02/12/2018: Decided to come to Rialto after reading the reviews. Have only visited a couple of times and we only had time for coffee and cakes, but it was excellent. Very good quality coffee and the standard of baking was first class. Friendly, professional service. We'll definitely be back, hopefully for lunch next time.

17/12/2018: Lovely owners and freindly staff. Great choice and a fantastic atmosphere. Setting is like my Nan's oldd sitting room, decadent and unusual

Ebb Carr's

East Berwickshire, Scottish Borders
26/11/2018: Day trip to the harbour . Watched all the seafood coming out of the boats and wandered into the local cafe. Staff very friendly and good quality food on the menu. Although the Cullen Skink looked and smelled fabulous I had to go for the Crab Baquette.
20/11/2018: We stopped for a quick lunch and because of other reports on TripAdvisor, we also chose the Cullen Skink. A veritable meal in a soup bowl and utterly delicious. Excellent and friendly service. Do stop by!

Casa Mia

Mid and Upper Nithsdale, Dumfries & Galloway
11/12/2018: First visit for me - would definitely go again. A little on the expensive side but the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. If we had to find a negative it would only be that the drinks could have arrived a bit quicker.

Friendly staff and reasonably priced meal. Our vegan /vegetarian family members had good choices too so very happy with their meals. Thank you all

Copshaw Kitchen Gift Shop and Tea Room

Hawick and Hermitage, Scottish Borders
06/11/2018: Staying on the nearby caravan site we decided the short walk in the rain might be worthwhile and what a nice surprise. A great meal sat near the lovely open fire in an equally warm and welcoming environment. My lobster lasagna was an amazing start, followed by a good steak and chips. The star of the evening though would have to be the wife’s Lamb, absolutely fantastic. All in all great meal with excellent service. We will be back.
02/11/2018: We had a coffee here before going for a walk and decided to come back for our evening meal. So glad we did, the food was lovely as were the hosts, a nice open fire to warm up after a walk in November.

The Clachan Inn Restaurant

Castle Douglas and Glenkens, Dumfries & Galloway
02/12/2018: Came for my hubby’s birthday. It was the night of the Thistle Awards at which the Clachan was in the final for best pub/ hotel in Dumfries &Galloway;.
15/11/2018: I visited the Clachan last night with friends. The first thing I noticed was how cold it was in the restaurant. Everyone in our party were cold and some even had to share their body warmers with their friends, whilst others had their jackets over their knees. The food was okay, large plates, although not much on them. My food was tepid/warm, it certainly was not hot. That said the staff were pleasant and helpful. The setting inside is nice. However based on last night's visit would I go back and would I recommend - I have to say not sure and not sure would be my answer.

Streetlights

Castle Douglas and Glenkens, Dumfries & Galloway
18/12/2018: Visited here with friend on what must have been the wettest day of the year! The cafe is smallish but cosy and inviting. The owner happily agreed that we could put two tables together as there were five of us. We ordered soups and a variety of sandwiches. The soup was piping hot and the sandwiches were generous with lots of garish on the side. They also do lovely cakes but as we were dining out later in the day we resisted the temptation. Great value for money, I’d recommend visiting if your in Castle Douglas
12/12/2018: My teenage daughter tells me it was the best white hot chocolate she had ever had! The teenagers feasted on the jacket potatoes and gave them thumbs up and my husband and I had bowls of soup. The soup was definitely homemade and delicious! It took all of my will power to resist the home baked goodies on the counter. Thanks for a lovely lunch! It is easy to see why you are rated no. 1 on TripAdvisor for lunch in Castle Douglas.
