer ask questions and give their comments. Haggis very tasty and nicely presented. We recommend!

RESTAURANT CLEAN STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL

This place is not cheap. However, I have no qualms with the money we spent. £128 for 2 of us for starters + main course. We had the salmon platter, half a dozen oysters, the Langoustines, and a Fillet Mignon. Everything was delicious. The oysters were large, the salmon tasted fresh, and given this is a seafood place, I was surprised at just how great the steak was too. Staff were very helpful, friendly, and not overly intrusive, watching from a distance for when we looked "finished". Had a beautiful view across the loch while eating dinner and would go again despite the expense.

Take away, Fish & Chips and Soup (sweet potato & coconut & chilli), both amazing. A Loch Fyne brewery beer to wash it down. Plenty of parking, but it can get busy.

Excellent clean place with fresh seafood. The staff here need a pay rise as all of them were smiling and friendly where I felt like they genuinely wanted guests to have a great time. The food is fresh and varied. Excellent oysters, flavourful soups and even the sides were tasty. Of note i think it's worth saying even the bread was very high quality. A crisp yet not over cooked outer and a slight malted flavour. Someone here is a very good cook and cares about what leaves the serving hatch.

Awful. Zero atmosphere. Super rude, young and inexperienced staff. Very little produce on display. Had travelled quite far to visit and was looking forward to purchasing lots of salmon, trout and crab but total waste of time. Plenty useless Easter tatt though. Very disappointed and definitely won’t be back.

Absolutely delicious meal. We pooped in at the right time as its usually jumping but got a table easily. For one I tried a pork and chorizo burger and wasn't disappointed although the chowder is more than enough for meal let alone a starter

Decided to pop here for an afternoon of Oysters and left very happy. We tried all of the Oysters on the menu, Raw, broiled (Rockefeller topping), fried with Horseradish mayo and a couple with a cucumber and jalapeño granita - loved them all. We also had a delicious Langoustine Bisque and a huge portion of onion rings. Lovely building with lots of space and a great shop/Deli at the front. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

First time eating Oysters and had 3 as appetiser with different sauces with best being the Chilli and Mint . Superb Starter was Chowder Soup which again was flavoursome and good. Main meal was Kedgeree with a poached duck egg on top was absolutely gorgeous. Friends had Langoustines as staters and had Fish for main meals all of which looked great and were well presented. Service by all staff was fantastic and with the restaurant being full on a Saturday afternoon you can see why

Absolutely amazing food ,passed many times but never went in , im so glad we did today. Ive always wanted to try oysters but been to frightened too they were surprisingly delicious. Great service staff very helpful.

Terrible rude staff. Went here to have lobster, were busy so had to order the take away menu. Two foreign tourists come in after us, no booking and they give them a table…. Crazy. Spoke to the manager and he didn’t care and just said you ordered takeaway so gave them the table. We had to order the takeaway as there was no other option and couldn’t order lobster. Place was half empty, worst customer service ever experienced. Would avoid….

Sadly, Loch Fyne's quality/value has declined terribly. One small fishcake that felt like chewing leather, with a tiny side salad for £24 doesn't cut it, regardless of the beautiful setting. No wonder the place was so quiet. Last time we'll be there I'm afraid.

It is a beautiful location , lovely options to choose from however the staff approach was quite horrible. Literally few minutes ago walked in at 12.25pm and just asked for a menu to look at but as soon as I approached the middle aged gentleman was in a rush to let me know they are fully booked which was not true as the booking list was on the table and I could clearly see it. I replied to his forceful comment and just said no worries just looking at the menu. As was looking at the menu I felt really horrible how he treated me. Me and my fiancé were out to celebrate his birthday. Anyways I went back to the guy asking how far in advance should I book and double checked to see if allllllllll the tables are booked at this hour and he was admin that it was. Oh well I’m sure other businesses would be happy to take care of us if this business doesn’t want it. 2024 how sad is it to be treated differently just bcoz we don’t look local. I hope the manager put equality course for their staff as Scotland is a multi cultural country .

Was here for a passing quick lunch . Or so we thought. Ordered oysters ( which finally arrived with main meal , with which the shallot vinegar had 1 meagre scrap of sallot in it .) When the main meal finally arrived, it had to be sent back to be kept warm ( oysters needed to be consumed first) , so when it arrived back, it was tepid . Only 1 slice of bread ( un toasted too). My partners meal was adequate, but they were a wee bit stingy on the chip front . We had asked for extra, but it didn't look like it .

Must have earned its reputation some time. I guess. Or is it just the location or the lack of competition? Anyway, today the indifference of the succesful is displayed in everything. People will come anyway. So It’s their way or the highway. Like it or not. They’re wrong of course. So if you’re very hungry and you’re passing anyway, stop to have a bite. Otherwise, don’t let them disappoint you.

Went to the deli to break up a longer car journey - a lovely selection of cakes as well as high quality salmon and oysters. The restaurant attached looked lovely - excellent for a pit stop!

Had the mussels as a starter amazing value. Staff brilliant must visit if your in the area. Wish I’d skipped breakfast to eat more of this amazing food

Food was fantastic and the service was impeccible. We were running slightly late and phoned this restaurant to advise them of this and they were more than accommodating. The oysters were the best Ive had anywhere in the world and the portions of all the food were incredibly generous. Would definately go back

It took a long time to get there, hoping to enjoy the food so advertised by Google users. Upon arrival, it turned out that the restaurant was closed, despite the schedule on Google. I had to go to a nearby cafe and have a modest snack of soup and a sandwich. You should definitely call and double-check the information on Google.

Excellent service and the oysters were brilliant

We have been coming here for 3 years as a couple and with visiting family and friends, living an hour's journey away in an area where there are very few dining options we always thought the journey worth it until the last three visits, each one promising to be "our last" yesterday's will be. We we arrived, before we had even sat down ... "Mussels are off" yet there were mussels in the Deli chiller and we were the last diners of the day?? The langoustine bisque previously a favourite, was awful, when we mentioned this (notice I didn't say complained) the waiter was indifferent, however they did remove the charge from the check. Main course: the half lobster was overcooked and chewy, our friend's burger, she had the child's option as they were out of the "grown ups" was tough, dry and inedible, by this grown up anyway. Could be that most children don't critique their burgers?? I telephoned today and spoke with the Manager to let him know how disappointed we were. "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please give us another chance, and we are committed to providing you with an enhanced dining experience to ensure your continued satisfaction as valued customers" That's what I should have heard, instead I received the typical generic responses and prolonged periods of silence, leaving me with the impression of 'What am I supposed to do about it?' The conversation concluded with a vague promise to pass on my concerns to the team. We will not go back and should we waiver from that decision, as we have in the past I will simply revisit this review. Such a shame as it really is a lovely spot to visit ... but we wouldn't want to dine there again.

Quite , unassuming place. Well worth the stop! Clean, and very attentive staff, and the food! Fresh and professionally prepared and presented. Some of the best seafood I have ever had. Can't wait to come back!

Wow, this is world-class seafood! The food is so fresh and portions are generous, I thought it was great value for money. We got the half seafood platter between two but it could have easily fed three or four with sides! We got a table for an early Sunday lunch without booking but I'd highly recommend booking as it was starting to fill up as we were leaving, around 1pm. Only downside is there aren't many options for vegetarians - even one vegetarian main would have been helpful for our poor veggie pal who had to watch us plough through a variety of marine life 😂

We stopped off on the way back to Glasgow and bought muscles and oysters which were lovely We did not eat in the restaurant But it does have a tesla charger.....yay

My father and I traveled there by bus and enjoyed a large seafood platter. It was unbeatably delicious and you could immediately taste it that it couldn't be any fresher. The friendly waitress with long red hair and infectious laugh provided great service. After we left the restaurant in the afternoon and, far from civilization, didn't know how to get there, the nice waitress kindly spontaneously drove us to the next hotel in her small car. Thank you again for that!

Beautiful place, great seafood lunch despite the most atrocious Scottish weather, which added to the beauty of the day. Loch Fyne did the Swan Lake dance for us with white waves synchronising rolling over each other. A really memorable day.

Bought venison sausages, and they were lovely

Delicious kedgeree, which was more like a risotto in texture.

Very expensive. Prices have gone up a huge amount since the last time we were there,and that wasn't that long ago!

I've been popping in since 1987, when a friend introduced me. I popped in again in Friday, 10 Nov 23. Still great service, bulk discount and food was still cold (ice blocks still frozen) after 20hrs later. Nothing like a Loch Fyne Kipper.

Efficient service and delicious food.

This was my third recommendation for my son and girlfriend. Snooty disasters at both the Oyster Catcher, and the Inver, restaurants close by, they arrived at 3.15. Lovely warm welcome, with a smile, can we have a table? Of course where would you like to sit? Marvellous food at an easy on he pocket price. Super. Thank you for saving the day for my son.

An excellent meal of high quality.

I was disappointed this time around. This place has got a bit above its station. It's always used it's name to sell itself and there are still people like me who look for the cheapest item on the menu which is all I can afford to say I have been but to remove the from the menu those affordable and very much loved meals (Cullen Skink) for what purpose I found quite infuriating. I also bought three packs of their largest salmon cuts for friends back home at a whopping cost of £67 to get it home and find it's farmed! Ok, it's stupid really, I should have realised perhaps it's always been this way, I hadn't given it much thought. But that's disappointing too. There was a family outside who just drove up and took a photo of the signage above the door, it's 'famous' after all. But would I go back? NO!!!! Definitely not. It's pretentious and just another money making machine...

A lovely spot to stop and have a beautiful meal. To top it off you can buy fresh fish and vegetables and other things off them too. Next door is a fantastic garden centre as well.

Very impressed with the menu choice, the presention is very good, fresh scallops and cooked to my expectation,12 Oysters yummy... Love to visit again if only on my doorstep, travelled 4.5 hrs 270miles....the shop is great too. Vast selection.

We booked a table for four persons at 1330 on Tuesday 24 October. This was to be a special birthday celebration as well as being a nostalgic trip following the death of a family member who loved this venue. We ordered half a dozen oysters to share as an appetiser a portion of bread and butter together with two glasses of champagne, a glass of red wine, a glass of white wine, water for the table followed by three fish and chip entrees and the salmon fillet with mash and vegetables. The drinks were served approximately 15 minutes after our order was taken and the oysters 10 minutes later. On finishing the oysters we reminded the server of our order of bread and butter. At 1430 there was no sign of our main course ( one hour after being seated ). The bread and butter was served and shortly after our main courses were delivered to the table. We were not offered a drinks top up so we beckoned the bar staff who said that she would get a server to take our order, The food had clearly been held under a warming lamp as the fish batter was soggy, the fish dry and the chips lukewarm. The salmon dish was dry with crusty edged mash. We complained that the food was cold and our server said that she would replace the chips straightaway. The replacement chips took 10 minutes to arrive so by now the fish was cold and inedible. When we complained about the poor service levels we were told that because a large table was being served elsewhere in the restaurant this had caused a problem. Wrong answer !!!! We were offered dessert as compensation??!!! Why this was considered acceptable when our lunch plans had been ruined is beyond me. Needless to say we refused to pay for such abysmal service and a totally unacceptable experience.

We had 2 lunches here over a week, the first was very good, but simple; fresh oysters and bisques. The 2nd lunch was planned for brown crab and half a lobster. Unfortunately both were over cooked so much it was extremely hard to get the crab/lobster out of the shell as the meat and gone to ribbons. Great location, excellent produce, just need to focus on the execution.

Arguably one of the best places for seafood! Unpretentious and welcoming, the food is truly exceptional. Had Oysters, Scallop aranchini, brown crab and kedgeree. Hard to pick a favourite but the kedgeree and aranchini were both superb. We were lucky enough to get a table without booking, but would recommend booking if you're not able to come back later if there are no tables.

Myself and my husband visited last week and the food was absolutely fantastic. We where served by Jordan who had excellent customer service skills and was very attentive making sure we had everything we needed. Nothing was too much effort. Very friendly staff and 10/10 experience which was perfect for our first visit to York. Can not wait to visit again in a few months.

We stopped for a quick snack whilst travelling across Scotland. Good food and nice staff.

No dogs allowed in the garden centre, inside or out, and was rudely informed so departed swiftly for Inverrary.

Great service, freshest seafood and lovely staff. We had a holiday seafood feast we’d been looking forward to! Shame they were out of crab so we substituted lobster. Oysters were plump and creamy with great flavour. Scallops were some of best we’ve had; sweet and tender but cut up. We tried the squat lobster as we’d never had before. They eat like a cross between langoustine and crayfish; the shell will rough up your fingers, but it’s worth the fight. All in all we had a lovely meal and the affable staff helped make it a special time.

I'm annoyed that I have driven past many times over the years and only just sampled its delights. I will never go past without stopping again.

Popped by after a long walk in the hills. Delicious seafood, lovely service and nice glass of wine. Even had a free car charger for customers. Couldn’t ask for more. Only one thing if being picky, was a little chilly as we were sat at a table near door but apart from that very delightful. Maybe bring an extra layer if you get very cold!

Filthy tables in front of the bar! 3 different people served us and no one suggested to clean up the mess after previous guests. They just put our dishes right on it. Quite disgusting.

The two of us had the seafood platter. It was a mixed bag. The oysters and large crab claw were delicious. The albarino white wine was also excellent. But the langoustines, brown crab and lobsters were rather overcooked and tasteless. Seafood is the restaurant's star attraction so it's a mistake they shouldn't be making.

Despite an email confirmation, our booking didn’t seem to have been registered but that was the end of any negativity in our 5 star lunch experience. Wow! Lyn is the best server I’ve experienced in a long while. The perfect attributes. The food? My Parisian friend ate one oyster of the 6 she ordered and instantly ordered another 6. I reckon their lobster bisque is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Superb to be able to order a glass of champagne - another star in my books. I could write a chapter heralding each of these elements. This was superb food in an outstanding scenic location beautifully presented and matched by the service. Thankyou!

When I say this place is worth a stop (or a detour if you’re not in the area), please believe me! Oysters were great (FYI - if you care to know where your food is sourced from, these oysters come from the local Loch itself) and the service even better. Prices are fair and the menu has different options for all sea lovers. Above all, customer service is top notch. We had a flat tire when we visited this place, and John went beyond and above his way to help us out. A true example of the Scottish kindness and in this case in particular, true care for his clients. William (who also works in the business), helped with taking off the flat tire and drove us to the closest town so we could get the help we needed. I will encourage everyone around the area to visit this business and other business to emulate the same service and care we got here. Scotland is a fantastic place to visit and spend your vacations. I highlight recommend this stop for food, services and above all Scottish kindness.

I've been here years ago and I was glad to be able coming back this year. Had an excellent lunch, enjoyed the scallops roe and the salmon. Nice wine pairing on top.

Absolutely delicious. Langoustine chowder was divine as we're the Langoustines fried in garlic butter. Hubby had whitebait followed battered haddock and chips which he also thought were delicious. It was a lovely drive up, beautiful scenery. Fabulous food and friendly service. Definitely worth the trip.

We just stopped here on our way back from a nice day trip without reservation. No problem at all! The friendly service helped us within a minute. The interior is inviting, modern music plays in the background and you can just start to enjoy your food. Have a starter with a main course. It’s worth it. Enjoy! Leider haben wir auf die schnelle keinen Tisch bekommen. Aber gegessen haben wir trotzdem. Take away, konnten draußen sitzen. Essen war reichhaltig und gut. Wir kommen wieder. Heute holen wir uns Lachs und Brötchen und Gemüse. Kann man dort alles bekommen. Klasse.
