We had searched for a steakhouse whilst driving through and this place popped up. Beautiful decor and very friendly staff. Food was top notch and very reasonable.

The seafood was delicious, and the room was fine. I was a little disappointed that they weren’t directly on the loch (which is what it seems like on the website), but across the street.

"Simply the Best" Sunday Lunch! It was absolutely awesome. I have to say the standard of Cattle and Creel is of the highest quality as is the service from George & Iona and the team they have in place. The Chef is a wonder and continues to turn out consistently high quality food with presentation to match! Superb in every way- a great experience from start to finish! Thank you all !!!

Popped in on Friday night to try their small plate evening. We had a lovely selection and left feeling very full. Staff were polite and friendly and the restaurant has such an enjoyable relaxing atmosphere, really was a great night. Thanks guys!

My son and I went last Friday evening for a belated Mothers Day meal and it was the first time we tried the Friday small plates. The whole meal was delicious we had cocktails and two 5 small plates between us and it was all delicious….plus of course the dessert cocktails which were yummy 😀 Special mention to our waitress Amelia she was lovely and nothing was too much trouble as well as a cheery smile. We will definitely be back soon

An impromptu dinner out. Well worth dropping in and pleased to get a table. The food was good and the service excellent, particularly from Iona - a lovely, friendly, efficient and helpful young lady.

Being a first time visitor to the town I nearly didn't go to Cattle & Creel after looking at some of the reviews, but I thought with an excellent average rating I ought to at least try, and I am so gland I did. I like to travel the United Kingdom and as I do I keep a travel diary, here's last night's submission: "We got back to the hotel a little before 5:00 pm were we had a quick wash and brush up before we headed out for our Friday night supper at Cattle & Creel. Jeepers what a fantastic feed we had, and I nearly didn’t go, although they had a 4.5 TripAdvisor rating, a few recent reviews weren’t that good. But I am so glad I gave it a go, as the food, the staff and the atmosphere was brilliant. To start we had some sourdough bread and oil/balsamic vinegar. For the main, as it was tapas Friday we had a fish medley of monkfish cheeks, langoustines and octopus, all of which were lightly battered. We also had a hand dived scallop with slow braised beef and a delicious squash & roe puree. Next up we had a fillet steak with a brandy peppercorn sauce and a portion of 36 hours braised ox cheek, with silky mash, red wine jus & crispy onions, oh and I ordered a side of chips. What delicious food it was, it was an utter delight, and we were stuffed. I was so stuffed that I declined a dessert and I had an After Eight cocktail instead, it was like velvet on my tongue". Sadly I live 150 miles to the north, in Inverness, or this would be my local restaurant, the dining experience really is that good!

Clearly profit usurps customer dining experience. £12 for two and a half (who does this?) small scallops, accompanied by brick hard, trivial pursuit pie sized, black pudding. Cullen skink which was stacked with cream and potatoes, yet light in seafood. £34 for a couple of small plates and a small wine. I don’t mind paying, but I hate being ripped off.

We had a really great evening here. The food was amazing. Started with the prawn tempura which was very tasty. I had the sea bass which was crispy and again very tasty. My partner had the steak. Pudding was divine too! George, our waiter, could not have been more helpful . He even ran to another restaurant to get us some limoncello . Highly recommended and would definitely return.

A rainbow of amazing sea food... Saturday was a perdect day to visit helenburgh farm to stock up, then onto cattle and creel for lunch with my father... From starters of mussells, chowder, to fresh languistines with french fries then home made apple pie....i could hardly stand up afterward...and not because of their fabulous wine selection. I'm sure my rating would have been high, based on reviews, but unfortunately I couldn't dine here! On checking the menus prior to booking, it was very disappointing to see that there were no vegetarian mains on the a la carte menu, nor on the lunch menu. Highly unusual these days. Would it really be so difficult to include one dish?

Best steak in Loch Lomond area! We were just £72 for top 4 course dinner, olives, ciabatta, incredible steak and fish and amazing proper chips followed by cheesecake with home made icecream and coffees to die for. Very clean cutlery and table water with lemon. The service was the best I can ever imagine!! Very romantic setting and super polite waiter. Highly recommended and very good value for money!!

Decided to do a restaurant crawl for a birthday treat. First up the Cattle & Creel for our starter of fresh Loch Fine Oysters. However there were no oysters! Is this the norm here? Do the ever actually have them for sale? Were we just very unlucky? We left.

Fast and friendly service. Lovely aesthetic of the restaurant and great food which was fresh and very tasty. I would highly recommend.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Nothing short of spectacular again. Had the tbone and lobster special last night, and if I shut my eyes, I can still imagine the amazing flavours. Steak cooked perfectly and carved off the bone for us which was a really nice touch. Lobster grilled to perfection, and supplied with a dish of garlicky loveliness to dip.into. can't forget to mention the crunchiest home made onion rings, beautiful pepper sauce, and the richest, stickiest, and tastiest red wine jus I have ever had. Chips were none too shabby either. We could only share a pud. And plumped for the cheesecake, which was again just superb. The service was just wonderful too, and added so much to our evening.

A real treat to find this contemporary restaurant whilst staying nearby. Our favourite dish was the seafood linguine made with a delicious seafood bisque. Highly recommend if a little expensive, definitely worth it.

Went to cattle & creel tonight arrived 5 minutes before our time and shown to our table which was situated at the front of the restaurant but as there were people sitting outside with waitress service every time the door was opened it closed with a bang otherwise food was delicious & service spot on will return just get your door fixed.

To be fair not disappointing because of the food ( which is no doubt very good ) but because we never made it . I booked a table ( in person ) a few evenings in advance . I called at a non busy time to confirm this the night before and double check the time . I was told I was not in the system , then the system was down and to kindly wait ( fine ) and then another person came on after being out on hold and asked what the problem was . I explained again and that it wasn’t a problem but a query but was made to feel at fault and embarrassed before they put the phone down on me . Something and nothing but what a shame .

Second time we’ve had lunch here and it was just as good as before. My steak was cooked perfectly and the wife’s haddock was tasty and not at all greasy. Service was excellent, staff were friendly, professional and not over attentive. Well done all, see you again sometime.

My husband were out for a drive for the first time since the Covid 19 restrictions have eased and we had initially planned to get a takeaway fish supper to eat looking out onto the water, but as luck would have it the Cattle & Creel restaurant were very busy and weren't offering takeaway but thankfully they were able to give us a table indoors and being our wedding anniversary we were so glad they did.The restaurant staff were very attentive to Covid social distancing rules and were extremely efficient and friendly in their service. I started with Calamari and my hubby had the Scallops with haggis bon bons,both were delicious. We both had the Haddock & chips to follow with tartar sauce & minted mushy peas, mmm!First visit to the Cattle & Creel and next time we are in the area again we will definitely be visiting again.

Visited Cattle & Creel yesterday for the first time, despite being local, and my entire family adored it. Every single piece of food was perfect, and the staff were beyond lovely and attentive. We’re already desperate to return!

I really am sorry to be writing this but after my experience last week, I feel it has to be said.I've been a regular customer at the Cattle & Creel for a few years now as I've always found the food and service excellent. However, on this occasion I popped in just after 5pm last week. The Polish blonde haired waitress told me at the door that I would need to order something quick as the kitchen closes at 6pm. I said that was fine and she then took me to a table. I settled on the Linguine Vongole from the Lunch Menu. The waitress then told me I had to order the Seafood Linguine from the A La Carte Menu instead. I questioned this because when I had visited the restaurant previously during lunch hours I was also given the option to choose from the A La Carte Menu. My gripe was, If I can order from the A La Carte Menu during lunch time, then why can't I order something from the Lunch Menu during dinner time?. The waitress had no answer for this other than I had to choose from the A La Carte Menu and that was final. I said I will just stick with the coffee that I had ordered (If it hadn't have already came I would have walked out).What business turns down £14 in the middle of a pandemic?. The whole experience has put me off returning and I'm afraid we've finished on a rather sour note. You've lined the pockets of your competitors.

After reading the reviews of this place expectations were high and service was certainly excellent. However, my wife was served the smallest half lobster we have ever seen (£24) and the samphire with the seafood linguine was woody and completely inedible. They did reduce the price of the lobster when we complained but not the dining experience we were hoping for.

Service was bit slow but the food was good when it arrived. Looked like a bit of a disconnect, eg food arriving art the counter but a delay in bringing it to tables. Some good beer options.

This restaurant is better than it has ever been! The service and care from George the manager and his brilliant team- along with James the chef and his totally amazing cooking skills has taken this restaurant to a new level. If you have not been yet - get yourself along there fast. I finish saying that for me Cattle & Creel is "Simply the Best" . Thank you to everyone for making my day- my week- my month!

Quick lunch, very impressed Drive past and spotted this little gem on our way to Loch Lomond Returned the next day for a light lunch Langoustines, Scallops and a salad. Service was great and the food delicious - exactly what we wanted.

Good atmosphere and menu - unfortunately no lobster (sold out I presume) and somewhat disappointing especially given that this was what we were looking forward to have. Opted for six ousters (of which one off/bad) and the Langoustines (six served) which was slight overcooked.Perhaps I'll have another go next time around!

Called in here on a damp dark afternoon and found a fabulous restaurant!It’s a restaurant for and type of day. The sea food was brilliant and the steaks going to another table also looked fabulous I had mussels for a starter and lobster for my main course. Both were excellent. My wife had langoustines and they were fab Good attentive knowledgeable staff topped off the meal. Will definitely be back. Appears they also have Spanish and Italian restaurants in their group. Will be trying these also

We'd booked a table for a trip from Glasgow. Hebridean mussels were delicious (what a treat!), the langoustines were tasty. Kids loved their calamares with chips and other half said this was the best steak ciabatta he'd ever had. Great service, lovely atmosphere. Choc brownie was amazingly rich - I think we all had some if it in the end.Recommended!

4 of us offered a nice table by the window when we popped in without a booking. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We all had mussels to start and a half lobster with fries. All delicious and washed down with a reasonably priced and excellent bottle of wine. And it was an Eat Out to Help Out day. What more could you ask for!

The restaurant itself is quite modern and clean.The waiting staff were very friendly and courteous.The alcohol is averagely priced ...e.g. a pint of lager costs roughly £5 + depending on which brand you preferThe food is slightly over priced for the amount you actually receive .... e.g. a small 8oz fillet stake is £27 (which comes with half a tomato and a choice of sauce and nothing else) any additions like chips, onion rings etc can be included at a higher cost.If you are looking for value then I would suggest that you look elsewhere as there are many quality places offering better value for your money than Cattle & Creel but if you wish to try the dishes on offer then I would also suggest that you use the Eat Out To Help Out Scheme otherwise its just not value for your money.

It is no secret I just love this Restaurant! BUT.... for a reason! It is consistently superb! The food is excellent, the service is brilliant and the processes they have in place work extremely well. Last week I had Lobster Thermidor and my guests had Fillet steaks- they were faultless. Last night we had exactly the same again and it was even better if that was possible. George and his partner Iona run the restaurant like clockwork and nothing is too much trouble. Chef's Duncan and James have excelled themselves since opening up again. We had an amazing family celebration.
