The food was delicious , and defo curry sauce just kicked it off 1000% better I enjoyed best takeaway I’ve had n better than down where I live staff in there were just lovely and incredible

It was a belting scran I got a full pizza supper and a single burger, it was a really good dinner made my face light up so much.

Cracking little choppy. Visiting the area on holiday and had a lovely welcome, food was good quality and reasonably priced.

This is a great local chippy, with great service from the lady in charge. They have kind words and a laugh for everyone, whether local or tourist. They know their locals. Their chips were so good, my fussy teenage son demanded more for tea the following night.

We were staying in our caravan at Larbert and found this place through Trip Advisor and it’s 5* reviews. It was about 4-5 miles away, but wow it was so worth it. We didn’t really understand just the amount of fish we were ordering, as things are different for us in Yorkshire. Anyhow although we had a huge amount, we somehow managed to eat it all (even the battered haggis was a very welcome addition). The staff were very friendly and they deserve 10/10 for all round fantastic service. You know who you are 🥰👍

This is a hidden gem, a family run Fish and Chip shop. If you want freshly cooked food, quality ingredients, great prices and friendly service this is the the place to go. No fancy cardboard boxes and over inflated prices just good old fashioned fish and chips cooked to perfection. I pass three other chippies just to get my fish supper but its worth the journey. Give it a try you will end up going back time and again.

Found this place whilst visiting the Kelpies. Best fish and chips we have had in years. Food was fried to order. Friendly staff, when we went it was cash only so go prepared although we were directed to a cash point a few streets away.

Always great quality meals (fish and spicy haggis are exceptional) Very friendly staff, can wait a while at the weekend but only as it's so busy because it's so good! One of the best chip shops in Falkirk.

We were on the way to visit the kelpies and wanted to get some fish and chips for supper. We had heard of this place before and because it was on the way we decided to get our supper there. And what a great decision that was. This is the friendliest chippy we've ever been to. The ladys were incredibly friendly, the portions huge and the fish was delicious. We would always go back there if we had the opportunity. Its also close to Falkirk Stadium. Highly recommended.

Visited this establishment on Thursday evening .Disappointed that at 7.40 at night they did not have any fish. This is the 2nd time this has happened to my knowledge .Will not risk going back .The real disappointment is that the fish is normally good. Bad management

We visited this gorgeous fish and chip shop whilst visiting the kelpies. The two ladies provided absolutely outstanding service for us from south of the border. We ordered a bag of chips and curry sauce and a pizza supper, all the food was cooked fresh in the immaculately clean environment. The chips were some of the best I have ever eaten!

Both the food and the conversation is worth popping in for. Always fresh and more than decent price.

Been in a few times always so nice and you can tell its all fresh it's cooked in front of you staff are lovely will be back in soon n the man from England Julie,s friend so if you visit Falkirk get their in my option it's the best chip shop in falkirk all you can do is try and their black pudding is outstanding not forgetting the haggis and the main event the fish I got a single fish just great

This fish & chips shop, is superb in my liking. People, serving the food is so friendly and they cooked their fish and chips the way I liked it, fresh and crispy when its cooked for me. Highly recommended to go for a traditional fish & chips which is a family run business for many years. They deserved to be awarded best fish & chips shop.

Visited tonight and the fish and chips were freshly made while I waited. it was very busy with the queue outside in the street but it was well worth the wait as the food was so lovely the staff are very pleasant and friendly.

I periodically visit Balfours for a fish supper and I must admit I enjoy the craic whilst waiting for my supper. Thankfully I have managed to get out before the boss starts to sing! The food is fresh and tasty. Would recommend to anyone who wants a laugh whilst waiting for their food!

1st time at this chippy which both my sons and a number of my colleagues have raved about. An early Friday teatime request for a single fish saw me decide to test out the Balfour.When I arrived I was immediately made welcome by the two ladies who seem to run the shop - they appear to know most of the regulars by name.the food was cooked fresh to order and yes the curry sauce was amazing. Portion size was adequate and service was first class. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful freshly cooked fish and chips served by very cheery staff who chatted while we waited on the fish cooking. It seems to be a very popular place as there was a long queue but it was worth the wait.

After watching somefin on TV last night where they were eating Fish & Chips. We decided to go to Balfours Fish & Chips for Saturday night tea. Although we stay locally we never knew it was there, 2 Fish Suppers ordered, We tend to drive through to Bridge of Allan, when we fancy a chippy tea.Balfours fish supper was epic.Lovely and fresh.I finished mine but our dog was treated to some of my wifes. Huge portion.Best chippy in Falkirk by far. And very friendly community based staff.

come from liverpool to visit family in falkirk and never been in such a brilliant chippy. the girls were great and showed a genuine interest in getting to know all their customers. The food was fantastic and cooked incredibly fresh. Nice to see someone put passion into what they do and wish there were more of you, keep up the good work, Ill be back soon.

Firstly big companies could learn a bit about customer service from Donna. She seems to know the name of every customer, what they like and waves a friendly goodbye to everybody on the way out. Well done Donna.The food doesn't quite match the service but its still pretty good and any chip shop which adds crispy bits is a winner for me.So 5 stars for the service but maybe only four and a half for the food.

Travel a small distance just to get a fish supper but kids love the nuggets & black pudding Defo recommend an the service is amazing lovely people who never forget your face x

I grew up in Falkirk and if you did to you'll know 'Balfour'! You'll not get a better chippy anywhere! It's so good... best chips! Best black pudding, Best king rib, Best brown sauce... The list goes on and on. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.The staff are brilliant and friendly and they never forget a face!

I moved into area about a year ago and have now tried several chip shops, but I have got to rate Balfours with 5 stars, and now it's my local CHIPPY . I travel from one side of Falkirk to the other, its definitely worth the effort. Great food, prepared to a high standard, excellent friendly customer service. I have read an earlier comment where the person said it was only locals that the staff were friendly too, I really can't understand this comment. After only a few weeks of going the girls know my name and my order, they make me feel like one of the family. I have also witnessed how they look after their elderly which is a credit to the staff. They take time to enquire how they are which is a very rare quality nowadays. It's no wonder every time I visit they are extremely busy. First class girls, keep up good work.

As a family we have tried most of the menu in Balfour's and everything is great! The staff are friendly and great with children. Portions are generous and it is value for money.

The chips were beautiful, the black pudding supper was fantastic and the sausage was amazing. I think it is the best chippy in town! They make everything fresh. The curry sauce is really good. The mushroom pizza is the best thing in there. So everyone should go and try it because it is amazing! I will go back there again like a million times as Donna and Jill are very nice

Clearly very popular with local judging by queue, however seemed unprepared for a tea time rush, fish was good but chips were very ordinary even though obviously cut on premises, portions good, server was coughing and spluttering, handy off the motorway, easy to find opposite football ground but there other options here.

Has good reviews, so, as was in the area, stopped by. one member of staff coughing, spluttering, one handled cash then handled the rolls, portion of chips/cheese was average sized, seemed like a friendly enough wee place for locals but I must have got the "outsiders" treatement.

reading the reviews, ok, happy to give it a go, not in the best area of town, known locally as "the Boag", but, inside every pile of dung could be a slither of gold, so, open minded, headed down on Thurs, and was welcomed by the friendly banter of elderly women spluttering and coughing all over the place, nice, again, given the high quality reviews this did not put me off, so ordered my food, chips/.cheese and drove home. Portion was average, not huge, stomach, maybe 2 hours later, bit uneasy, but this could have been down to any reason, however, Friday am, half hour after waking up, well, my bowels have just produced a stinking animal like mess that I did not even know I was capable of producing, course cant 100% "blame" this fine establishment, but, any camera recording in the premises will have picked up this appalling coughing, spluttering, bare hands then used to touch the cash and bread rolls, bare hands after touching cash! not on ! go see for yourself ! disgusting. sorry :(

After driving around Falkirk District and beyond for years trying all of the chippies for good Fish & Chips, we have settled for Balfours. Always get a friendly welcome from Donna, Aunty Mamie and young Jill on occasion. Easy access jusy off the bypass road across from the Falkirk Stadium. Superb portions and good selection of soft drinks.

First point to mention is the size of the portions served at Balfour's - simply enormous! Two fish suppers virtually filled our small rucksack. Awesome. Second, the staff are soooo friendly, both to us as newcomers and to the regulars, all of whom they knew by name. The price could maybe be a pound cheaper but that's a small quibble. We recommend Balfour's most highly!

This is a wee hidden gem not far from The Kelpies and Helix Park. It's a proper no-frills chip shop with all of the traditional treats on the menu, including their excellent Sweet-Chilli Haggis Supper. Everything is cooked fresh and the chips are the best ones I have tasted since the original Moscardinis closed.Very friendly staff, great banter and very reasonable prices for good portion sizes. You can't really ask for more than that. Well worth the visit whether you are a local or a visitor looking to finish off a family day out at The Kelpies / Helix Park with a great bag of fish and chips.

Best fish and chips in the area and beyond - the children think so too. And the banter is great - such friendly folk in there. There's always a queue so the food is fried there and then.

When we visited our Daughters home on Saturday night's, to see them and Grandchildren we all looked forward to our tea, we would go round to Balfours, and get a big order, of Fish and chips and Haggis and chips, there was always a Que ,but service was very good, the Staff were so friendly, and their chat was good, she even burst out with a bit of a song, and we would get our Iron Brew and Cola, the prices are very reasonable,.and big portions, ,then we would go back to the house, and we all tucked in to that great food, a very enjoyable night, we still go their, hope you try it some time, !!

Have visited balfours on a number of occasions and everytime the food has been great. You have to wait a small time to get your food but this is due to everything being cooked fresh, so not a bad point really. Would definitely recommend

Scouts were go-karting so used TripAdvisor recommendations to drive to Balfours for take-away. Almost didn't go in as it didn't look open, but glad I did. Lovely, very friendly servers and the fish and chips were very tasty. Would recommend.

We were out for a walk at the Kelpies and felt a bit peckish. Had seen the reviews for this chippy and decided to walk the extra 5 mins past the Falkirk Stadium and over the park to this chip shop. Really good fresh chip shop food, good size portions at a decent price. Staff had a bit banter as well and seemed to know we were first timers here and kept the chat going. Don't usually review chip shops but this was the best we have had for years, really good tasty stuff. We will be back

We tried this wee chip shop a couple of months ago and now would not go anywhere else. We have tried different suppers and never been disappointed with the food. The two women assistants are so friendly and welcoming and seem to know all their customers. Yes you do have to wait but that means everything is cooked fresh to order. Their small fish supper priced at £3.50 has a normal portion of chips and a full sized fish. I would completely ignore any of the bad reviews, some people would never be satisfied!!

After visiting the Kelpies nearby, we decided to go for some fish & chips locally. A quick TripAdvisor search recommended 'Balfour's Fish & Chips' in Falkirk.Literally across the road from Falkirk Football Club, this is a traditional chippy with the standard menu you expect. It was very clean. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. And, always a good sign, it was very busy (and this was only around half past three in the afternoon).We went for Haddock and chips. We were warned in advance that the portion was quite big and that maybe would only need one fish supper and maybe an extra portion of chips. How about that? If there's one thing I admire immensely, it's honesty with the customer. It would have been all too easy to let us spend more than we needed too. Top marks for that alone!As it was, we did buy two fish suppers. And they were huge! Each had a generous portion of chips topped with two battered haddocks!The haddock was excellent and very fresh. The batter was, like most places, a little sticky and tended to stick to the wrapping paper but otherwise was tasty. The chips were also good. A very good fish supper... that neither of us could finish!I would definitely make this my local chippy if I lived locally.

I'm originally from the east coast of Yorkshire where fish and chips from places like Scarborough and Whitby are fantastic!! Balfours is the only place I go to get the same quality and value for money!! They are really friendly and down to earth. Why would you go anywhere else... I don't!Thanks guys

What kind of chippy in this day and age doesn't offer tomato ketchup? Not even sachets! Asked by the older woman what I wanted on them, and they were saddled before I said no and asked for ketchup. They don't do ketchup cos their brown sauce I'd do good! It's really not...

As usual mine and my husbands fish and chips were beautiful. All freshly made while you wait. Q'd out the door again as usual. Regulars and new customers treated like family & always a laugh. Donna and 'Auntie' what a great team.

This is a takeaway not a restaurant and should not be in this category.there are many good restaurant in falkirk that work really hard from morning till nite trying all kinds of things to keep their business fresh and innotive yet their are outdone by a chippie open a couple of hours a day.for the life of me can't understand how they can be no1 in falkirk it's a joke

my first visit to the chippy was well impressed best we have had in a while with great friendly banter a must for all bairns and I would also highly recommend sams diner snack bar they also have food is great there too and always friendly u can even sit in here well done guys we will be back soon

Took a trip down last night and we were not disappointed. Fish was crispy, fresh and really tasty. Chips were fantastic. Donna really is the hostess with the mostest as they say and is friendly, helpful and welcoming. Will be there again very soon.

Best every Crispy batter covering succulent tasty fish, Chips freshly cooked would highly recommend, we will be back. Great service from friendly staff, They even give you plastic cups for your juice and paper hand towels plus fork. Extremely satisfied customers. We were recommended by a friend.

Ok so Balfour chippie is virtually on my door step and i could sound very bias towards my review. But it is without a doubt the best chip shop in Falkirk and surrounding area by a mile.You see the problem is i do a lot of travelling and i love fish suppers so i have tried a lot of chippies up and down the counrty. Big potions but lacking in flavour, small portions that cost too much and others that are just utter rubbish. But at Balfours you get a great size portion and a great price. It is always cooked very fresh including the chips and while you wait for your supper there is always very friendly banter with the staff. Trust me the tears will be rolling down your face with laughter. As for the location. It sits opposite the Falkirk Football Stadium behind the Fire station. You wont miss it. The lovely smell will guide you there. Great job girls. Keep up the good work and keep those standards high.

Lovely fish and chips with huge portions....great value for money :-) The ladies in the shop were very friendly even though it was our first time in the shop and even gave my 3 year old a free bottle of juice with our order.

We were heading for Benny Ts after finding a parking space for the Rod Stewart concert however the lovely aroma took us into Balfours which was nearer the stadium. It was busy but so efficient and friendly that it was a pleasure to wait. The food was well priced with smaller portions available, freshly prepared and delicious as only fish and chips eaten outside can be. PS The concert was fabulous too!

Absolutley amazing fish & chips from Balfours Fish & Chip shop. We found it on Trip advisor after looking for somewhere to go prior to the Rod Stewart Concert last night at Falkirk football stadium. So if you can find the football stadium you'll find Balfours and it is well worth a visit, you will go back for sure. :-)

Very good value, friendly, warm welcome. The fish is freshly cooked and the chips are done to perfection. This is a real gem and the service is great too. This mother and daughter operation is one of the very best fish and chip shops that I have come about. These two women are talented and top chefs would struggle to achieve this standard.It is opposite the football ground.

Honestly the best chip shop in the Falkirk area and I have visited them all , been here a few times and the staff are so friendly and welcoming, as well as being immaculately clean everything is cooked fresh to order and its always busy unlike some! Portions are very generous and its very reasonable price wise. There isnt much more to say really other than I would highly recommend.

Having found the details on trip advisor we decided to try this chippy whilst we were in Falkirk. The girls who run the place were so friendly and chatted to us like old friends whilst they cooked our entire order (including the chips) fresh for us. They are by far the best fish and chips I've tasted in years and having lived at the seaside near North Shields they even beat their famously good chip shop (no easy task I assure you!). If you are in the area well worth seeking out and paying the girls a visit for some good banter and even better food!

We've been visiting Balfours as regular customers since the days of the chip van.A real family business, chirpy banter awaits you and every customer is greeted like a long lost friend.The food is fresh, hot and well cooked. If we are having a takeaway we don't even say that we are going for a chippy, it's always we are going for a Balfours! Which is usually met with a cheer from the kids! Top class, and we wouldn't go anywhere else.

Faultless!!!!! From the days of the mobile van to the shop and beyond! The service and value is tremendously eerily too good to be true! You actually pinch yourself and realise your already awake! I will never forget balfour's famous words when I was a wee lad "dae ye want crispy bits son?" Or even walking past the van and getting called over and being given free chips as a lad! Everything fresh and hot and having tried most of the chippy's in Falkirk would now not even think of going anywhere else. It is always busy which is a good sign in itself. A good traditional chippy as they used to be.

Balfour or the lovely Donna takes your order and cooks it fresh in front of you while having a friendly wee banter. They seem to always know what all the regulars have which makes them feel a wee bit special, and the OAP's always seem to get a few more chips in their bag. Not just a great chippie but a caring one too.

This is a brilliant shop for any of your dinnerr and even lunch if you want it late. food is brilliant and I have never tasted anything like it before. Now using on a regular basis as well.brilliant prices as well and there portion sizes are a reasonable size so you don't get the poxy little 2 chips and a quarter fish.brill place well worth a look.

Have used Balfour's take-away fish suppers often and especially when we have family visiting from overseas. There is a wide range of take-away food cooked while u wait. Banter is good too!
