The best restaurants serving Pizza pasta food in North West

We have visited WFS on countless occasions with friends, with family and also as a couple and I can honestly say we have never had a bad experience. The food is always fantastic (especially the dough balls - a must try) and we are always amazed at how cheap the bill is at the end of the meal. I’m absolutely amazed at people reviewing on here saying it is expensive. Reviewers complaining about a coke costing £2.50. You will struggle to find many pubs or restaurants where you can get a coke for less than that nowadays! Believe it or not, small business’s need to actually make a profit in order to keep their doors open too. You can take you own alcohol, which is great. I’ve seen people again complaining about the corkage charge of £2.50, which I also don’t understand. You get to take a bottle of wine, which you would get charged £30-40 for in another restaurant, but only pay £2.50. I think that’s great value. The staff are great and although there is a service charge on the bill, the staff usually point it out and ask if you are happy to pay it. We have never done this however. We’ve never had need to. I can definitely recommend this restaurant. The pizzas are great, it’s good value and if you want a relaxed, casual dining experience, then you can’t go wrong!

* update for the owner. I went there on Friday night and it was the worst chicken kebab I’ve ever tried just big chunks of raw inside chicken on cold naan bread thrown in a container and burnt but soggy chips

Chose the chicken burger and a side of waffle fries on a Saturday evening. Food arrived after around half an hour which I thought was too long to wait. I became very ill during the night, which I can pretty confidently attribute to this meal.

Wasn't expecting it to be my last time in the Blues of old but as usual it was a pleasant experience with the usual friendly welcome, this time from owner Ann rather than Jo or other staff. For some reason Ann omitted to inform me that the Downes family's ownership of the venue was about to end - indeed Blues was, to me at least, unexpectedly closed the following week. This has left a big gap as far as I'm concerned in Crosby's hospitality venues, as even though Blues stopped selling its well looked after real ales following the covid years and has within the last 12 months also stopped evening meals I always made a habit of popping in for a beer or coffee when in Moor Lane as there was a guaranteed welcome from the likes of the aforementioned Ann & Jo but also Sandy, Caitlyn, Jack, Jen, Keith, Lynn..... indeed all those who worked there be they part of the family that owned Blues or any of the young and enthusiastic staff behind the bar or n the kitchen. You will all be very much missed. Hopefully the new owners will revive Blues' evening food offerings, proper meals & not silly "small plates" please and perhaps even put hand-pumps back on the bar.

Second time having this place and they've been bang on every time. Even the picky kids polished the lot off.

I think our food had been to visit the illuminations and back despite living a few minutes drive from Ansdell Cold limp soggy fries and dry as a bone chicken breasts. Pepperoni pizza was even burnt Will definitely not order here again. Was our first and last time ordering

I should have tried a Pizza but not keen. I wanted a change and tried these. Mixed Kebab not cheap so I thought it should be good but it was shocking, thick, burnt and dry donner meat and very dry Chicken. Will never go here again and would tell friends to avoid at all costs.

REALLY angry and disappointed! Waited over 3 hours for food!!! When it came it was the wrong order, and I was told to wait for half an hour for the right one. Suprise suprise it never came, and me and my boyfriend were calling them and they were arguing and aggressive, refusing to co operate and kept hanging up on us. They even accused us of lying about what we had recieved and refused to give us a refund. NEVER ordering from here again, disgusting service

Best selection of cakes / buns that I have ever come across. Lovely riverside location.

Lovely pizza, great they have vegan options!

Stopped for a pizza and beer one evening for dinner and was rather underwhelmed. If you believe the reviews and website, the pizzas here are to die for. But honestly, mine made the average mark but nothing more than that. Nothing specific, just nothing special as one might be led to believe. Oh, and the Peroni felt weak and feeble - I won't say watered-down but it was definitely insipid. Service was good though - efficient and friendly. Not bad, just not great
