Passing through towards the end of a long journey, we were delighted to find this open on a Monday morning. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was the most delicious I’ve ever tasted - especially that wonderful bacon! Definitely worth a detour! Thanks so much!

Look out for this lovely tearoom in the village of Carsphairn, situated on a lovely road route (A713) through the hills of Galloway and Ayrshire. We enjoyed a delicious freshly made lunch of sandwiches and salad- just right for a journey. Very pleasant and helpful service. We will most certainly return.

Stopped at the Carsphairn Tearoom for late breakfast on our way from Yorkshire to South Ayrshire. Nice clean tidy tearoom with good breakfast menu very reasonably priced. Good size portions of Full Scottish Breakfast and Eggy Bread with Bacon and maple syrup and a handsome mug of tea. We took away home made scones, omg, best scones ever. Soft, full of taste (lemon and lavender for me and fruit for my daughter) and lovely slight crunch to the outside. Also a slice of Crunchie chocolate pie, again just delicious.

Lovely to find this appealing wee village cafe open and welcoming on a Sunday. We were looking for a light lunch after a long walk in this lovely area which, to be fair, has very little in the way of cafes and settlements, and even fewer places open on a Sunday. Sandwiches with salads - fresh, tasty ingredients - hit the spot. Interesting range of different scones which were also fresh and and not dry like so many further south. We chose the strawberry scone. Being from the other side of the world, we did not know what an irn bru scone was (despite the best efforts of the lovely wait staff to explain what flavour this “drink” was) but enjoyed seeing the variety of different scones on offer. Good service, a range of choices to eat in or take out - and a we got a car park right outside. Clean toilet to the rear and a number of other items for sale.

My wife & I stopped here for a quick lunch and were disappointed that we had not found the place before now!, from the warm greeting when we arrived and the excellent food, we were delighted at the peaceful & welcoming surroundings. Food wise I had a toasted sandwich and my wife had a toasted wrap from the varied and delicious looking menu, with a choice for indoor or Garden seating the place was quiet and comfortable with excellent and clean toilet facilities. There are also small original trinkets and gifts available to purchase, we bought a delightful small & cute wooden 'duck' for our young granddaughter and we know she will love to see it. All in all an excellent place to stop when visiting the Galloway region & ran by a delightful and friendly couple, highly recommended.

The last time I was in this cafe was many years ago when it was a shop with a small cafe area. Now it is a modern bright bistro type cafe with a delicious choice of menu. When we walked in there were about 12 customers dining. My party was delighted with our choice - my omelette was not just excellent but also presented artistically. They obviously can present food in various styles as can be seen by their Facebook site. They sell a choice of local produce including cheese, honey and biscuits. There is a small grocery area where locals can buy top-up items. Would recommend this to all passersby but check the opening times!

Carsphairn is a small village set in the hills of Dumfries and Galloway and the shop and tearooms is adjacent to the main A713 Ayr road.. A couple of years ago the shop/tearoom was flooded when a nearby river burst its banks and the shop temporarily re-located to the village hall. The refurbishment that followed meant that the owners were able to expand the tearoom and it now presents a warm, bright, and welcoming environment that provides a great stop-off point midway on the journey north or south. Whilst only enjoying morning coffee with freshly baked cake, a perusal of the menu showed there to be a wide selection of snacks etc. with the cooked breakfast looking particularly appetizing. Don't miss it - well worth a stop. Just an additional comment - shame on the local landowners who won't allow an advertsing board to be displayed on the approaches to the village. Supporting local enterprise? Not!

I dropped into this little shop and tearoom on my way down to Castle Douglas. It was lunchtime and there was a steady stream of people coming in either to sit down and eat or to have food to take away. I should be upfront and say that although I now live in Kent, I used to regularly visit this shop to buy my bubblegum when I was a pupil at the school in the village! Of course it was a general grocery store then and now is very much a tearoom. I was delighted to find that my request for a combination of food which was not listed on the menu wouldn't pose a problem. It arrived in no time at all and was very nicely presented, well cooked and totally delicious. Pricing I thought was very reasonable. The young couple were very welcoming and friendly and I really feel they will continue to make this tearoom an essential pit stop for people travelling nearby and also locals alike.
