Never thought I'd be writing a bad review for ossies, what used to be the ONLY chip shop I'd use ,has now become one I'll be avoiding 😕 the last few months the chips have Not been the lovely chip shop chips they used to be !! They look and taste like frozen chips ( even though they said they are not ) they are NOTHING Like they used to be ,(wondering if same chips are used for home delivery) 🤔 probably are, it's a shame cos they were the Best chip shop ever ,gave mine to the kids as I couldn't even eat them ...please sort it out Ossies it's gonna ruin your good name ...

The food is fresh and also very nice. Great portion sizes. A couple of items on the menu I haven't tried like a pea fritter and a battered Mars bar. Service is always friendly. Best chip shop in town I'd say

Always friendly, chatty, we love them. Freshly cooked always hot never greasy, fat replaced regularly, my big problem, my bug bare, can't stand the smell of old fat. They are amazing, well done to you all, 👏 10 out of 10+ thank you for continuing to be the best 👌

WOW... There's no other word for it. Was staying close by in Sittingbourne and fancied some Fish & Chips, and Ossie's had good reviews so i thought I'd give it a try... THE REVIEWS ARE ABSOLUTELY SPOT-ON. Great takeaway...I cannot give it anything less than 10 out of 10. Tasty food, reasonable prices, great service and very friendly welcome. This Chippy is well worth travelling for. Shall definitely come back here again, the next time I'm here.. Ossie's is brilliant.

Lovely service, very kind, nothing is ever a problem, they will even serve £1.25 extra small portions of chips which will tide you over until you get home, or keep your kids happy. Very generous portions even the regular small sized portion! The prices are fantastic, the best for miles around for such big portions! The staff throw in humour and warmth of personality for free!!! If you are in Sittingbourne and feel hungry, visit this chip shop, I guarantee you won't be disappointed!! Renewed thank Ossie's for the snack sized portion of chips, my friend and I appreciate it!!!

40 or so years ago this chippy was known as the West End. It was my go to location after spending the evening swimming (mucking about) in the old swimming pool in St.Michael's road. It was small then, but nothing could come close to their battered sausage and chips as I walked home. Jump forward to 2022, the chippy is no bigger, prices have increased, the name has changed to Ossie's but the food remains the same. It still tastes amazing and the portions are still large. Visiting Ossie's has reminded me of my youth with fond memories of all the fun and friends I had growing up. I'm not sure that any other eatery in Sittingbourne could do the same whilst serving such great food. Prices may have improved but this chippy remains in a class of it's own.

This has to be the best fish and chips for miles around! We visited on a cold December day but had the warmest of welcomes. The fish was cooked to order and had the crispiest batter. We ordered medium cod and chips and the portions were very generous. We will definitely be back!

Freshly cooked fish and chips. Not greasy, nice and crispy batter. Shop was very clean and staff were friendly only one down side it was cash only so had to dash to the cash machine whilst food was cooked. Recomend without a doubt.

Generous portions, clean premises, very good fried food and friendly people managing this very busy Fish and chips shop. Most items fried to order, therefore ensuring the fish is crisp and enjoyable. So good we went twice in three days - the fact that it has such a faithful local following obviously says a lot about Ossie's.

This fish and chips shop gives you a very big portion which is also very delicious. Ossie's is cash only which is a problem if you do not have a card at the shop as many people do not carry cash anymore. Whilst you are waiting they give you a very small portion of chips so that you are not just sitting there not doing anything.

They are cheap, but there is a reason for this. Be prepared for A VERY LONG WAIT. and not good chips. Sausage and fish are average.

We live 6 miles away and pass 3 other fish and chip shops to buy their food. It really is the best. Beautiful light batter on the fish and chips like you had as a kid. Only newspaper missing. ( you have to be old to remember fish and chips wrapped in newsprint). ONLY DOWNSIDE, THEY DON’T DELIVER.

Not very nice to be honest. Came in here after work. Paid for meal. Then stood there for 15 mins waiting for chips to be cooked. Not a word from staff saying they were not cooked, no update. Just let me standing there. Staff disappeared off into the back. Really rude. When asked how much longer it would be, was told it would be one minute. 10 mins later, finally got something. Chips were not very nice and tasted of boiling water. No apologies for length of time I stood waiting, no manners, no interested in gaining a repeat customer. Horrible chips and won't ever return.

Stand back people, we've got some sort of self-proclaimed connoisseur! (usually a knob) Yes! I'm northern, but I was born in Cornwall. Pray don't tell me the perfect golden brown, crispness of batter. And chips should first be cooked, and then that same crunch added to the outside. Lord why do I live so far from this place? Where others make it chewy to get the perfect colour, this was lighter than air and skimmed over the tongue with delight. Portion size... Perfection. And I wish I'd have taken a photo of the food I had, it was leaps and bounds (and in paper) better than the ones already added. Duly noted... If you're in or passing through Sittingbourne, here's a plaice you can trust

Our new favourite fish and chip shop! The fish bites are an absolutely huge portion, sausages are always cooked right and my husband loves you get a few chips to nibble on while you wait for something to cook! They are friendly and reasonably priced, we live the other side of Teynham but will make this our regular!

Since moving Sittingbourne in May, this has become our regular take away venue! It's always great value, and we have found that the kids meals are great value and plenty for an adult as well as our teenage boys. I am sure you get just as much fish in a kids meal as if you were ordering medium cod in regular fish and chip shops yet it's a lot cheaper! The only slight downside if you could even call it that is that the kids fish bites are always cooked fresh, so you have to wait a while for your food. But, whenever you order you always get offered chips eat whilst you wait - so is it really a downside at all?! The staff are friendly and chatty - we found out they even chip their own potatoes onsite so you can't get much fresher than that! I recommend anyone to give this take away a go, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Fish and chips for 5 people for under £20 - how can you go wrong?!

The meals were all of big portion sizes and tasted delicious. My grandad and mother both had fish and chips. Where as my brother and I both had a battered sausage with chips, however my brother had a piece of Southern Fried chicken. The chips were crispy on the outside and really fluffy almost creamy on the inside, best chips I’ve had in a long time! As well as the sausage being really good! For drinks my brother and I had a strawberry milkshake, and my mother and grandad had a cup of tea. The milkshake was thick enough to drink but not runny like a yazoo without chunks. Would highly recommend this place despite the fact all of the tables were so close together it was almost uncomfortable!

Lovely chips. Sorry, can't comment on the fish. Was told that chips cooked in vegetable oil. As a veggie for 38 years I hope they did not lie....

We had been out for the day and could not face cooking, so fish and chips was the choice for everyone. Beware the portions are large so you might want to share with a friend

Been here twice now. Such great value and great food. Kids meals (£4 or less) are sufficient for an adult. My 10 year old can't finish one, and a kids meal each satisfies myself and my teenage boys! One visit we ordered medium cod which was HUGE, if that's medium I can't imagine what a large would be! For 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids) we ordered 3 kids meals and my husband insisted on having medium cod and medium chips (our dog was very happy about this as we couldn't eat even half) this came to under £20 which is great value especially as we all had cod. One nice touch that the kids love is that they get given chips whilst you wait! I love the chips - you can tell they were real potatoes once and they are not greasy. In fact they are cleaned, peeled and chipped on the premises (the staff told me last time we were there). Friendly, chatty, interesting staff. As we've recently moved to Sittingbourne we are going to be enjoying visiting here often I think, we've been twice in a month already!
