I was very disappointed with my recent visit to the pizzeria. The service was slow, the food was poor quality, and the prices were excessive. I certainly will not be returning anytime soon.

Very relaxed Atmosphere. Very relaxed Service. Forgot a couple of items we had ordered. But took them off of our bill.

Came as part of a group of 11 for a birthday meal. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed. The venue can be described as cosy. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was lovely, clean plates all round. Would like to come back.

Must admit I only found Davardi's when dating my then Girlfriend, now wife, in the mid 80's. I remember if you phoned a say 6pm your pizza would be ready for 8-30pm. This is not a criticism this is really how busy the place is. I have never had a better Pizza ever, before or since. I live in Spain now, and have always tried to try a Pizza from reviews but honestly they have never compared to Davardi's. I'm back to the UK next week and make a point of getting over for one

Davardis has been around as long as me, and that should tell you something! Yes most great things were created in the 70s. Called in a couple of weeks ago to eat in, and we weren't disappointed. I decided to go for the Irish and the other half had the special, which was a meaty option. Pizzas came out quite quickly and hot. They were also eaten quite quickly as they were so tasty! It is no wonder that this fabulous little place has survived so long. 😊 The staff are friendly, the service is fabulous and the pizzas are out of this world! They also run as a takeaway too. Just one thing to note the restaurant section is not licensed so if you want to have a drink with your pizza uou can bring your own bottle and glasses if preferred. However we just had soft drinks in the glass tumblers provided.

Been going to Davardis for over 40 years , had 3 owners in that time, the food has remained consistently good and its a bring your own booze. Well worth a stop off for a friendly no nonsense evening. Small dining room so booking is recommended.

Nice pizzas probably the tastiest I've tasted in a very long time in the Salford. Mine was Veggie would of loved a bit more Cheese. Had mushroom in a sauce lack of Mushrooms & Sauce.

Been coming here for over 30 years, the best pizzas ever, service with a smile and chat, like family, we took our kids, and now our grandkids, they all love it to, hats off to Davardi's, we have seen the changes in in generations, but the food is still the highest quality, they care about their customers.

I've been coming here for over 40 years, and suppose I've just taken it for granted. However, my sister and grandkids came up to visit from Devon, and i suggested pizza for a treat. The kids all loved the thinness of the base with the lush toppings, and my sister has put in an order for me to take some down next time i visit. She reminded me it was her that took me there for my very first time many, many years ago, and that the pizza's are still as tasty now as they were back then. Think i need to try one again this weekend 🤔

This is probable the best pizza place in Salford! It’s like a hidden little gem as it’s certainly not on any ordering app and you have to know it’s there! If you’re in the area pop in and grab a fantastic pizza, want to eat in book ahead as this lovely pizza bar with a smile is always booked well in advance!

Had take aways recently but not been in the restaurant for about 35 years it was a place we used to frequent every weekend in our younger days. Food was extremely good and staff so friendly will deffo be back again soon

Well...what can I say? My uncle has been coming here since he was a kid and has always raved about it (they've been open 50+ years). They definitely keep it old skool with limited web presence, not even a working website and they only open 4 nights a week, it's definitely one of those places where if you know, you know 🤪 I finally got to go with him and the family to eat lots and lots of pizza for a family member's birthday meal and oh it didn't disappoint!! We tried lots of different ones and they were all really good. Nice and fresh, thin crisp bases with loads of flavour. The service was brilliant too. Hope to be back soon to try some more pizzas. Yum!

Not been for a while but so disappointed. Pizza was rock hard and overcooked. Ordered tiramisu and it was tasteless. No coffee etc in it just cream and huge chunks of chocolate.

The pizzas here are just on another level I’ve been going for 40 years and one of the biggest compliments I can give is that though ownership has changed the food is just the same. Michelin star pizzas, comparable to no other. Think that’s over the top then go and try for yourself

I ordered for the first time after a friend recommended davardis for years they delivered restaurant quality homemade food the lasagne was delicious nice rocket salad and rosemary wedges thin base of garlic bread and king prawns on toasted bread it was all super scrumptious and great value the portion size of the lasagne could have fed 2 we couldn't eat all the wedges and half the bread we were stuffed delivery as well what more can you ask for nice well prepared home cooked food will be back thanks for a lovely meal

After being told these were the best pizzas etc, place a take away order. Obviously a busy place with a small restaurant area at the rear. My order consisted of two Garlic breads, two Pizza's and side's. The garlic breads were at best average, the pizza was very poor, ingredients tasted cheap, the cheese absolutely tasteless. The only upside was the side coleslaw, which apart from being in a polystyrene cup was very nice. Overall for over £45 it was vastly overpriced. Sorry but i won't be returning.

Ordered takeaway pizza as a change from our usual place but wish we hadn't. the pizza were very mediocre and didn't have the authentic taste at all and the base of the pizza certainly didn't taste handmade. The toppings were poor too. Also ordered the rosemary and sea salt potatoes which were terrible - very greasy. wont be hurrying back I am afraid

We've been using Davardi's for donkey's years - best thin crust for miles. I moved out of area - but HAVE to get a Swedish with meatballs whenever I'm back in Farnworth or Walkden

Sin embargo, había pasado bastante tiempo desde la última vez que estuve, sabía que había cambiado de propietario hace unos años, ya que había conocido a miembros de la familia del nuevo propietario durante las vacaciones. Me complació mucho descubrir que, aunque las cosas se habían actualizado, el espíritu original de Davardi todavía estaba presente. Menú bastante simple 'pero con muchas opciones de topping de pizza. El comedor estaba ocupado, pero se las arreglaron para acomodarnos. Hubo una corta espera por la comida ya que era un sábado por la noche muy ocupado. La comida era tan buena como siempre. El proyecto de ley llegó a un precio razonable de 29. 90 para una pizza de pan de ajo, gambas al ajillo, 1 pizza alemana mediana, 1 pizza especial de davardi mediana y 2 refrescos. Volveremos, ojalá con más frecuencia.

¡Tuve Davardis por primera vez después de mudarme a Worsley hace casi un año y pasarlo cada vez que vamos de compras siempre diciendo que debemos intentarlo! Nos lo entregaron esta noche (sábado) 2 pizza, pan de ajo y gajos para 27, ¡incluida la entrega! ¡Realmente no podía fallar nada cuando llamamos por teléfono y nos dijeron que fácilmente sería una hora, que era exactamente! La comida estaba caliente y fresca muy agradable a todos nos gustó nuestra comida! Definitivamente lo intentaré de nuevo.

Mi marido y yo hemos estado viniendo a Davardis durante más de 40 años y las pizzas y platos de pasta es excepcionalmente bueno. Normalmente comer en como puede tomar su propio vino y cerveza por un pequeño cargo de servir licor. Toda la familia han crecido comiendo pizzas davardis. El personal es acogedor y amable. Ordered Pizzas for collection and arrived on time but was told Pizzas had been burnt. Waited again and unbelievably was told Pizzas had been burnt AGAIN !!!! Eventually after 45 mins. my Pizzas were ready. Well .when I got home one was still burnt and the Italian potatoes were dried up. The rest were below average and having used Davardis many times I can honestly say these were the worst ever, It will be a long time before I think about using Davardis again . Kath

After two takeaways from Davardi's (both Walkden and Monton), we're completely sold on the pepperoni pizza and can see it being a regular treat! The pepperoni is delicious - cut really thickly - and when you add jalapenos, it's perfection!

Lo que pasó con davardis? ? Una vez una auténtica experiencia italiana. Ahora un insulto a la cultura italiana que una vez fue. El quiche pizza/era cubierto con queso Cheddar añejado? ? Lo que sucedió. Y sobre el tema de las albóndigas. Por favor alguien podría dejar un sabor texto porque evidentemente no recibe un invito a este desagradable y caro tomate partido sauceless. Podría alguien por favor explicar como 2 porciones de la patata sin sabor amargo que igual cuñas hasta toda una spud se pueden cargar en el desorbitado precio de 7 libras y 50 pence? ? ? Me siento robado de mi una vez por semana tratan. Así que, en general, no creo que la próxima vez estoy sensación en el humor para un menú mediterráneo que se llama estos italianos de imitación.

We had a nice cheap meal here. Service wasn't great - e.g. no Parmesan cheese left which isn't what you would expect in an Italian restaurant and the waitress was overworked. Nonetheless for the price it was good and the atmosphere was friendly and cheerful.

On approach you think you are entering just a take away but walk towards the back and there is a quaint little restaurant area it's clean and basic but thoroughly enjoyable you take your own beer/wine the menu is quite extensive and the staff very attentive but not in your face, the prices are seriously reasonable and the food is served quickly and piping hot, will definately be returning.

My wife and I have been coming here for over 25 years and always enjoyed quality food and service, but I've got say the last couple of visits since the owners have opened a new pizza bar in Monton we've noticed a drop in standards in both food and service, our pizza topping tonight was very sparse and burnt. I hope the owners haven't lost interest in walkden, this pizza house has built a great reputation over the years, we will still go again and trust standards have improved.

We visited with friends and found the whole experience great...the pizzeria appears family run and you can either sit in to eat or order take away...We sat in in the small seated area at the back and ordered our food... this area is relatively small (with tables almost on top of each other) but i must say this adds to the atmosphere and all in the room were quite chatty & jolly... the added bonus of this place is you can brink your own drinks in eg beers, wine, etc at no extra cost, so are just paying for the food...The food is great - freshly made to order... mainly pizzas (obviously) of which there must be a choice of about 15... but also various pasta choices like spagetti bolognese, lasagne, canneloni, pasta bake, etc... plus side orders such as salads, potatoes, & garlic breads... there are also a few desserts like tiramisu to enjoy if you have room after your mains...All meals we ate this time (and those we've had before) were very tasty and reasonably priced... plus the service was excellent... It's a pity the room to eat in is not a little bigger as i'm sure the demand for the quality food on offer would see it filled no matter how big it was...Overrall, this place is a hidde gem and well worth a visit to try the ace food and great service, with the added benefit of being allowed to bring your own booze...

Went to Davardi's Walkden for a celebrity meal and really enjoyed it. The small but friendly seating area was bus but the service was good and there were plenty of people also having a good time making the atmosphere good. The food was well cooked and just the right amount to leave us all full without over facing us. Well done to the staff.

Ate here last Sunday evening. We needed to eat as we had just got back from France and had nothing in the fridge!We took our own wine. No corkage charge. We were lucky to get a table straight away. It's a very busy pizza restaurant as well as having a take away and a delivery service. We had pizzas. My husband really enjoyed his, personally I would down rate mine slightly as I struggled to cut it. Tasted fab though, but just a tad over cooked...

Went on a Sunday evening, eventually a surly ,disinterested waitress took our order.And then we waited and waited ,not recieving the starters we ordered, eventually the food arrived, 50 mins after we ordered it, only 2 other tables were taken so why the long wait? When the food arrived it was hard and burnt, when we informed the waitress we got an abrupt, sorry, no explanation for the long wait , late starters and burnt food. We have been loyal customers for 40 years and remember when it was a pleasure to eat there, sad to say not anymore.

I worked here for 10 years from 94-04, I've always been a great defender when people say it's gone down hill, but it has, it's lost the magic.It changed hands a few years ago, and the quality was maintained for a while, but now the staff aren't interested, often rude, and the pizzas are a dry, burnt shadow of their former selves.It could be down to the fact a new Davardi's has been opened in Monton, and that is the focus?Either way they've let it slip, and it's a shame.

Sad to see the demise of a once great institution. Many happy memories but sadly current offering nothing like what its'reputation is based on.

Just had one of the worst meals I've never eaten at this place. I can't believe that anyone would think this is a good place to eat at - where the hell have they been???I had garlic mushrooms that looked like they'd shrunken in the fridge before being cooked and my husband had mum's been to Iceland looking prawns. Followed by two pizzas which looked exactly the same, burnt toppings with a barely cooked base. We could only distinguish between the two by the supposed 'meatballs' on one of them, which resembled (and tasted like) what I imagine Pedigree chum would to a dog! The place is dingy, dark and in dire need of a good clean. In the midst of not eating, a lady walked through the 'restaurant ' wearing yellow rubber gloves and carrying two buckets past the 'diners' maybe these were sick buckets from previous customers!!! The girl who served us was pleasant enough but that's the only positive thing I can think of to say about Davardi's. Maybe it's the 'bring your own booze' thing that attracts people here, because it certainly cannot be the sub-standard fare that they serve. In fact, if you want a similar experience, pop down to Iceland, buy some two for one pizzas, go home, turn all the lights off, turn your oven on full, burn the pizzas to a crisp and tuck in - and save yourself £35 in the process!!!

I love this place. Can pop in for a fairly inexpensive night out with the family, taking your own beer really helps. Better yet, it's so tasty x

I have been using Davardis since 1976 and never had a bad one,, sit in and drink your own wine (very Reasonable) take away or delivery its consistant every time, Large Irish and extra salami yum yum!!

Such a lovely, little place to spend time. Great value for money. The food is delicious. The food is fresh. The staff are awesome. You can bring your own alcohol and they don't charge any corkage. It's a family run pizzeria and they always make customers feel welcome. I really can't praise this place enough, they have everything right. I wish more restaurants would follow their lead and realise that if their customers are happy, then they will keep coming back and will recommend it to others. They also deliver and their deliver guy 'Steve' is brilliant, very friendly and happy. We are going again tonight.

A superb little Italian restaurant that is cheap and cheerful. Nothing posh about the decor, staff or utensils. What you see is what you get, but what you get is very tasty and hot. It is a BYO (bring your own) as it is not licensed. Defo give it a try

Having been a patron of this establishment for over 40 years i've always enjoyed the excellent quality and consistency of the cuisine, till recently.Unfortunately my most recent visits have left a great deal to be desired and this evenings visit capped it allSlow service, yes they were fairly busy but the order, when it arrived was wrong and the pizzas were doughy, soggy and undercooked. And no, we didn't have time to wait for the correct order as we'd an hours journey home. Very disappointed

Ordered 2 medium pizzas to takeaway. Really disappointed. They were both really small in size and no better in appearance or quality than a frozen pizza. No taste or flavour. Terrible value for money. Go to Rudy's in ancoats if you want a real pizza not this poor imitation

Was really looking forward to this place . After good reviews of walden shop . But came away disappointed had the stuffed peppers meant to be stuffed with rice and minced meat . Mainly rice with a couple of grains of minced meat . Very bland to had the cheese garlic bread witch was just ok !

I have been going to Davaris since the early 1970. The food has always been lovely and never had to complain about anything. You can take your own alcoholic drinks in, which is nice. The place itself is a little small, but nice. Can't wait to go again.

The pizzas are one of a kind here, not your average offering. I have been eating there or getting a take out pizza for the last 44 years. Each pizza is named after a country and don't really bear any relationship with that counrty, it's sort of quaint. All are delicious and a large on is a challenge ! They don't serve alcohol but encourage you to take your own (no corkage charge) I can't begin to tell you how different they are, you have to try one to believe it. Davardis opened in 1971 - there were no other pizza restaurants in the Manchester area at that time - and have been going strong ever since. They will be opening a new restaurant ( a first for them ) in Monton, Eccles very shortly. Can't wait as it's on my doorstep.

I loved my visit to Davardis! I went with a group of 8 and it was a great way to start our night. We took our own alcohol and accommodated a table for the evening. Friendly staff and good pizza. The girls loved the pasta too. Others in the group described the pizza as 'too cheesey' but how can a pizza have too much cheese? Will be going back in the future!

Have been here several times before and it never fails to impress. It is cheap and cheerful as a BYO restaurant and it is always busy. Staff are friendly and I can recommend the Irish with pepperoni and salami

...and that's saying something since I've eaten a fair few over the years! Seriously though, if we'd wanted burnt cheese on toast I could have just made it at home and saved twenty odd quid. We ordered three pizzas from here to takeaway and 2 of them were not just well done but actually burnt and inedible. I can't believe someone actually took them out of the oven and thought they were fit to give to a paying customer. First time ordering here and we won't be going back.

It was ok, we got a takeaway so I can't vouch for the restaurant.It is like home made pizza and rustic style so not comparable to pizza hut or dominoes, which we are not keen on anyway.Really surprised though that the cheese used on the pizzas tastes like cheddar......On the menu it says 'cheese' so my mistake to assume its mozzarella but we were a bit shocked. The cheese made the overall taste like cheese on toast or a meatball sub, and the cheese did not stay melty it sort of hardened just like cheese on toast.

After many years of my husband saying how good this place was & after using Pizza Hut & Dominoes - we decided to give it a try. Rang at 6.30pm on Saturday night to be told collection time would be no earlier than 8.50 pm! Obvs we went elsewhere - wanted tea not supper!. The following week we had friends over so decided to order in pizza - I went Pizza Hut which as always was delicious, he went to Davardi's. To say it was disappointing would be an understatement ... Barely warm when collected, now in a standard box & not the old foil wrapping which gave it it's individuality, much thicker crust - used to be super thin & crispy. It also had hardly any topping on except the meatballs. Half of it went in the bin & they are not cheap either! Also had the Italian potatoes - again no where near as good as previous & a much smaller portion. Won't be going back. Sorry! Pizza Hut all the way !

The warm glow creates an ambiance that draws you in on a chilly winter night, the tantalising smell arouses the senses and the queue of people confirms that this is going to be a food experience that will leave it's mark on your memory.Having been away for 15 years I was worried it couldn't be as good as I rememberedHowever we were met by smiles from a staff made of family members all eager to please. We ordered an American and an Irish with extra olives. It did not fail to deliver, with each bite we were transported back 15 - 20 years. Every happy memory flooded back. The food is delicious, the pizza bases are thin and the toppings thick. The center - soft and the edge - crispy. This is absolute pizza perfection. The price is comparable with other pizza restaurants (if not slightly cheaper). Taking your own alcoholic beverage is a bonus and the small 'dine in' room provides an intimate dining experience which must be savored just like the food. Please take time to delight in the dining experience that is Davardi's.

its been over 10 years since I've been here as I don't live in the area anymore but as soon as I walked in tonight and smelt the amazing food I knew It hadn't changed a bit - it still looks the same and the pizza is still gorgeous together with the garlic bread and Italian potatoes. I read some reviews re the prices but I disagree - you get what you pay for and other well known pizza companies are well more expensive and not half as tasty - in the words of Arnie "I'll be back" ...... Probably next weekend !!!!
