The best restaurants serving Seafood food in South East

We love Shoal - it's reasonably priced, the service is always good and the food is spot on! Make sure to save room for a gelato after!

I’ve always been a fan of pie and chips, but the standard of pie you get in some chippies these days is the same as you get from the supermarkets. But at Shoal I have found the pies to be fantastic. These are handmade, with lovely pastry. The chunks of meat in the beef pies are delicious. The waitress in the take away says they are made by Karolina on site. I’ve had to join the gym to counter the effects. The chips are brilliant as well. If you’re in Winchester and fancy pie and chips, Shoal is the place to go.

After a stroll along the seafront we were ready for something to eat. Chose the mini fish and chip deal as we were planning on going out for dinner that evening! The mini meal was in fact huge- cod, chips and a large curry sauce - all for £8.99 each! Ate it overlooking the sea and it was delicious. Would definitely eat there again if in the area! ( And no, we didn't need dinner that evening!!)

We always buy our fish from here when in Rye. Great choice, friendly staff and most importantly superb fish. Always helpful in choosing the best fish for you.

What incredible ladies, who kindly catered for our children’s christening. Nothing was to much trouble, and they were extremely helpful with our special dietary guests. A super service, delivered with smiles and even more delicious food! They even added a special little touch and decorated their truck for the occasion. A massive massive thank you as it made the day so much less stressful for me! Keep doing what you are doing because it is great!

Had been recommended this place couple of months ago and finally managed to try it. Loved every bite “popcorn mussels” were amazing 🤩 the cod father was good too. My wife had a crab meat sandwich, that was lovely and we tried “perdons” also nice We will definitely return 👍

Picked up a takeaway on the spur of the moment. Received a warm welcome and an offer of a cup of tea whilst we waited. Our food was cooked freshly for us. There are lots of really interesting photos of the island to look at while you wait. The cod was chunky and so fresh! Perfect portion size and reasonably priced. We will go here again!

This has to be the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Everything was cooked fresh while we waited and it was well worth the wait. Everything was cooked to perfection. I don’t live in the area but will definitely go back when I am visiting Shoreham. My son was so impressed he is going to take his partner there and stay in the B&B across the road. 10 out of 10

I hadn't been to the Harbour since before the Covid crisis started a couple of years ago. Ate there last week. It's just as good as ever. Exceptional quality.

Ordered a seafood platter to be delivered. When ordering the manager was helpful and adapted my order. Delivery service excellent! Lady was polite and again helpful. The food was nothing short of fresh and excellent! Thank you

Genuinely very impressed with the food and atmosphere. A friend of mine had been before and had an amazing time so offered to take me and my partner out for the evening. Andy (the owner and chef) cooked all the food, brought it out and describes each dish. You can tell how passionate he is about the food. We really cannot wait to come back again soon! I was very impressed with the food from here, highly recommended. The fish and chips were cooked freshly to order, and both were cooked just right. Nice crunchy batter on the fish with fresh, tender cod inside. The chips were nice and thick cut and had a crispy outside with soft potato inside. Even after a 15 minute drive home they hadn’t gone soggy like they tend to from some other places. Cod, small chips and mushy peas cost £11.80 which is more than most charge local places for the same meal, but the quality of food was worth the price and the portion sizes were generous.

This meal will go down as one of the best fish and chips I have ever had. A wonderful meal to digest in my stomach with all my Latic acid and other bodily fluids. I was sitting at home and it was getting late, I thought, what a good time it was to have sullys fish and chips. And I must say I wasn’t disappointed another outstanding meal. The crisp chips a joy to eat. The history of Sullys is remarkable and must go down as one of the best hero stories ever recorded.

if you are in Minnis Bay , I highly recommend the Bay fish Bar . Its a short walk from the beach, just past the green with the childrens playground. The fish and chips were excellent, the portions were generous . We had a takeaway for 4 adults and there was plenty to share with our 3 yearold . We had Rock and chips, Cod and chips , Cod bites and chips, and a portion of Battered Calamari (10 ) came to just under £40. I had the calamari and shared some of my husbands chips. I really enjoyed both. My daughter had the Cod Bites and chips which she shared with her 3 year old son . they both had plenty . If we are in the area again, I will revisit this fish bar.
