The Orient Fish and Chips Shop in Guildford

I was very impressed with the food from here, highly recommended. The fish and chips were cooked freshly to order, and both were cooked just right. Nice crunchy batter on the fish with fresh, tender cod inside. The chips were nice and thick cut and had a crispy outside with soft potato inside. Even after a 15 minute drive home they hadn’t gone soggy like they tend to from some other places. Cod, small chips and mushy peas cost £11.80 which is more than most charge local places for the same meal, but the quality of food was worth the price and the portion sizes were generous.

Just passing through today and we fancied a bag of chips. Wasn’t expecting much as the shop was very quiet. Our order was taken and was cooked fresh. The portion was more than generous and must say that they were almost certainly the best chips we have ever tasted anywhere, so good I went back to thank the chap serving. If ever in the area again, will make a bee-line for this chippy and try out their fish. Simple pleasures, but so very, very good. Well done…

Why don't people bother to leave reviews for our longstanding F&C shop? I walked down to the shop about 6.20 pm. A beautiful evening for a walk. My cod, chips + pickled onion meal was delicious. Perfect batter. Smiling counter staff. Plenty of room to sit and wait, well spaced, plus some chairs outside.

Great fish and chips, not greasy at all, very fresh tasting. Lovely people. We've had several meals from here now and all have been excellent. Highly recommend.

We turned up at the door just before closing and they were so obliguing and cooked us fish and chips fresh and kept open for us. These lovely people deserve recognition.

We arrived just as the takeaway was closing and, although they'd already locked the door, they re-opened for us and took our order which was exceptional service. The fish and chips went down really well, I would highly recommend.
