DINE at Dunskey Guest House in Dumfries & Galloway

3rd visit and we will be back, lovely food, service and atmosphere. My husband had the sticky toffee pannacotta and said.. That was truly yummy and Paul Hollywood Handshake worthy!!!

I was delighted to get a date night at Dine and Dunskey when we were visiting Portpatrick. The laid back casual environment was very comforting. Emma and the staff were so welcoming and chatty instantly making us feel relaxed and at home. The menu and food was absolutely exquisite and the presentation a work of art. It’s a true gem and I can’t wait to visit again next year.

You can eat anywhere,but if you want to Dine and Dine well,this is where to go.The food is perfect beautifuly prepared and presented.you taste each component of the food separately in each mouthful..it's made and prepared with love,pleasing to the eye....just perfect.

4 of us ate at Dunskey house on Saturday evening, dinner was outstanding quality, the menu very nice and changes every few weeks, service was informal and friendly. Highly recommended, the lamb was the best I've had in years! There is also artwork on the walls from local artists for sale, what's not to like!

Another 5 star visit to dine @ the dunskey . Food phenomenal, service to matchb. This is by far one of my favourite places to eat anywhere ..... Emma and Nick you 2 run a goldmine . This is without a doubt the best food that is served in any of the restaurants in Portpatrick. It really is at a different level to the others. Not open every night so I’d recommend booking in advance of your stay. Our dinner for 12 was excellent and next visit we will try the afternoon tea. BYOB was also good. 👍🏻

A surprise for my lovely husband but I couldn’t contain my excitement when I managed to secure our booking, I just had to share. We had been lucky to experience Nicks amazing food and Emma’s perfect front of house professionalism when they were at the Colfin Creamery. We made a promise to ourselves then to return the next time we were in the area on holiday. We spent a perfect Sunday afternoon dining at Dunskey enjoying delicious food from the main menu which was superbly cooked and seasoned. Beautiful surroundings, a wonderful atmosphere, superb front of house and our two spaniels were made welcome too. They obviously felt right at home and comfortable as they slept the whole time. I would also like to give full credit to the young lady assisting Emma. She accomplished a sterling job for one so young, well done. We will definitely return one day when we are next in this beautiful part of Scotland. Thank you Emma, Nick and family for an outstanding experience. From my first point of contact to book a table right through to the moment we left, excellent. Afternoon tea is top priority on our to do list next time.

Another fantastic meal at Dunskey . The best place to eat in the port without a doubt . Highly recommend a visit you won’t be disappointed

We've been treated to many fine meals and afternoon teas courtesy of Emma and Nick going back to when they were operating as the Old Colfin Creamery outside Portpatrick. Now as part of Dunskey Guest House the delights continue! We've just enjoyed a takeaway afternoon tea (1x sweet & 1x savoury, personal tastes accounted for) for mother's day and as ever it was delicious. We've never been let down in all the years they've been serving us and it's so nice to see how many others are now finding out they really are the best food in the area. My only concern is how hard it will be to get a table in future because lunch and dinner are always fantastic as well. The menu changes monthly and they use local and seasonal products to create multiple dishes to tempt you in. There's some other very good places to eat, but if you want the best, it has to be here!

Both the savoury and sweet afternoon tea were exceptional. The staff were welcoming and very friendly, couldn’t recommend enough!

Been a regular visitor to Portpatrick for 40 years and can honestly say this was our best local dining experience. The whole process from contact, booking, liaison and the service/dining were 1st class. Credit to Emma and The Team. And a special thank you for making our Birthday Princess feel very special. This is a gem of a place in Portpatrick. This was the 3rd time we’ve had the absolute pleasure of having dinner at The Dunskey. Food and service is fabulous. We also have had overnight accommodation which has been amazing. Nothing is too much for Emma whose welcoming sets the tone as soon as you arrive. The attention to detail all round is fab. We look forward to our next visit.

Absolutely outstanding, the food was a delight, presentation was first class, very polite young waitress, Emma, as always makes everyone welcome. First class chef 👨‍🍳 The atmosphere is so lovely. By far the best eating place in both Portpatrick and Stranraer. The Dunskey guest house is definitely the place to head for. Absolute perfection 👌

Had a lovely meal with friends. Great value 3 course set menu. All our courses were delicious. So good my friends had the same choices 2 nights running. Lovely birthday dessert for my friend, singing included. Great service, warm and cosy environment. Just go and see for yourself!

Always a warm welcome at Dunskey! We came for lunch, normally we do dinner. It was flavourful, warm and comforting and pudding to die for. It was well worth the drive from Dumfries ‘just’ for lunch!

Food was wonderful, first time we have made it here. We were regulars when they had The Colfin. If you haven't been you must try it, you won't be disappointed. Thank you so much Emma and the Team for make us feel so special x

New years dinner was booked and food ordered in advance after having a meal in December which was finished off by a fantastic and unique backed Alaska containing Christmas pudding and Christmas pudding and was very yummy. So we were intrigued to see deep fried mars bar! As normal although a limited menu you can customise to your own tastes! We had smoked salmon/prawns and haggis neaps and tatties as starters which were both excellent For mains we both had the very tender roast beef. Sticky toffee pudding and the famous deep fried mars bar were both excellent and unique, not like anything you would find in a restaurant or chip shop in Scotland! If I had the mars bar based again I would only have one piece of mars bar and more ice cream (less is more)

Another visit to the wonderful Dunskey Guest House. Arrived a bit early for a new years eve meal. As always welcomed by the lovely Emma, food was 11 out of 10.. The food is Fresh, tasty, beautifully presented and a good sized portion. If you haven't tried here.... Try it. You will not be disappointed. This place is a little piece of heaven in the lovely Portpatrick... I can not recommend it highly enough. Nick, Emma and family you guys are amazing..... Keep it up. Can't wait to more visits throughout the year. Thank you and happy happy new year x

We had a fantastic Christmas meal here. Emma is a great host, the food is all delicious with a great value 3 course menu. Plenty of good choices, including vegan options. Cosy dining room. Bring your own choice of flavoured gin, or other alcohol. Have never had a bad meal here so why go anywhere else.

Visited with 8 friends, food was delicious and service so friendly ! No alcohol license but they serve soft drinks. Water and tea/coffee were included in our menu! We brought some wine and paid corkage which was ideal! I will definitely book in when I return to Portpatrick, would love to try the afternoon tea!

Dined at Dunskey Guest House on several occasions, food is outstanding, presentation is excellent and the little twists/eye for detail on each dish make it and take it to another level. Front of house is relaxing and Emma makes everyone feel welcome and caters to every need, very polite and does a fantastic job looking after everyone. Such a great little gem in Portpatrick, we always loved dining with them at the Old Colfin Creamery, and continue to do so at Duskey Guest House. The team from the award winning Old Colfin Creamery have a new home. Same friendly host. Same delicious food and drink. The flatiron steak was perfect. Great value 3 course menu with coffee. The double chocolate milkshake was the best.
