Bluetown Fish & Chips in Swale

Picked up a takeaway on the spur of the moment. Received a warm welcome and an offer of a cup of tea whilst we waited. Our food was cooked freshly for us. There are lots of really interesting photos of the island to look at while you wait. The cod was chunky and so fresh! Perfect portion size and reasonably priced. We will go here again!

Absolutely delicious, freshly cooked while you wait fish and chips. Lovely cosy atmosphere thanks to the very friendly owner and staff. Highly recommend this place and already planning another trip back to try the silkiest bit of haddock in the crispiest, lightest batter I’ve ever eaten! Chips hot and delicious too. Very reasonably priced - thank you 🙂

The fish and chips were freshly cooked and the owner goes out of his way to be friendly. Not only can you take your dog in and eat at the table but he also provides them with little treats. The food is consistently fresh and delicious.

A day at the seaside. Taking the unusual non tourist routes to discover the little gems of historic eateries hidden away from the masses. This is the only way to find where the locals of generations eat and drink. Bluetown Fish and Chips is one of my newest and most enjoyable finds of late. I was amazed at the genial welcome of the host, such a down to earth, and enjoyable guy to speak with. Decades of experience oozed from his pores, you just know, when you know. The food was superb, real sized fish and chips, not the modern version that has been nibbled away from years of inflation. Pour your own salt and vinegar, now that's a dying option of late. Thoroughly wrapped and boxed which maintained the cooked heat until our arrival at Minster beach. Free parking at the beach along marine parade as an extra bonus. There is plenty of free parking at the Blue Town fish bar with plenty of seating or as an option you can take the food into the quaint pub right next door and enjoy a beverage with the meal. I will use that option next time I travel to Sheerness for my lunch and a swift shandy. If in Sheerness for lunch or dinner find this place you will enjoy the food and the areas history.

What a terrible meal, everything not nice, threw the lot and went back to Fisherman's Catch in Broadway, first time we have been and first time i have ever had burnt batter on cod roe... styrofoam packaging then made it all sweat so soggy batter on the roe and chewy batter on the battered sausage, nearly cold, not crispy chips also. Such a shame, staff seemed lovely and cooked from fresh.. perhaps change the packaging?? but that doesn't sort the burnt cod roe....

Bluetown fish bar is the best fish and chips around! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Also ask for the king size burger if your feeling hungry and don't fancy cod.

Everything in this chippy is freshly cooked. Call ahead if you don't like waiting on your food but I can tell you the food is worth the wait. There's no small sausages or cod, expect jumbo or large and you'll still be paying the lower than expected price. First visit, very happy. Very nice friendly owners.

Exceptional chippy. Cooked while you wait, gorgeous batter, fresh fish ,and an utterly charming owner (Johnny). Seriously good value too. Best fish and chips we've had along the North Kent Coast.

I travelled across from Southend yesterday, I read good reviews about this place so I decided to check it out. It's a bit out the way from the main part of town, about a 5 minute walk from the railway station, but it was well worth that walk, the owner was just such a nice man, a real pleasure to meet. I ordered cod and chips, it was cooked fresh to order, lovely piece of cod, with beautiful crispy batter, really nice chips aswell, and such good value for money. I recommend anyone paying this place a visit, you will not be dissapointed.

One of the best haddock and chips I’ve had! Freshly cooked fish and fresh chips...absolutely delicious! Beautifully clean restaurant, COVID safe, great service and staff excellent with children. Definitely worth a visit!

We visited after reading reviews and we were so glad we did. There is quite a lot of history in Bluetown and we often go there but have never bothered to visit the Fish and Chip shop, perhaps because it doesn`t shout out what it is, but that will all change now, after having some of the best freshly friedFish and home cut chips we have had and washed down with a drink from the pub next door, this will become a regular visit for us. A mention also to the owner, who was so friendly and bought out drinking water for the dog and made sure we had all the condiments we needed. Value was exceptional

Honestly the best fish and chips on the island! No doubt about it! First time we’ve been here and not only is it the best in terms of the food but the service was brilliant. Everything is cooked fresh to order and it’s worth waiting for. We won’t get fish and chips from anywhere is from now on 10/10

This is the best Fish and Chip shop on Sheppey. Nothing is too much trouble and the whole meal is always well presented and lush! The seating is basic but comfortable and everyone chats to each other, it really is the best.

You can take away, eat in or sit at one of the outdoor tables (which they share with the pub next door if you fancy a beer with your supper (we did). Friendly folk and terrific fish and chips.

We have been customer s of John's for over twenty years and we take our summer guests there and they all think it's great last one wanted to go back as where she comes from there is no decent fish shop enjoyed looking at the photos of old sheernesss and surrounding areas also thought it was good that John uses locals for his fish

In a word Excellent!! Out walking around Bluetown and found this place, sit-in or take away, very clean, very friendly staff and fresh food cooked to order, reasonably priced, a must if you are in the area 😁

great fish& chip shop was at a function in the bar next door so this place stayed open all night to serve the party goers. cooked food to order to very fresh very nice owner

We have just had a brilliant meal from here. We have struggled to find a decent Fish and Chip shop since moving here over a year ago. £30 for a fresh and freshly cooked meal for 3 adults and 2 children. Excellent service and very accommodating for my mums gluten intolerance.

Excellent service, good food, lovely management, easy to park, extensive menu, Mum really enjoys her fish and chips from here.

Very nice food and friendly service, plenty of parking and can sit outside on the pub benches with a pint or glass of wine too.

Forget the Flying Dutchman in queen borough. If you want the best cod and chips for miles and miles go and visit John at bluetown fish and chips! The only problem with this place is going to. E keeping it quiet :)
